My thoughts on Delicious Party Precure so far!

Honestly it feels like they’re running out of ideas. Maybe they’ll execute it well to where it’s original and all, but at this point it just shows the franchise has been going on for too long and that Precure can take anything for the sole purpose of making toys. It would be a lot more nice to see a video game season or maybe a circus themed season, that’d be cute. But food? Eh, maybe not the most interesting and we already seen this theme in like 6 other magical girl shows but we’ll see how it goes.

I definitely prefer tropical rouges designs. And yes, despite there being many green foods, and wind and the earth typically being associated with green, a purple cure earth and a blue cure spicy win in the game of merchandising I guess.

This season looks promising, mostly because we seem to have different things than other seasons, like a men mentor with different personality, each of the cures having a "job" and a tuxedo mask. (Praying for Takumi to be the 4th cure)

It doesn't sell well i guess. They should try again. Yknow. It's only been about idk 10 years. since the last fully green cure. I don't think it will hurt the sales that badly to add a severely underrepresented color

Plus with yui liking fresh vegetables(which are mainly green) I feel the chances of getting a green cure are slim but not zero

every single time green is a good color for the theme of the season they go "nope lol get pink blue yellowed" except for tropical rouge, they kind of have a green also the tropical rouge color scheme is still pink blue yellow purple red (the most basic color scheme ever) but out of order

As much as I do enjoy the designs now, it did take me a bit to warm up to them, which seems to be the case for a lot of people lol. I definitely appreciate them a lot more in color - when the book pages first released I did not like YumYum’s design at all, but as soon as we saw it in color I got really excited and it became my second favorite behind Spicy. Also I love how everyone is calling out the guy in the poster for a Tuxedo Mask wannabe😂 And yeah I personally enjoy romance subplots no matter the gender, so as long as it’s well executed I don’t mind if they go that route! Let’s hope Takumi fares better than Seiji did in that regard. Overall, I am pretty hopeful for this season, I think it’s going to be fun!

I’ll be honest, with Trop-Rouge I was hoping that would lead to a decently long stretch of unusual and strange concepts and color combinations for PreCure but now we’re right back to the three-member Pink-Blue-Yellow scheme despite just getting that in Healin’ Good. At the very least, I like the amount of white that’s in Cure Precious’s design.

I do agree on warming up to the designs, when I saw the coloring book leak I was sooo confused. I just didn't know what to make of it, but once we saw them colored I was shocked, flabergasted, amazed, they looked beautiful IMO. Also I was caught off guard, I thought Cure Prescious's "Wheat background" were fireworks until you mentioned them being wheat XD. And yes, omg her voice being deeper than the other 2 pink cures is so refreshing. We can all relax, I can't wait to see epi 1, also I cant wait seeing Kome Kome grow up and get to know more about Gentle (forgot her name). I also wanna see this Tuxedo Mask boi, he seems mysterious 👀

I’m getting so tired of the Pink, Blue and Yellow aesthetic. It’s so common at this point that it just feels repetitive, with also the mid-season cure being purple. And even the personalities are getting pretty similar too, the pink being an optimistic supportive friend, the blue being a more serious and calm and sometimes rich/popular, the yellow being hyperactive and bright and the mid season one being OP and intelligent about the whole cure thing. Also the way they’re set up in the posters is starting to become the same too. The blue being on the left, pink middle and yellow on the right. I also noticed that the Delicious Party designs are very similar to the healing good ones. The blue one having a longer dress than the others and a long ponytail , the pink having a bun and sorta long hair with a small princess dress and the yellow having twin buns with extra short hair on the sides and a tight skirt with a really funky design. Now that i think about it, those kinda sound like the Go! Princess designs… I wasn’t a huge fan of the designs these past 2 years tbh

Honestly, when I saw the colors of the cures I went crazy. Why does there have to be another series with the pink, blue and yellow cures, and then (most likely) the beautiful purple cure appears in the middle of the series? Enough, there are so many colors, and by the way they seem to have the same personalities as those of healin good. Why don't they ever consider a green cure, for example? What a nuisance.

