I used to enjoy 'Fests' and 'User Groups' back in the days of BBSes (meeting other SysOps was the key in hosting a popular board), But the passing of 70's/80's-era user-groups made my hobby a far more individual sport. I am jealous though of folks who live 'near' retro-tech events, as it would be a hoot to attend one. You are absolutely correct though that the Sega/Nintendo era is the current hot gaming generation. Then again, folks like me, who were there as adults at the beginning, are dwindling in numbers these days, leaving it to the young whipper-snappers like you to carry on the legacy for the good stuff!!

Hahaha that's the first time I've been called a whipper-snapper in about 30 years😄 hey I'll take that!😁 There's very little in the way of meetups close to me but yes very lucky to have at least some I can attend. It's a shame there are so few new youtubers of the older generation coming through, it does feel like it's filtering off towards the generations that followed at this point outside of the massive channels. I think any upcoming channels will likely not have much interest in the early 80's era of games which I love(well thr 80's era full stop were the golden era of games for me). It was a pleasure to meet you in person finally Lee and hopefully I’ll see you at the next event. Yeah it was rare of folk to have a BBC B in the home. I do think I was lucky to have that and a Spectrum as kid. It was a cracking event and it was great to see so many from the community make the trip to show it some support. Tooty even mentioned that they may do a mini event later in the year. Take it easy mate.

Interesting you're South West based - was planning to do another Roadtrip vid from our last visit down to Cornwall, did a Comic Con in Truro and visited a fantastic retro arcade in Newquay... btw the C5's were great fun, way ahead of their time...

I think they're doing a mini event in an upcoming arcade venue later this year. I'll definitely be going to the main one again if its on next year. See ya soon mate👍

Enjoyed listening to how your weekend unfolded Lee What a fantastic event and day it was, the time just went so fast it was like a blur on Saturday and didn't seem to have time to play much or speak to anyone to any leni but it was absolutely brilliant Can't wait for the next one, there is going to be a mini one at the new arcade place in Walsall I have heard so that should be good as that place is looking awesome from the footage ive seen Dont worry about getting me anything mate honestly, it was only a low value game, just hope you enjoy it All the best mate👍
