Great intro video - For those who are interested in ARPGs, there are a few more things you may want to know 1. Stash - there is nearly an infinite amount of stash space that is purchased through the in game standard currency and it is VERY customizable for great organization. You can even look at your stash tabs with main and sub tabs. It's remarkable and free. 2. Loot filter - this game has a loot filter that is both extremely powerful and VERY easy to use once you learn how. One of the best ways to learn the filter is to watch a short video on the topic and then import a filter to see how it was actually constructed so you can do your own or just use it as is. The system is AMAZING and useful right from the start of the game (and I NEVER use filters). 3. NO BUILD GUIDS NEEDED - the game is SUPER transparent about how things work. Each ability even has tags indicating what stats and item attributes will affect it. With passives being well segmented and each skill having its own passive tree, it may sound like a lot, but it is all so well compartmented that it is very manageable and the synergies are largely clear. Just like any ARPG, there will be sone builds that are not as transparent and the are many solid end game builds on line to choose from, but you don't have to use one to function. 4. Flexibility - This was touched on but I think it merits a bit more emphasis. It is VERY VERY easy to respec in this game. As mentioned, the ONLY thing you are stuck with is your mastery. It was mentioned that your skills have a floor so if you swap them you are not starting over from zero, but it should also be noted that, while your skill is under leveled, experience gains for that skill are dramatically increased. This makes it so you are back up to speed in no time. The only reason they have you leveling them at all is because they did not want people swapping skills in and out constantly to do certain content. 5. End game - Like it was mentioned, the theme of LE is the middle ground. D4 has a lack of end game content and PoE has very sophisticated and robust but complicated end game. LE is right in the middle. While end game features are more static than PoE, there are still several different end game loops and their "mapping system" is good for target farming, but much less flexible than PoE. Either way the end game is fleshed out remarkably well for a game just entering 1.0 6. Crafting - there is a second part to the crafting system that is worth noting. Everything that was mentioned was spot on. In the end game crafting is not only taking items and improving their stats. It is also a super item creation process. Later items in the game can be combined with one another so one item randomly takes some of the stats of a second item you choose to make a combined item that is more powerful than both separately. This is a really interesting and unique feature of crafting that I thought was worth a highlight. 7. To Trade or Not To Trade - there is a bit more to this that I thought you should know - one of the biggest challenges for game designers is to either engineer the drop rates in the game for a game with trade or a game with limited trade. LE brilliantly does both. If you choose the trade guild, over time you unlock the ability to trade items and the currency needed to both list and buy items. The other system though is more than just more loot. If you choose not to trade and go with the more drops rout, you also open up many attributes that go beyond more and better loot. You can even customize it so you can get specific types of extra loot. There is even an option for whole sets of items to drop instead of one piece of a set (although I am not sure if that one will stay). The point is, both sides of the system are very well thought out and will be tweaked over time as they see how they are working. You can also swap back and forth between these systems with some serious restrictions. Sorry for the long post, but these are all things that I was thinking could make a difference to your choice to play or not. I also think that it is worth noting that the game does have a cost and does have microtransactions, but the game is pretty cheep and the microtransactions are purely cosmetic. Oh and NO BATTLE PASS.

@@contris1 I understand where you are coming from, but it may not be as bad as it seems. I am playing a pure minion necro at the moment and I have the potential for 6 permanent minion types and 1 quick summon. The skeleton archers, warriors and rogues are all one skill that you can customize to give you more or less of each type through the skill's passive tree and you have a separate non-skill button to direct your minions to attack. So they are controllable to a decent extent without a skill slot to do so. At the moment, specifically I am running skeleton warriors and archers (with fire arrows), skeleton mages, a golem and wraiths with volatile zombies as a quick cast. I was annoyed at first because I had no direct damage so I couldn't break items but then I realized you can actually direct your minions to attack environmental items, so no direct damage is working out fine 😀

For me playing GD and LE periodically will make the fullest of ARPG enjoyment possible. So I think that you definitely should try LE, and don't forget, GD after release had a whole 6 years of active development and patches, which is something that LE don't have yet. Even if you'll find LE incomplete, give it time, and I'm sure it will shine with new powers.

End game needs a lot of love (highest priority for future content releases last I heard). But, the systems and mechanics? REALLY great. There's a lot of promise, if the devs stick with it. It's highly unfortunate about the current server situation. But supporting (full) offline, is a true rarity for ARPGs these days. So major kudos to the devs for this. My only real complaints, are 1) that combat feels a bit janky at times (targetting issues). And 2) I personally just don't like the campaign, and you can't skip it. (Exception: I really liked what is currently the last act, it's a big jump in quality compared to what came before, so any future acts are probably gonna be really good too)

I'm very appreciative of all the quality-of-life stuff - thank you Offline mode! - but there's a couple small things that I feel could be polished in that department. For example, while having a side-stash for your crafting materials from the outset is very nice, why do I need to press a separate button in the inventory to put them there? That seems like a weird extra step that didn't need to exist. I also don't like that the map resets when I portal to town. I'm just selling my vendor-trash; why did the enemies all respawn? Why is the fog of war covered again? Stuff like that. That said I am enjoying the gameplay of Last Epoch a lot. I too went Primalist, but I shifted directions: I was gonna go for a Druid, with a thunder-bear spec and/or the Scyther form, but changed my plan and picked Shaman. At the moment I'm jumping into the fray with an electrically-charged Fury Leap, spamming Storm Bolts with Gathering Storm, while nuking enemies with the Storm Crows' Crowstorm ability. Pretty happy with it...but my character's name no longer matches lol ("Bearon Thunderclaw").

Just want to say that you've come a long way from making guides in the Wrath of the Righteous beta. Good on you man.

Please review grim dawn mortim!! I would love to hear your take on it! I particularly like the atmosphere/setting, it has the dark feel. There arent any bright moments lol

Love the game, perfect middle ground between D4's bland simplicity and PoE's impressive but daunting depth. I actually prefer the skill system in LE because the skill customization feels more tailored to each skill compared to PoE's support gem system.

So it's basically Lost Ark without grind fests and thirst traps? Ok, I'll put this on my wishlist. I like it.

I don't like how enemies and the map respawn every time you town portal or otherwise leave and return to an area. I also don't like how the game punishes you for respeccing. But, it does do a lot right too. I've been enjoying it, and look forward to making a Warlock soon.

Looks like a kick in the jaw to Diablo IV. A much needed one tbh. What a difference.

He said “screw this, I’m forging this unique, I don’t care what the game says.” 😂

Would be curious to hear if anyone on here has tried this game and played a summoner class with any success? I loved Diablo 2 necro and it'd be cool if there was something roughly similar(even if it wasn't to the same amount of summons)

Will you every review Path of Exile or are you waiting for Path of Exile 2?

As a Bladedancer your Primalists looks like he's moving in slow motion. I hope I haven't spoiled myself with my class choice. On a related note it really peeves me that I cannot customize my characters appearance beyond the online cosmetics.

Its nice to play a game that doesnt hate its players and tries to hoodwink them for money
@orarinnsnorrason46149 ай бұрын
This game sits nicely between Diablo and Path of Exile. Not as simple as Diablo and not too complicated as PoE. It has a 35$ price and that's it, no mtx no bs. Its the deal of the Century.

Gotta admire LE devs commitment to recreating the D3 launch experience as they burned their own servers to ground during launch day.
