I love LA, but the Mexican part. I feel like that part's not talked about enough. My mom's Mexican and her family all live in the LA area. I love going to visit them. People are so warm and friendly, the food's amazing, and it just feels like home. It's always fun to hang out at the park on Sundays, eating carne asada and hanging out with primos. LA is not just made up of entitled white people and self-obsessed content creators. There's a really beautiful diverse part of it too.

I live in the Midwest and I recently visited LA after wishing to live there for years. It wasn’t my first time in LA, but it was the first time I was seriously considering moving there while visiting. I was disappointed and no longer see myself living there. I got a bad vibe that I couldn’t shake, and it seemed like I would be pressured to spend a lot more money if I lived in LA. I am surprisingly liking my Midwest city and think I will stay here for now!

Being born and raised in LA, LA will always have a special place in my heart. However, people have been sold into the fantasy of Hollywood and fame. It's just a city like any other (except wayyy too expensive😔😭), its really about who you chose to surround yourself with. I don't recommend to come in with the influencer mentality of wanting fame and money.

The funny thing about “LA” is… it’s huge. And it’s not just the city of LA. The county is comprised of so many cities. For instance Disneyland isn’t even in LA, it’s located in the city of Anaheim. Then you have, Pasadena, Northridge, Glendale, Santa Monica, Culver City, East LA, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood. The list of cities within LA County goes on. And then of course you have LA city proper. When people say they’re from “LA” most often times they mean the county not city lol. The vibe is different from place to place. I have lived in and have been going there my entire life. All in all however… LA is the people you hang with. It’s a sprawling space. I’m from San Diego (shhhh it’s way better 😂).

I’m from LA & moved to New England (suburb outside of Boston) and I’ve been LOVING IT. The change of seasons has been amazing. Also- I agree with you on LA being superficial and can be so fake. I hated L.A. The whole vibe is just very much not my thing.That said I DID see a guy with a dog in one of those chest baby carrier things and I LOVED Joshua Tree NP so that was cool. On a completely unrelated note I was actually really disappointed when Joey Chestnut finally dethroned Kobayashi 😂. I'm genuinely surprised that you mentioned it, I guess enjoying hot dog eating contests is more of a constant in Massachusetts than I thought lmao.
