Most guys need to focus on getting a good truck that they can afford and having a well stocked maintenance account. This is not the time for a new authority.

New authority drops rate. More owner operators need to work together instead of creating new authority

In this industry there seems to be this hierarchy. Many drivers do not understand there’s multiple paths, they are different but not wrong. It’s not Company - Lease - Owner Leased On - Owner Authority. The 20% isn’t being taken from you, on the 80/20 split. The 20% is something you pay for things you receive. Doc Green is working through some pitfalls of his own authority. His videos are helping others to understand what all is involved, just as yours show the value of the 20%.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. I’m at the same company. Too bad that doesn’t fit the narrative you wish it did. I wasn’t even talking about me, I was talking about another KZbinr that did a video on the Saturday prior. Did you even watch the video before you made your ridiculous comment?

I would add that new carriers have to work with brokers like low paying TQL and ones like them till they build reputation before being able to work with better paying brokers. That’s a big deal. SRO already has a good reputation.

Yes sir I agree. The first six months is definitely tough for new carriers

Todd you right in away but like the one comment stated new carriers for the first 6 months have to work with new carriers. If your authority is older they can do the same as you. Most brokers offer fast pay fora price. Tql has got bad over the years. You have no business getting your authority if you have no backup funds for the first few months.

I didn't say that new carriers couldn't get broker freight. I just explained that it's much harder. While I agree with you about the importance of having backup money, it's really impossible to know how much you need, obviously the more the better. In this volatile economy though it's almost impossible to guess between breakdowns and freight rates and fluctuating fuel prices

Why does it even take weeks for brokers to pay? And what other industry pays lile that?
@truckertoddllc

A lot of companies pay invoices once a month and so they will pay in 30 to 90 day increments to give them time to collect before they pay. I agree with you that it’s a ridiculous policy but a lot of companies do it in and out of trucking
