i love this. my girlfriend hates spicy food and cant handle it at all. she cant even handle when i add alot of garlic to stuff. i love spicy stuff. we have always talked about how its most likely from our parents. (mine loving spice and always having me try different spicy food, my dad having hot pepper contests with me and i always pretended it wasnt hot at all lol. where as her parents preferred to serve more bland, lightly seasoned food, never spicy) she told me she agrees, she wishes her parents would have introduced her to more flavors so she could handle more spices. once we have kids, we have both decided we will expose them to so many different flavors at a young age to not miss out like she does.

I remember my sister's first time eating spicy food we set the table with all the condiments (including Mexican homemade salsa not that Tostitos shit) and the baby was ready in her high chair as we grabbed plates and served ourselves spot her reaching for the spoon and drinking the salsa 😂 she made a 😖 face then went for another spoonful 😌 after that we started giving her pickled onions carrots and jalapeños to start and some milder salsas Also for that burning if its from pepper veins use lemon to get rid of the burn (like from hands I know ive gotten burning fingers a few times) and for your mouth sprinkle some salt into your mouth or dab your tongue then swish a bit before sipping some water

I have been putting curry and cumin (among other spices) in my daughter’s food since I was making her baby food (after I knew she wasn’t allergic to the foods introduced). She loves it. She’s been eating those wings you gave your daughter since she was about 14 months old (only a few times at her Tita’s). She’s 19 months old now and this crazy baby has taken a swig of Tabasco when I walked out of the room (& went in for more😱). The other day I was eating those UTZ hot chips and she wouldn’t leave me alone. I gave her a heavily seasoned one (thinking she wouldn’t like it). This girl sucked air into her mouth said “hot hot hot” as she waved her hand in front of her mouth. BUT she wanted more!!! I don’t give my daughter junk food or sugar, so I declined. I only did it bc I thought she wasn’t going to like. Stupid mommy. She’s half Irish (me) and half Colombian (daddy). Her daddy can’t handle ANY spice (like an uber baby) and I spice up everything. You’d think it’d be the other way around🤷♀️
