My 777's don't even mind tar snakes in 100+ degree temps down here! I have been really impressed with them and have used them for the last 2 bikes I have owned. I have tried Pirelli's, Dunlops, Metzlers, Michelin's throughout the years of riding and I will buy Shinko from now on. I have been impressed as hell with the Shinko, especially in wet conditions. Nice review Dbest!

I had the same tires on my 2013 Honda Sabre 1300. I have to say that my Dunlop Sprout up about 4,000 miles. I got these and put 12,000 more miles on the bike and still had about 80% when I sold the bike! And I rode the hell out of that bike and also Road through cold and extremely hot temperatures. I took it on long-distance ride through the mountains, through City traffic and potholes, and all different kinds of riding conditions. I have to say that I am a fan of these tires. Right now I have a 2006 Softail Deluxe and am getting some White Walls this week. The problem is when I buy these tires off eBay I save a ton of money but I don't get the free installation. Right now at Harley-Davidson to get to whitewall tires for a Softail Deluxe they quoted me at $1,100

Good review. When I purchased my used 2008 Vulcan 900 Classic LT, it had Dunlop tires and it did "follow" the tar snakes. They weren't too bad but you definitely knew they were there. When it was time to replace them, I put on a pair of Michelin Commander II's and I still notice the tar snakes but not nearly as much as the Dunlops. I do love the handling of the Michelins though. Ride safe my friend.

Fellow rider, I have the same tires on my Kawasaki Vulcan. I love them. My bike came with Dunlops. They wore terrible, terrible mileage, and awful handling. These tires ride over lines in the road as if they weren't there. The bike leans into curves so well I have to be careful not to drop it, and they are fine in the rain. They were a good price. I'd definitely buy another set. Not sure about the mileage, but it appears it will be better than the Dunlops. Maybe your review will help other riders come to appreciate these fine tires as we have.

The commander 3 rear about 320 us The shinko 777 rear 100 us. Pound for pound the miles is better with the commander 2. Still not to knock the shinko . It is a very good tire . It offered very good grip, and feel. Just no longevity. If your paying someone to I stall tires the longer lasting is the better bet.

Excellent video thanks a lot …..after I had my first Shinko I wouldn’t buy anything else I know longevity is not as great as the Michelin, but I have to many bikes and my tires get old before worn out plus the only time I purchased a very expensive Michelin tire I caught a sheet metal screw kinda of too close to the sidewall, ended up throwing away with with about 300 miles ( I know not the tires fault) but noticed also they were a little too stiff at least to my taste, plus the shinko comes with white sidewalls which’s a nice choice to have on a cruiser…

I'm kind of at a loss right now. I'm thinking about these or the commander 2. I'm hearing great things about both, the price point looks great on the triple 7 but the commander 2's mileage looks great too. I live in an area that has extreme highs and decent lows, 28F-110F I ride year round. I know the softer compounds break down faster in high heat environments but I'm not really sure how the harder compounds in the commander will hold up in the cold and wet. Since you've ran both any thoughts? I'm replacing the exedras on a v star 650.

The 777 faired about just under 6k miles. I went back to a commander 2 in the rear which I got 18k out of before. I do have a 777 in the front, which has really been nice. it's performed good, and mileage should be about 9 to over 10k from the front tire. The commander 2 can handle the high heat, and the low temps. Just know though they don't like tar snakes. lol. The 777 in the front is a little more resilient , but on a 90 degree day ....... You will still notice them. lol Thank you for watching

I haven't had an issue in the wet, but I also don't push it in the wet, minimal lean and such. For what they are.... they have been good. The big savings is I mount them myself. Unless your able to remove the wheel and take it to get mounted, that would help with cost too. I estimate to get 9k to 10k out the rear. If I get to 9k, I will be happy. with a 170/70 I am a little limited.

Good review video. With a lot of people working on a limited budget, the Shinko brand-name is a little easier to purchase when big brand name tires. In my opinion, if you have to choose between keeping your brand-name tires which are worn to nothing or getting a brand new pair of less expensive tires, you’re better off with the less expensive, newer rubber.

My only issue with the rear has been mileage. 6k is short when I was hoping for 10k.

@@bakedbeanz4510 your mileage could be more. Due to your bike being lighter. Also depends on if your get the HD (Heavy DUTY) MODEL.

Yes, your mileage may vary. I will say this. They stick like glue. I know somehave said they slip issues, but I never experienced that. Rain or shine they held. Not that I pushed it in the rain, but just riding through heavy rain, wet braking... it did good. Cornering in the smokeys with the rear 777 it just held. Even with my top box loaded up with all the clothes I packed and didn't need on my trip

Any tire that ignores tar snakes is a good tire! I was going to get a pair of Shinkos for the Africa Twin, two pairs are worth the price of one set of TKC 80's. Do some testing on tar snakes with the bike leaned over... ;-)
@dbest1aVlogs5 жыл бұрын
Yeah they have been good so far. They repair the roads here with a lot of that tar stuff. Sucks . I am not sure how they would hold up to tk's. Hehe not even sure what type/class of tire that is... definitely research it and ask around.

How much mileage did you get out of them? I have an '08 Venture which is a similar bike. I do a lot of miles in a season. I hate disassembling the bike to get the rear tire off. And, I'm cheap.

These rear tires lasted about 6500miles. I would have been happier with 10k. I did end up going with a commander 2, which I am kind of ok with. I think next time I'm going with a shinko se890 in a 180/70/16

Bought these Shinko 777 for my ultra classic and experienced a wobble at 70 mph. Company still has not responded to my emails and phone calls about the issue and it has been 3 months. No support from Shinko. Yes I took them off and installed Michelin no more wobble. The front Shinko tire has a defect in it a flat spot and I didn’t check the rear just replaced both. 777’s are not designed for the big bagger, they are designed for cruiser size bikes. Shinko make a tire designed around the big baggers

I love my 777 great tires
@dbest1aVlogs3 жыл бұрын
Yes , pretty nice . I took off the front due to a little dry rot showing. They had approx 12k on them with still about 3 to 4mm to the wear bars. Grip was still decent , even in heavy rain. Just when I see dry rot... time to go. I replaced them with a new 777 which ended up oddly having a flat spot. I'm not sure how , but it caused a bad vibration and wobbles in turns. Very disturbing. I removed that and installed a commander 3 front. Still I feel the shinko 777 is a great front tire , just sometimes you can get a bad apple.

I ran a commander 2 after the rear shinko asthe shinko only got 6500 miles. Still I've been running the front which has been nice and I'm at 8k on that . I call maybe 9k before its a must change. Out of round issues suck , and can happen with any tire. Definitely I would have contacted either the dealer or the manufacturer.

I've never heard of tour masters. I got about 5500 out of the rear. The front is still going. I ended up swapping out the rear for a commander 2, cause I know I can get minimum 19k out of a rear commander 2. Which equals to about 100 bucks to 10k if I take it to 20k.. a little more than $100 but close. The c2 was 216. The 777 rear was 98.