I don’t like the pink blue and yellow color scheme. It’s too repetitive at this point. But I love these designs. Cure Yum Yum is my favorite. I love precious’s more deeper voice over a typical high pitched one. I also love the personalities presented. Precious is a more calm lead, Spicy has a bit of fierce and attitude, and Yum Yum is more playful and energetic. Rosemary looks like a very fun man to be around. I’m also intrigued with Takumi. Especially with the white Tuxedo Mask being on the promo poster. I don’t mind a romance plot as long as it isn’t a Miraculous Ladybug. I’m just looking forward to this because Tropical Rouge isn’t my favorite season. Hope we get a dark skin cure.

This character from the poster next to the new Precure this year remind me of Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon Crystal who is also wearing a mask. Judging from standing back side I bet he's an ally to Delicious Party Precure and Yui's childhood friend Shinada Takumi will play a this role in this series to fight evil.

It's too soon to say but I'm going to guess that the girl in the mask from one of the phantom thief Bandits will be the Precure's enemy for now but will later change side and become the fourth Precure.

Speaking about the straight romance discourse, I haven't been in the precure fandom for a super long time but for most magical girl shows it can be kind of frustrating since they focus a lot more heavily on girls interactions and for lgbt fans that can spark hope that they'll see an experience like theirs and it feels like a betrayal even if it isn't meant to. However with Precure, from what I've seen at least, there's a lot of implied lgbt themes and seeming relationships between the girls, and part of it is due to the extensive overall cast that I don't think I would be hostile to a straight romance necessarily. The only thing I'll say is it would be annoying if it came out of nowhere because some shows use the excuse of main boy and main girl as the only reason they got together

I think all the fairies will become human so all of them becoming cures might be interesting but I think they’ll just be cure helpers ala Milky Rose. I really hope that villain girls DOES not become the 6th ranger and let alone a purple one because we already got to many purple cures. I doubt we’ll get a green one but as long as it’s not purple it’ll be fine. I don’t want another villain/fairy character turning into the cure. Either I want Takumi or a new human girls the cures will meet in upcoming episodes become the new cure. Overall I’m looking forward to see what the series will bring and I’m already getting excited!

Honestly when it comes to the designs, I think they’re okay, but they’re a bit too detailed. Cure spicys especially looks like it’s probably such a pain to draw… 😭 I’m not that excited for this season, but I think it looks interesting at least. The trailer didn’t really show anything that made me super interested and the website isn’t really helping me get into it very much either, but I’m sure I’ll probably be more excited once some more trailers come out and the release date gets closer 👍 Im personally not a huge fan of romances in precure, considering the ones in the past have always been kind of boring or even frustrating at times (in my opinion of course), so I’m hoping this one will be different if there is one.

Commenting for this overview! Great work as always! Honestly, I'm not super sold on the designs so far. If I had to rank them, they would be Yum Yum-->Precious-->Spicy. Mainly because I feel Yum Yum is the only one out of all the girls that really REALLY leans in hard for their motif. Love the Chinese-styled dress. That being said I do agree with others in that the pink, yellow, blue trio is getting a bit old at this point. I thought TR was a step in the right direction with the outfits still having a base color but not being the only color present. However, I do feel like these designs are a bit too....generic (minus Yum Yum). I see that Precious' design is based off of a Japanese Kimono. And honestly, I would've loved to see an inspired outfit like that compared to the one we have now which just seems to be a mix of those elements. It's not bad, but I feel they could've leaned in a bit more. The mid season cure is either going to be Gentlu or Kome Kome. Both is possible, but I'm definitely thinking that unless they pull some sort of twist with Takumi becoming a cure. Overalls thanks for the wonderful review!

