Binge watching your videos since last night because im getting the old tank from my parents. They didnt keep any fish for years now and i finally got my own apartment. Its only 60l but i dont plan on more than some guppys, kuhli loaches and ghost shrimps. Im so hyped, definitely want a big wood center piece😩💖

Hi MJ, I’ve been a huge fan of your work, and your aquascapes in 2024 were absolutely mesmerizing, inspiring, and truly a feast for the eyes. It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, it would be your stunning Dutch-style aquascape with that gorgeous Bacopa salzmannii purple centerpiece-it’s pure magic! I was wondering if you could create an updated guide for 2025 on algae types and solutions, along with other challenges like water parameters, lighting, and the general hurdles you face while aquascaping. Your older videos on these topics are fantastic, but a fresh take would be incredibly helpful for us hobbyists. Thank you for continuing to inspire us with your incredible talent! ❤❤🙂

Thank you for your incredible videos! As a total beginner, I’m so grateful for your knowledge, step-by-step advice and artistic skills. They’ve all been invaluable as I prepare to set up my Oase 125. Following your guidance, I’ve carefully gathered everything I need to hopefully get things right from the start. Your calm and intelligent approach makes learning such a rewarding experience. You’re an incredible teacher, and your passion shines through in everything you do!

It's always enjoyable to watch you create these amazing scapes and none of them dissapoint. Any suggestions for aqua plant books with the information of each plant similar to what you put in your videos?

Check out the books from Christel kasselmann

Her books look really interesting. But very expensive! $806.00 on Amazon. Any other suggestions?

@@MJAquascaping I'm looking for a simple affordable book that gives the plants requirements and characteristics and where they should be placed etc.

Hello from Vancouver, Canada, Mark. You are a stellar Aquascaper and also fantastic teacher. 1. Can you please tell us how you get great fish colour, esp in chilli rasborras? 2. Can you explain the technique for planting a little more in-depth? How deeply embedded, how the pincettes widen as you release the plant? Thanks for sharing your perfect aquascapes with us - and generously showing us your algae/cycling moments (encouraging!)

I always keep some old substrate an old dirty gravel then wash all the rest of gravel and then put in some places down old gravel then put all the clean rest above, plant with old plants but clean trim and check and put water from 4-5 buckets depend from water amount that I need and start filter on and when temp of water is good just put fishes back there never were any problems👍 some time I just add clay balls to clean gravel to support big plants when gravel is clean without organic material and the roots needs npk😅
