Little thought about engraving your plaque. Get some self adhesive vinyl and stick it on the plaque, then cut through the vinyl with the laser. Then etched the metal with chemical or abrasive blasting. Finally remove vinyl and Etched brass plate.

It's a great tool for creating your own merchandise, with only the outlay for materials, and you can use up all the offcuts from projects on the boats. It also allows you to decorate new parts for the boats, imagine custom labels in brass for the helm.

That thing is just crazy cool. Certainly anything you can dream up in wood it can create. Brass, however, it just slighting beyond it's ability.

I have been waiting for this, pretty cool little unit. Funny thing, when you were cutting out the house I was thinking to myself, didn't Peter design custom houses. Can you just imagine if you had it when you were still doing that, making a perfect cut out scale model of the home you are about to build for you client. I mean I'm impressed right now, if you presented that design to me with a model, well, over the top. I can see many uses for you in the future. That coaster is bang on. As a fellow I know would say Love it, Love it, Love it.

There is a product called CerMark and TherMark made by CerMark USA. It makes permanent markings on metal with lasers. I used it for years marking all sorts of metals but primarily stainless steel. Cheers!
