Brat (remixed) 10. radical Optimism by dua I know I’m going to get flack for a particular album being included but when you actually listen to the album and let yourself know the music without outside opinion it easily her best and most cohesive to date.

@ yes thank you for that! I think for me this year I went based on what I think was brought to the table as a whole in the album within itself. And I think my choices reflect that. Not always based on whether others like it or not. Sometimes my fav albums are never #1. 😂 and that’s okay! If we enjoy the music that’s what’s most important! I do think either way, it’s hard for me personally to say I don’t like something without hearing them in full. Wish others did the same!

I just did my own albums ranking video for this year last night. Mine is more of an unhinged ramble.... I love Halsey, hell my first video in over a year was a month ago on the whole Pitchfork/NeedleDrop reviews drama. Of course I loved the album, I just wish she'd put Alice of the Upper Class earlier in the album, the title track is such a perfect ending I feel Brat summarises my feelings on music this year; It's been better for singles than albums for me. I wasn't super fussed on Brat as a whole but I looooove the singles; Von Dutch, Apple, Guess, Girl so confusing, Spring breakers, 365. The only "smaller" track off of this I really liked was I think about it all the time cos oooof that hits the late 20s/early 30s "wtf am I doing with my life" vibes dead on point blank no scope dead centre. I'm intrigued to see what next year brings, I wanna try to diversify my tastes a bit more again I took it more chill this year (85 albums, which is like half of 2022's count) and in some ways felt my taste in general was a bit dull and obvious and needs spicing up in a way
