I have dental fluorosis (pronounced opaque white spots on two teeth) from when I was a child. I've been using fluoride free toothpaste and alcohol/fluoride free mouthwash for a little over a year now and haven't had any cavities or additional tartar buildup. Many dentistry professors brush with water. Brushing is mainly about gum health anyway, and the bristles with water do that. Cavities happen in little crevices that often don't get hit with the brush. Dental carries are more about nutrition than habits, since we get more dental carries than ancient Roman and Greek skulls, and they got more than hunter gatherers in the last ice age (perfect teeth with no dentistry or brushing). Keep yourself fluoridated if you want! Remember to eat your goyslop as well 😅

I still use toothpaste, but I use fluoride free. The only times in my life that I've had cavities were when I was using fluoride toothpaste and drinking lots of tap water. I've had severe depression to where I didn't brush my teeth for 3-4 weeks at a time and came out with my teeth in better shape than using fluoride for a week.