AAAAAAA I've been excited for this video!! I really look forward to your First Look videos! I feel kinda the same as you tbh! It's just not feeling this one, and I'm unsure if I'll stick with it all year. Nothing about the theme or designs interests me at all. Like I'm sure others will like it, especially the target audience, but I find PreCure the most fun when its' themes are weird and unique. This season just seems very generic to me so far. Yeah I think it has to do certain lgbt viewers not being to identify with the cure if she is into a guy. I get that somewhat, cause in the past I've been disappointed in shows where a male character I thought to be gay ends up with a girl or shows interest in girls. But in the case of precure it isn't really done much anyway, so I don't see a cure having a male love interest to be jarring in any way. Then again I'm not a female viewer so my experience will be different. If any of this makes sense

@@ScienceProject99 I understand what you mean. For me as a straight female viewer, it is usually obvious if the characters are straight or not and I like it either way. I just prefer when a couple is canon and accept it if it's not, just a little sad if it isn't but I wouldn't get upset about it. Same as even if I thought they where straight but ended up not I would still be fine with it. And especially for a Japanese Tv Show aimed at kids it is to be expected that they're most likely going to be straight. People tend to forget that Japan doesn't have the same views as the west has. And you don't have to always identify with a character, you can ship them even tho they're different from you. Some of my ships I couldn't identify with personally but I still liked them alot.

im really exited it reminds me a tille of healing good, wich i like it it makes me thing that maybe the saw potential on kira kira and healing good, and since those seasons werent really liked by the fandom they are going to do some things form those seasxons again wich made me think that maybe tropical rouge was a more relaxed season and in the back they were actually working hard on this also since they were more protective about leaks i think they are taking this a little more serious, since also it looks theres going to be a lot of plots like a romance, the tuxedo mask, etc.

I'm already 6 episodes in and I really love the pacing this show reminds me of the 90s anime Sailor Moon on how they pacing the new Sailor Scouts, giving you enough time to get to know them and how they fit into the team. It also food looks great this show is always making me hungry 😋

I think the designs are really nice! Cure Precious is my favorite of the three so far!~ X3 I'm not a fan of Cure Spicy's hair style, but the rest of her looks good. Cure Yum Yum's name sucks, but her design as a whole looks good. I just wish she was classified as an orange cure instead of yellow. I am really sick and tired of pink, blue, and yellow trios. Not just in Precure, but in any magical girl anime. The colors may look good together, but it's such an overused color scheme and there's other possibilities for different color schemes. They've could've done pink, blue and orange and it would've been unique (like Ojamajo Doremi). The color scheme won't prevent me from watching the show, but I really wish Toei would get more creative with the starting colors. Oh well. I'll see what happen with this season. Still looking forward to it.

I get why they’re sticking to the OG colour trio, they don’t want to risk over bloating the cast and keep things to 3-4 base cures and 1 sixth ranger, though I wish if they’re going to stick with the 3 cure lineup they’d mix the colours up a bit. Still, the designs look good, I especially like Kokonoe’s/ Cure Spicy’s, and having a more prominent male character that might even help out in the fights is really promising. Here’s to a good season!!

I wants to see a team based on the Circus, Ballerinas or Fantasy creatures. Just imagine a Cure Dragon with tails and wings, a Cure Pegahorn and a Cure Phoenix. That sounds really cool... and more creative than another team based on food. Seriously, we already got Fresh who have names based on fruits and Kira kira who are based on sweets. Why one based on appetizers| snacks? Not very original if you asked me :S Cure Precious have a nme similar to Cure grace and her outfit looks a bit like cure Yell, Cure Spicy looks like a fusion of Fontaine for her mature expression and Aqua for her outfit, Cure Yumyum have Cure Lemonade's haircut and Cure Sparkle's outfit. Another thing i don't find creative. The colors are pretty though. It's funny that there's a Tuxedo mask clone in this anime X) I hope he's a villain who will became a cure like for Passion and Beat. That would be fun to see!
