ok but, you do know what this video is in response to right? it is in response to a video (a few videos in fact) other local youtubers made, bringing down their own "friends"? so what you're saying is, if you are famous, you have all the rights to bring other people down, despite being in the same line of career? hun, there's a limit to every thing. celebrities get the most heat thrown at them, i agree. 'you want to be famous and pay the price', that i agree too. but being badly criticized by people YOU KNOW in the public eye, isn't that too much? ya, he cares about it as much as he implies he does not but, isn't it good? that at least someone in this local scene is speaking up about it?? at least he responded passively, not in an aggressive manner. as much as I respect your opinion, please respect mine as well. thank you & have a nice day. This is so true. Honestly, whether you're a vlogger/KZbinr or even an AMV editor. Many have click-bait thumbnails, there's tons of bullying going on just because a person has more popular friends or has thousands of subscribers, regardless of whether that bully is in the right or wrong. The old AMV community used to be kind and helpful but now everyone bows down to the "popular" editors and once the bully opens their mouth, you can kiss your editing career goodbye. And sadly, this isn't just happening in SG, it's happening on a universal scale. /: I think people in general are just getting from bad to worse honestly. It doesn't matter where you are from. T T

im actually so happy you spoke abt this. i've always been a fan (even tho i just subscribed from this account bc i hv a few accounts) & i've never rly had any sense of disappointment or hate towards you. i love that you dont get involved in this shade battle but instead, share your point of view and the huge difference between now and back then. 2015 is, i think, what started to pull relationships apart in the singaporean KZbin scene. it was pre difficult to watch. i've stopped subscribing to those who hv chosen to shade one another bc it's just annoying to see how arrogant ppl are nowadays.. call me sensitive but i miss the times when the whole Singaporean KZbin community was one.

This is why I don't like watching "mainstream" local KZbinrs, all that promotion of a need to live the affluent lifestyle, excessive sponsorships; it frankly disgusts me. I enjoyed watching Sam Driscoll and Darrenocl also but now they're not as active :-( I also loathe how mainstream media is trying to put a label on Singaporean youtubers... So what now? Every famous SG youtuber's gonna be an "influencer"? Don't make me cringe. Am still on a lookout for ORIGINAL, ENGAGING content, which isn't that hard to make once people quit hopping on those stupid tags and challenges bandwagon.

Oh gosh I'm so glad that you have this mindset, I hope most of the youtubers will watch your video about this. The fact that all of you by that I mean well known group of people, have the power to bring in good examples to viewers. Inspiring people, feeding viewers with positive thoughts, I mean honestly what human being feeds on to be a better person is seeing someone inspiring and motivating, besides all the drama, that's what we need. It's because those that are being helped is not being appreciative to one another , therefore things ended up this way . Things that matters needed to be sort but they ain't doing shit . Words meant to be said aren't being spoken . Feelings that was bad isn't being realised by the other parties. This is why things ended up like this. It's always started with someone like that and being outcast or decided not to contact them or what so reason. totally agree with what you say, noah. as youtubers ourselves, we just do what we love to do because it's our passion. We've seen so many other channels of various content, production value and popularity, but it is as you said, it should not be about the numbers, it's about helping one another, whether its related content or otherwise, and i feel that fellow youtubers should help one another in order to grow as a KZbin community as a whole, and not as a "insert my channel name" community. It's how western youtubers operate. Why should we be any different?

i’m watching this in 2017 and i really agree with what noah is saying, i’m a really really small singapore youtuber and i find it hard to even get people to watch my videos (even tho they are not very good) but tbh i find it quite funny like my whole theme of my channel is about anyone can watch ANY of my videos and enjoy it somehow even though the content doesn’t interest you so idk i’m kinda struggling now whether i should give up my childhood dream or not i really don’t want to but what’s the point of making videos and editin them if nobody is gonna watch anyways? if anyone is reading this pls leave a honest comment on what you think about my channel thanks for reading btw have a nice day :)

comment from 2020 here. came from a viral reddit thread regarding ryan, sylvia, dee kosh, and tan jian hao engaging in a "smash or pass" game on their own EMPLOYEES. found that extremely disgusting and uncomfortable. they even uploaded a video on it before. i found how the Singapore YT community to be extremely toxic (not all, but TJH, dee kosh and NOC are a few to name) and over sexualized. I was so disappointed at NOC's shading video. I get Deekosh and Jianhao, because they have issues with Ridhwan, but NOC! Them being the oldest of the bunch, I thought they will be the neutral party, or at least, mature enough to not do such video.
