Mine arrived today - same as this one. It's absolutely stunning in person, and writes beautifully

Excellent, informative video. Immense appreciation for re-uploading, "just" to fix the pronunciation. I wish more people actually cared for this short of things. Also, overall amazing channel. Tech, RPGs and fountain pens? Hell yeah!

Honestly, what caught my attention was that drop dead gorgeous Edson ! Unfortunately Edson ( if available) costs 4-5 times of a Carene 😞
@Irinikus3 жыл бұрын
The Edson definitely makes an impression! To this day, I rate it as being one of the most significant designs I’ve encountered! It’s definitely worth aiming for!

@@Irinikus Thanks ! At about 1000 USD, it is extremely unaffordable, so I’ll settle for a Carene Deluxe which I can get for about 160 USD here in India..

Did you buy the carene pen in India? I am looking to buy it as well So was asking for some tips on if it is good or not
@sathishrao7926 Жыл бұрын
@@nightshade7230 No. I didn’t.. I’ve shifted my focus to pocket fountain pens. I’ve collected 50+ pocket fountain pens so far !

Thank you for this review, just informative, as it has to be. I have the feeling while watching pen review that people just want to make a bit of money with the pen they just invested in. In this way, this video sands appart, thanks again.

Does the "stern" of this pen line up with the nib? Another reviewer complained that after a while it no longer lined up (that it seemed to have rotated relative to the nib)...

They need to bring back the Waterman Edson Its Lewis Edson Watermans name on it🧡📜🖋️

Lucky you. So beautiful to see the Carene and the Edson together. It is sad that they discontinued the Edson, although I cannot afford it. At least I do have the Carene, which is a "mini Edson". Are the nibs any different? They look the same, just one larger than the other.

If you like the Carene, you’ll love the Edson! When you write with the Carene, you can definitely feel that it’s derived from the Edson, as there are some similarities, however the Edson is definitely a more substantial pen in feel, heft and finish! I would definitely suggest that you aim to get one, if you enjoy the Carene. With all that being said, the Carene’s still a great pen! 🙂

Interesting review but I think the fact that you sometimes have to push the ink by the converter is a big defect and a huge problem.

Very nice. Does your Carene leak at all? I have heard of the Carene leaking from the intake hole and into the cap.

Thanks! Mine doesn’t leak at all.

There are a great difference between Waterman Elegance and Waterman Edson and Exception about writing and working?
@Irinikus3 жыл бұрын
The nice thing about Waterman is that their different pens do indeed offer very different writing experiences!

The Carene was one of my grail pens. Sadly, it did not live up to its beauty as a good writer. I found it to be like writing with a nail, even after having the nib tuned.
@Irinikus11 ай бұрын
The Carene and the Edson both write like nails, as both their nibs are curved in longitudinal and lateral axes, causing them to be very stiff! The benefit that you get from this is a highly regulated ink flow, the downside is that the nibs have very little to no flex.

Hey man are you south african? If so where do you buy your pens from? I'm deciding between the carene and the pilot custom 823
@Irinikus3 жыл бұрын
I am South African! I bought most of my Montblanc pens from the local Montblanc boutique and most of my Waterman pens from"Pen and Art", when they were still in business. I've also had to import a few of them. Although I don't have a Pilot Custom 823, it does look to be a good pen.
@Brunkvic4 жыл бұрын
I've heard this pen has an extremely rigid nib, is that your experience?
@Irinikus4 жыл бұрын
The nib is curved in both its longitudinal and lateral axes, as a result, I term it a “stressed nib” so it has little to no flex, but it glides across the page like a little sports car with a stiff suspicion. Even though there’s little to no flex on the nib, it has impeccable control over its ink flow, and is extremely reliable to write with as a result! Just make sure to keep it well inked though.

Ive not heard of the Edson before - a girthier, more striking pen. When was it last produced? Another video stated the careen has a tendency to seep ink through the hole on the underside on the. Section if overfilled -true?
@Irinikus4 жыл бұрын
The Edson was discontinued sometime around 2017. I haven't personally experienced that problem with my Carène.
