My thoughts on Sonic Ships

To celebrate the holiday of love, I made this to coincide with the Year of Sonic. Sonic ships can be a little controversial, but for the most part, they make sense and are cute. Here are my own two cents on some of the numerous Sonic ships.

5:08 while not my favorite ship there IS eveidence beyond it. Amy was the one who convinced Shadow to give up his grudge. And in Shadow the Hedgehog if you take the dark path for the first two levels and the hero path for the remaining 4 the name of the path you get is “The Power of Love”. What’s the first Hero mission on this path? Helping Amy find Cream

Well, Shadow's canon timeline is still up in the air to this day. There are 326 possible combinations, and we still don't know for certain which timeline is accurate.

It's also hinted that Amy kinda reminds Shadow of Maria in the game too because of Amy mirroring Maria's final words at that scene so there's that. But then again, they never actually canonically interacted with each other ever since then as far as I can see so I totally understand why you don't ship these two together.

@@tonysonic456 According to a thread I found on Reddit a while back, the "Together With Maria" path (Neutral-Neutral-Dark-Hero-Hero-Dark) is most likely the canonical one. Also, to correct Skibot99: the path he described is actually called "Miracle of Love". "Power of Love" is Dark-Hero-Neutral-Hero-Hero-Hero (the first hero mission is helping Rouge find the Chaos Emerald). To be honest, I feel like a lot of these path names were chosen at random, and I don't think SEGA expected anyone to read them all.

@@davebrown2056 which can be seen from some of the names not exactly fitting the endings for example one has a name about conquest but it's the ending where shadow says that he'll destroy the planet and the same path that ends with the hero mission instead is called "black angel" the one where he actually intends to conquer the universe when being created to bring order and justice to the humans and intending to destroy the planet sounds more like a "black angel" to me

What really bothers me is that Tails is literally ship with every female character in the Sonic franchise who are all older than him. The worst one is that weirdos ship him with Rouge because of that kiss scene and think it's cute. I ship Sonic X Blaze because I played a prehistoric flash game which is a kissing simulator, you have to make Sonic and Blaze kiss, while others aren't peeking. Shadow X Rouge, I can see it happen because Shadow cares for Rouge in Prison Island. Shadow lost Maria for good and he thought it was his fault that he lost her, he doesn't want another casualty, so he saved Rouge before the island exploded.

I absolutely adore both Sonaze and Silvaze, to the point where I don’t know which one I prefer. Sonaze because they have my favorite dynamic in the entire series and Silvaze because it’s one of the most wholesome ships in the franchise.

I've pointed this out before, but--the neat thing about Sonaze and Silvaze is that, because Percival (from Black Knight) exists, you don't need to choose between them. There's plenty of Blaze to go around, if you catch my drift.

That Sonic Channel profile was written in 2005. Sonic Generations (where Sonic has a birthday) came out in 2011. Considering that Eggman's profile on the same website lists his real name as unknown (even though "Ivo Robotnik" has been canonical on both sides of the Pacific since Sonic Adventure 2 in 2001), incompetence is the most likely explanation for why the profile wasn't updated to reflect this. EDIT: And then they removed all the ages from all their character profiles. What is happening right now?

My personal favorite Sonic ship is Tangle X Whisper from the IDW comics. It's cute, they have a great dynamic, the writers clearly ship it and make it as obvious as possible without breaking the "no romantic relationships" mandate... It's honestly perfect, and I can't wait for them to reunite. Now, if we talk game ships, my favorite has to be the Egg Carrier 😜 Can't wait for the Sonic Heroes video. Knowing you, you and DT are probably going to make some hilarious comments about Chariii and Biggums wasting around five sins on a question they know very well is intentionally kept a mystery and gets answered in you know what.

Here are some of my thoughts on some of the ships: SonicxAmy - Even though I’m more of a SonicxSally shipper, you do have a point that Sonic and Amy have matured in the later games. I’m willing to bet that when they’re asked, “Aren’t you two going to do the thing you usually do? Like, you run and she chases after you?” Sonic probably replies, “Nah, that was a long time ago.” And Amy probably replies, “Yeah, I don’t do that anymore. It was getting really old and I’m not like that anymore.” KnucklesxRouge - This ship definitely has a villain flirting with the tough as nails hero scenario; like Black Cat and Spiderman or Catwoman and Batman. SilverxBlaze - I agree with you! I think this is the most underrated ship in the Sonic fandom.

@@tonysonic456 I’ve been pondering this for a while, and I think my Mario ship list goes as follows… Mario x Pauline Luigi x Rosaline Mario and Pauline seem like a better fit than Daisy or Peach. Pauline has actually been in an out-in-the-open relationship, as in they both were known as boyfriend and girlfriend, whereas Peach kind of leads Mario on and Daisy is only interested in Mario as a friendly rivalry with Peach. I believe Pauline loves Mario whereas Peach and Daisy just like Mario. As for Rosaline and Luigi, I ship them because I don’t want Luigi just being a consolation prize for the princesses. Peach and Daisy pine for Mario, not Luigi. Rosaline, however, has no current relationship with Luigi in the games, so maybe in a future game Rosaline could develop a lil crush on Luigi, who in turn, Luigi tries to ask out Rosaline. That’d be the cutest thing! As for Peach and Daisy… I dunno how about they trade bad guys: Daisy with Bowser and Peach with Tatanga.

