I had Sara Middas book for years but it got lost in a house move 😢 So nice to see it in your collection. And I studied Paul Hogarth at uni

Thank you for sharing these gorgeous books and your thoughts about them, Lis. I have Sara Midda's book but the others are new to me and I am off to search for a copy of the Graham Greene Country book so I can see Hogarth's work up close. Great video!

Thank you for this. I'm off to find Hogarth's book! I have Sara Midda's wonderful books but these aging eyes have a hard time enjoying the beautiful details which are so small. I went out and bought a lighted magnifier specifically to enjoy her books. I wonder why she chose to make the images so small. Large edition anywhere?

Yes, the Sara Midda book is very small. I wonder if they would work on a larger scale?

What exactly did inspire you the most in his work? @@LisWatkins

@@MaxRichter-v9uI really like the strong use of watercolour values/tones and the way he creates a whole scene in his images. He lets the watercolour ‘pool’ and create edges and I really enjoy seeing that in sketches.

@@LisWatkins Thank you Lis, I can see that all in his drawings, indeed. I like how he often playes with perspective and colours. And his humour especialy in the way he drawes people in his works.
