@@HockeyDudeJames2Zack was only there after 2021. Also, Zack beat the breaks off of this same Miami team, when Tua was out after the Cincinnati game early in 2022. Zack Wilson put up like 40 points on Miami. Skylar Thompson helped him do it.

@@HockeyDudeJames2 it wasn’t because Tyreek was injured. They had a fucking 14 point lead with less than 3 minutes left in the game, facing a rookie QB. Vic Fangio and his awesome defensive system gave up 15 points in under 3 minutes, and the run game wasn’t good enough to grind the clock because of all the injuries that happened across the o line by that point in the season. They had 1 starter on the line. The right tackle. The rest were back ups and back ups for backups, and some of them were already hurt. They literally beat the jets 30-0 without Tyreek ever putting pads on. The problem wasn’t Tyreek getting hurt. The problem was everything else that happened prior to then. That just became the single piece of straw that ultimately wasn’t much of anything on its own. But when you put all of those instruments together, you end up with a whole marching band worth of shit that becomes much harder to overcome.

Calling the Dolphins healthy when they faced the Titans when they were entered the game missing 3 O-Line starters and lost a 4th for the rest of the year after 6 snaps on the opening drive is certainly an interesting take. For people who dont acknowledge pass protection exists, do they think Mahomes just had an off game in Tampa in 2020 when he+Tyreek+Kelce managed 9 total points?

What are tuas numbers if he has a starting o line for 17 games? He was already leading passer.. I'll tell you , he over laps the field How many wins does tua have with 5 starters for 17 games?! Those first few games are gonna be very hard; the weather could condition the Dolphins late in the season to be better if they can make the playoffs. There's actually positives from this schedule, the Dolphins could get boosted going into a post-season run. Tua must stay healthy, that's the key to everything for them.

Those who object should consider this: Tua's salary is a fraction of the team's operating budget, but if talks break down and the season starts on a bad foot then the entire team budget is wasted. Since there are maybe 5 QBs in the league who can run this scheme; to get another who can or to change the scheme would not be easily possible in the time frame.

Hey who do you think the 5 are? I was thinking only Nick Foles or Mahomes might be able to run the offense as good as Tua. I mean, it's not just the arm talent, but the speed and accuracy. I don't think Dak or even Aaron Rodgers would do that good and they'd have to modify the scheme.

Barnwell at least had a different take on the late season issues. Running the ball more is a priority and signing Aaron Brewer and drafting Jaylen Wright should bolster the running game. The offense lost some juice when Achane was injured but with Wright you have another speed back who can also break tackles and pass protect.

Both sides have a point. Wilkins was a rock solid, durable presence on the line and will definitely be missed. Van Ginkel was a tremendous third edge rusher who will also be missed. Xavien Howard was a previously great CB whose contract was too rich for his 2022/2023 actual performance. Baker was a decent MLB with substandard run support ability. Miami upgraded at safety, upgraded at CB, upgraded at LB, but downgraded on the DLine. Their 2 best edge rushers are both coming back from major injuries, so until/if they return to full strength they will be degrades there as well. The 2 new rookie edge rushers are wildcards. Between their unknown play and JP/Chubb's unknown return dates of their usual output that could be anywhere from a substantially worse to better group

The dolphins never fixed the O-line since Tua got there…the scheme definitely hides their flaws because Tua has the highest passer rating when he gets the ball out quick…and then drops to 15th in the league when he needs more than 2.5 seconds to throw the ball…Armstead is always hurt and everyone else is patch work…till they fix this issue they will never go far into the playoffs

We won't know how difficult it will be until the season ends. Prior to week 1 last year their 2023 schedule was considered top 5 in difficulty, but due to lots of strong 2022 teams dropping several wins in 2023, wound up being one of the easiest in the league

I think that indirectly, Tom Brady and Sean Payton are the ones most responsible for Tua's success. I think if the Dolphin's owner Stephen Ross didn't get caught tampering, they would've ended up either with Brady as their QB, or at least would have acquired Deshaun Watson. Sean Payton might have replaced Flores instead of McDaniel. And Ross would not have opened the checkbook for guys like Armstead, Tyreek, and the other high profile free agents that they signed and the Dolphins would have still sucked. I wonder if Ross still wanted to tank for another QB next year, or try to trade for CJ Stroud or whomever he's currently fixated on, but was convinced otherwise.

This is so Dolphins! Obvious why they’re a basement level NFL franchise. When a QB shows you he’s not the guy when you aren’t paying him BELIEVE HIM. Tua is average at best and you can’t pay that guy $50M+ and expect to win. But every team isn’t looking to win a SB! The Dolphins just want a tiny shred of relevance to sell season tickets.. that’s all Tua will get you! Maybe you’ll sneak into the wildcard here or there but he won’t get you over the hump! Can’t play in cold weather or beat good teams. Those two limitations alone should disqualify you from a second contract. He also has no mobility and a below average NFL arm. What a JOKE!

Derek Carr is "average". Jacoby Brisett is "average". I don't know if Tua is the guy to take them all the way, and I personally hate the Dolphins(I'm a Pats fan, sorry), but Tua is clearly an ABOVE average NFL quarterback. In fact, well above average.