Your thoughts on Silvaze are my exact thoughts. They are the best ship ever. Silver, my all time favorite character in the Sonic universe. Blaze, my favorite female character in the Sonic universe. They had a strong bond throughout the game they are both present in. Where one goes, often the other follows. I will forever love this ship. It just feels so right. Also they are just so f***ing adorable in the huge amount of fan art I've seen!

Beastiality is bad because you’re attracted to an animal that doesn’t possess the intelligence to give consent or even feel attraction to anyone not its kind. Shadow may be an animal, but he possesses knowledge and emotions in order to give consent and feel attracted to Maria. Besides, we’re fine with stuff like Bowser x Peach, Roger and Jessica Rabbit, and even Frisk x Sans for some unholy reason.

Tails X Cosmo, Knuckles X Rouge, Sonic X Blaze and Silver X Blaze are my favorite ships. Tailsmo and Silvaze are my favorites. I actually love Tails and Cosmo together, as their very close friends and clearly have feelings for each other. Besides, they have a great dynamic together and support each other. Don't know what else to add for that. As for Silvaze, my thoughts are the same as yours, as it's the best Sonic ship. Don't care about the haters, I stand by my opinion. Edit: From my 4 favorite ships I mentioned, Tailsmo may be my second favorite Sonic ship, but honestly, it's the weakest of the 4 ships I mentioned. Sonic X Blaze and Tails X Cosmo can be interchanged personally. Knuckles X Rouge ranks second place for the best Sonic ship overall. This will piss a lot of people off, but Knuckles X Rouge ranks the lowest for me in favorite ships. Idk why, but I find it my least favorite of the 4, despite being one of the best ships and one of the ships most likely to happen. That's the edit.

@@christopherford39 Oh, that's what you were referring to. I always figured the "Lovely Couple" thing was sarcastic (because in the Japanese version it was "Lovebirds? Pair" with a question mark, and because Sonic looked very unhappy about the situation--the games didn't really start seriously floating the idea of him and Amy together until '06). The other examples you mentioned were pretty solid, though. And while we're on the subject, I should have mentioned Chronicles (because optional romance is still romance) and Frontiers (the subplot with the two Koko that Amy was trying to help). EDIT: And now, thanks to The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, we also have the train conductor and his wife.

There are three moments in 06 that had me crying, Blaze's death, The characters reaction to Sonic being dead and the ending when Elise blew out Solaris and let go of Sonic in the process. The first time I seen Sonic death I was shock as soon as it happened I said (Did he just kill Sonic The Hedgehog) then my mouth hanged opened then when the other characters seen him their reactions had me crying. Though when Elise brought Sonic back to life as Super Sonic and he brought Shadow and Silver with him I got chills I think the Solaris fight is the best final boss in any video game ever. Also Solaris the most powerful villain in the entire series what a send off, The ending of that game felt like the ending for the entire series.

My second choice for a ship with Sonic would be Percival, from Sonic and the Black Knight (who usually gets lumped in with Blaze, even though they're technically separate characters). The "save the hugs and kisses for later" cutscene was both adorable and hilarious. That being said--having rewatched the cutscenes from '06 in Japanese recently, I have to admit that he and Elise are kind of cute together.

I'll say this, I get sick and tired of Elise's hate over a simple kiss like.. Really? While Sonic forming love for a human Princess is a odd choice is it really the worse ship? I can name 10 ships that are 30 times worse. I personally don't mind Elise X Sonic infact I actually liked it because SEGA rarely let's charaters "kiss" so that being said it's kind of cool that SEGA attempted it since it rarely ever happens. Though for real and honest, It's stupid that Elise gets hated for a simple kiss and other human Princess characters get off scott free! Yes I just defended Sonic X Elise and I don't care if I get hate for it, Yes I'm a Sonic and Amy shipper but I still think it's satisfying that SEGA did something different that we'll probably never see again. Well Sonic and Elise did have a bonding moment it's just missed because they didn't have enough cutscenes together, Sega should have letted Elise spend time with Sonic and Tails and NOT be captured immediately and instead wait until the Silver and Sonic fight and THEN have Eggman capture her. As much as I like Elise there was a misopportunity. Though people complain that Elise doesn't use self defense, She doesn't have any weapons on her so what can she do? Slap Eggman? I mean C'mon. But I agree that there was misopportunites.

The neat thing about Silvaze and Sonaze is that because Percival (from Sonic and the Black Knight) exists, there's enough Blaze to go around. As for Knuckles x Rouge--despite my preference for Shadow x Rouge, I'll admit I've definitely softened towards the former ship in recent years, thanks to games like Generations and Forces demonstrating that Rouge and Knuckles actually like and respect each other and don't just fight all the time. (It probably helps that Sonic himself seems pretty supportive of them getting together, as shown in games like Sonic Rivals 2 and Sonic Runners.)

Well good thing were all just our different selfs and we have our own opinions in life because for me in my eyes Sonic is better shaped with Blaze cause she's in a way like a female Sonic to me the way she runs,could have some sense and thrill for adventure not much as how Sonic would but in a way sort of would and would have her duty to help out those in need like Sonic would and definitely for me also see it for Shadow and Amy because if it wasn't for Amy convincing Shadow to help save the world he still would've been an A$$H#LL about it and just let everyone died but no he helped thanks to Amy's words reminding him of Maria's words and even helped out Amy to find cream in his own game while Amy returned the favor in helping Shadow to fight off Eggman in the game too.
