My thoughts on the 2024 ZX6R ft. M4 exhaust pops 💥💥💥

I'm a 63 yr old sport bike rider. Stayed in good shape since I started riding in the mid 1980s. And yep, that included the 1st GSXr 750 and later the 1st GPZ 900 Ninja. The reason most of my friends transitioned to Harley's, Goldwings and Indian baggers is because when they hit their 50s & 60s they all have 'Beer Guts' and they can't even sit on a sport bike. I currently have a Ninja 650 and CBR 650 and just helped my son get a ZX4rr and he also rides a 2009 R6. I might add 1 more to the garage and my eye is on a 2024 ZX14r. Thanks brother, I'll get another Harley eventually but for now while my body still allows it I'll continue to enjoy sports bikes for as long as possible.

Have you noticed any CONS with the m4? For example, higher traffic light / idling temps?

Not at all. It would be the opposite since it’s more free flowing. Idling temps also have to do with your cooling, not exhaust set up.

Does those pops hurt the engine ? I recently installed IXIL Slipon mine just gargle (small pops ) while deceleration.

If it is just a slip on, not at all. Once you go full exhaust, meaning headers or deleting the catalytic converter then you would require a tune. 👍🏼

If you want less pops block the pair valve, it recirculates air causing this. Easy to do with a marble. 👍🫡
