My 777's don't even mind tar snakes in 100+ degree temps down here! I have been really impressed with them and have used them for the last 2 bikes I have owned. I have tried Pirelli's, Dunlops, Metzlers, Michelin's throughout the years of riding and I will buy Shinko from now on. I have been impressed as hell with the Shinko, especially in wet conditions. Nice review Dbest!

@@dbest1aVlogs Ive run Shinko 777 tires on my 2 dynas and i never had any problems with them...But now i have Found Kenda Catyclsm rated at 79 for the rear and the Kenda Cruz at 72 for the front very grippy tires last just as long as the 777 for less money than the 777....

I have used these on one bike so far , my 2007 Suzuki C-50 Custom . I was so pleased with them , I bought a set for both of my H-D Softails , I will also replace the tires on my 2007 Sportster with them as well . I was very impressed with my first set . Thank you for watching. I did like the way they held the road. I put one on the front which has been going for about 8k now with still about 5mm left. The rear lasted approximately 6k then was toast. Not great, but not horrible either compared to other tires. Yes Bob is an invaluable friend, even more so is his invaluable conversation and knowledge. Thank you for the kid words and checking this video out. Man that was a beautiful fall day to ride n cruise. I currently have a commander 2 on the rear.

I got the Shinko 777's on my 2017 Sportster back in June, the shop wasnt happy that I didnt go with their in-house tires but I've been pretty happy with mine so far. They're super grippy but they feel harder than my stock tires.

Yes the 777 is sticky , just may not have as much longevity as some may like. Due to the cost of tire replacement. I have a commander 2 on back now which has gone 18k miles so far. I do have to hit the twisties though to keep the profile like it should be .

I had the same tires on my 2013 Honda Sabre 1300. I have to say that my Dunlop Sprout up about 4,000 miles. I got these and put 12,000 more miles on the bike and still had about 80% when I sold the bike! And I rode the hell out of that bike and also Road through cold and extremely hot temperatures. I took it on long-distance ride through the mountains, through City traffic and potholes, and all different kinds of riding conditions. I have to say that I am a fan of these tires. Right now I have a 2006 Softail Deluxe and am getting some White Walls this week. The problem is when I buy these tires off eBay I save a ton of money but I don't get the free installation. Right now at Harley-Davidson to get to whitewall tires for a Softail Deluxe they quoted me at $1,100

Good review. When I purchased my used 2008 Vulcan 900 Classic LT, it had Dunlop tires and it did "follow" the tar snakes. They weren't too bad but you definitely knew they were there. When it was time to replace them, I put on a pair of Michelin Commander II's and I still notice the tar snakes but not nearly as much as the Dunlops. I do love the handling of the Michelins though. Ride safe my friend.

Fellow rider, I have the same tires on my Kawasaki Vulcan. I love them. My bike came with Dunlops. They wore terrible, terrible mileage, and awful handling. These tires ride over lines in the road as if they weren't there. The bike leans into curves so well I have to be careful not to drop it, and they are fine in the rain. They were a good price. I'd definitely buy another set. Not sure about the mileage, but it appears it will be better than the Dunlops. Maybe your review will help other riders come to appreciate these fine tires as we have.

My shinko rear didn't last too long. 6k out the rear and it was time for a change . The commander 2s. I get about 18k miles out of a rear. The commander 2 runs about 200 us. The commander 3 rear about 320 us The shinko 777 rear 100 us. Pound for pound the miles is better with the commander 2. Still not to knock the shinko . It is a very good tire . It offered very good grip, and feel. Just no longevity. If your paying someone to I stall tires the longer lasting is the better bet.

Excellent video thanks a lot …..after I had my first Shinko I wouldn’t buy anything else I know longevity is not as great as the Michelin, but I have to many bikes and my tires get old before worn out plus the only time I purchased a very expensive Michelin tire I caught a sheet metal screw kinda of too close to the sidewall, ended up throwing away with with about 300 miles ( I know not the tires fault) but noticed also they were a little too stiff at least to my taste, plus the shinko comes with white sidewalls which’s a nice choice to have on a cruiser…

I'm kind of at a loss right now. I'm thinking about these or the commander 2. I'm hearing great things about both, the price point looks great on the triple 7 but the commander 2's mileage looks great too. I live in an area that has extreme highs and decent lows, 28F-110F I ride year round. I know the softer compounds break down faster in high heat environments but I'm not really sure how the harder compounds in the commander will hold up in the cold and wet. Since you've ran both any thoughts? I'm replacing the exedras on a v star 650.

