My Thoughts on the Fiesta ST150 + Lowering Springs

I thought it was time I revisited the first drive video seeing as it was cut short last time. Luckily whiny gearbox this time! I also promised you guys a little review on the lowering springs I fitted over Christmas so I thought this would be a good time to include it. Sorry I missed an upload last week, I've got plenty of content filmed, just really struggling to find time to edit at the moment! Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the video.

Good video mate! With regards to suspension, I'll always recommend the Eibach kit with Bilstein B8 dampers. I've been in my mates 150 who has AP coilies and it's way too firm and crashes over bumps in comparison to mine. The Eibach and Bilstein combo is just outstanding for the price.

Oh really? Could be an opinion although I’ve never had coilovers so I’m keen to give them a try, like the idea of the adjustability

Nice video mate swap the tyres from rear to front may be the tyres causing the road noise had this multiple times when doing cars if not then go for the bearings

Oh really? I didn’t know that was a thing. If I’m honest I don’t think the tyres have got much left in them 🥴 I plan to refurb the wheels and get a new set of rubber all round this summer. Just need some wheels to go on in the meantime so I’m not rushing it.

Get rid of the standard wheels, go 16” with 45 tyres makes so much difference. I’ve the bilstein b12 kit fitted to mine and you still get a harsh ride but so much better than standard.

See I hear a lot about people going for smaller wheels but I like a big wheel that fills the arches. I feel like if I get a smaller wheel I’ll just want to go lower and it’ll be a viscous cycle 😂 plus I like skinny tyres, I’m fussy 🙃

Looking forward to watching this as just got a full suspension oe kit with eibachs to go on spent £310odd. I wonder watching this will make me think, I should have stayed standard or to go low. As we don't know your make of springs maybe they are a max or apex or the £40 eBay ones. As KYB say suspension should be changed at 50k. Yours is double that and mine Is triple that. I wonder how it's going to feel after its refresh!

Rattling LF, my mid bracket dropped. Got it welded back up. First cable ties, second crap weld, third a professional exhaust place. Apex are stiff as and 5 yr warranty. I was going to get stance ultras coilovers but thought OE with the ford option of eibach would be good enough. I get 320ish per tank. Had two osr wheel bearings go. Would recommend STP 5in1 ultra for an engine treat.

Yeah tbf the springs cold be fine but I reckon the rest of the suspension is pretty worn out. When I get coilovers I want to have all new top mounts and everything as there’s no point just replacing some of it. Hopefully yours will be good after they’re fitted

@@MendItModIt I went in; TRW Front and rear shocks, Eibach pro kit, KYB front and rear mounts, bumps and covers, Had to get some Zinc insulators for front shocks (as we spoke about before) paid £20 for two then rates/ford dropped their 5 for £35 to £7 - 😤 new rear anti squeak pad, pinch bolts.

@@MendItModIt **** yeah! Hopefully it feels good, Hopefully there is a massive difference to warrant the monies. Just looking to detail the car at mo that's another £100ish; Two buckets with grit guards, citrus pre wash, Gtechniq W1 wash with synthetic lambs wool mitt, 1200gsm towels for drying, heavy clay bar (as has never been clayed before I think) with spray, compound/polish then got dodo purple haze soft wax but could use CARNAUBA LUMINOUS GLOSS wax with the pure definition kit. Plus 12 plush microfiber cloths. Got the autoglym interior kit plus the the bumper/plastic reviver, a 12 piece detailing kit and Turtle Wax Odor-X to make it smell nice! Anything else I should add?

I would go poly bushes on the axle all that about being to stiff is rubbish that’s what suspension is for poly bushes just last forever

I’ll look into it, cheers mate. For now I’ve already got new rubber ones so I’ll put those in but probably will look at poly bushes down the line when I’ve got me a new daily sorted 👍🏻

I have the amax they are harsh but they get the job done I prefer the firm ride

I’ve definitely been in cars with a worse ride but like you said they do a job. I just wish the roads where I live were better 😂

Will you be using poly bushes all round

Not at the moment, I’ve heard they make the car too stiff especially with axle bushes. Once I’ve got a daily sorted I might look to polybush it 🤔 but for now the ST has to do it’s daily duties 🥱