The 777 faired about just under 6k miles. I went back to a commander 2 in the rear which I got 18k out of before. I do have a 777 in the front, which has really been nice. it's performed good, and mileage should be about 9 to over 10k from the front tire. The commander 2 can handle the high heat, and the low temps. Just know though they don't like tar snakes. lol. The 777 in the front is a little more resilient , but on a 90 degree day ....... You will still notice them. lol Thank you for watching

I haven't had an issue in the wet, but I also don't push it in the wet, minimal lean and such. For what they are.... they have been good. The big savings is I mount them myself. Unless your able to remove the wheel and take it to get mounted, that would help with cost too. I estimate to get 9k to 10k out the rear. If I get to 9k, I will be happy. with a 170/70 I am a little limited.

Good review video. With a lot of people working on a limited budget, the Shinko brand-name is a little easier to purchase when big brand name tires. In my opinion, if you have to choose between keeping your brand-name tires which are worn to nothing or getting a brand new pair of less expensive tires, you’re better off with the less expensive, newer rubber.

The front is still going with approximately 7k on it , give or take a few hundred. They do grip good , the rear held up great to heavy/hard cornering, as does the front. My only issue with the rear has been mileage. 6k is short when I was hoping for 10k.

I never took them on Gravel roads or sandy roads. On Gravel I'd expect they would behave kind of like my current tires commander 2. Very skittish lol. They were great in rain , great on tar snakes. I got 6k out of them which wasn't much. I commute a lot... 120+ miles a day so they took a beating. The commander 2 did last longer at 18k to 3mm 1st set, and 2nd set now at 17k to 3mm. But they are a different breed of tire. The shinko had 6k and was down to 1mm .... yes 1mm. Otherwise they were good. I'd buy again if I never rode far.

I hope you like them. I've never run a Avon, but have heard some vstar guys say they love them, and they stick like glue. The rear was nice, but I only seemed to get 5500 miles or so out of it, running a commander 2 now. The front 777 right now has 5k on it, but not enough tread to make it the 3k miles i am estimating for this trip, so i bought another. I'll be replacing it just before the trip. I hope you do like it. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on how you compare this tire to the Avon.

@@dbest1aVlogs .... The Avons don't last very long. ~7500 miles on a rear and double that front but the Avons performance is worth it :) I'll still have the Avon on the rear, so It'll good comparison....especially the performance, as I rip them around West Virginia :D

I hope you will like them. The mileage I got out of them was 6000 for the rear , and the front now has approx 8k. I think the front has 3k left in it. Maybe more. My bike weighs in at about 700 plus me at 210lbs. Still grip was amazing. Truly loved them for that . Sidewall was a little soft maybe. Hmm my debate now sits at them lasting for 6000, my stock tear is about 80 bucks more than the 777 and I’ve already gotten 6000 on it and it’s still looking beautiful, probably get at least another 4 off it if I didn’t get a nail

Yes, your mileage may vary. I will say this. They stick like glue. I know somehave said they slip issues, but I never experienced that. Rain or shine they held. Not that I pushed it in the rain, but just riding through heavy rain, wet braking... it did good. Cornering in the smokeys with the rear 777 it just held. Yes , pretty nice . I took off the front due to a little dry rot showing. They had approx 12k on them with still about 3 to 4mm to the wear bars. Grip was still decent , even in heavy rain. Just when I see dry rot... time to go. I replaced them with a new 777 which ended up oddly having a flat spot. I'm not sure how , but it caused a bad vibration and wobbles in turns. Very disturbing. I removed that and installed a commander 3 front. Still I feel the shinko 777 is a great front tire , just sometimes you can get a bad apple.
