I love all my stamps. So many different varieties and topics and countries. I always enjoy watching all my stamp videos from all who are on KZbin. So Thank you for taking time and producing these . Happy collecting and Happy Labor Day

Your videos are always a joy to watch…you are so enthusiastic about stamps and life itself. I am an A.M.G. collector, and my favorite set is the 1st Control Council issue, especially on covers, followed by the AM Post sets/issues. I collect these sets very specialized, and particularly enjoy them on covers. The historical/social history side of things I find particularly interesting. Anyway, keep on collecting and making such awesome videos. Regards, Stephan

Yeah, picking my favorite stamp was tough. I changed my answer 3 times before settling on US 122. I love US38 because it's a classic stamp, it's beautiful, fairly high value for the time, and it's Ben Franklin. And then I was going to put C14 out of the set of C13, C14 and C15 Graf Zeppelins because I inherited an album from my Grandparents and the album had some cool stuff, but nothing really of value...except a set of those 3 1930-issue Graf Zeppelins. Plate singles, too. And the C14 is in such beautiful shape and just so perfectly centered and such a cool design that I fell in love and it is what got me started in the hobby. I ended up changing my answer again to US122, which is of course, the iconic 90c bi-color Lincoln from the 1869 Pictorial issues and that is the answer I settled on. It was hard for me not to say US38 and especially the C14 Graf Zeppelin air mail stamp because of my personal history with the Graf Zeppelins, but we can only pick 1 absolute favorite, I suppose. Thanks again for the great content and community! Keep up the great work making great content.

Love your enthusiasm for collecting stamps As favourites go I just love my penny red plate collection, I have 11 complete sets less plate 77 of course, and another 5,000 in my second collection. Keep the videos going.

I like your nice copy of GB 1, the Penny Black. I have one of these, inherited from my Dad's collection. You have some great stamps in your current top ten... I'd encourage you and your viewers to check out some of the stamps of Mexico, especially the airmail issues of the University series from the 1930's; many of those issues from Mexico are among my favorites. The 1 pound Postal Union Congress stamp is a favorite. Another favorite is the 6-cent Crater Lake stamp from the early US National Parks series. If it was engraved, it is a great stamp. Thanks for another interesting video !

I also love that your #10 pick was a stamp you picked because of the Chicago CDS on it as much as the stamp itself. I am a fan of collecting stamps with the city I grew up in on them and am trying to fill my collection with as many of those CDS stamps as possible, along with mint versions. I just bought the $5 Columbian with a SOTN CDS of my home city, and it shipped yesterday. Can't wait to get it, and I love that I'm not alone in seeking out that type of stamp as a focus of my collecting.

Excellent pickup! That's a bucket list stamp for me... and to have a Chicago cancel on it (for me) would be icing on the cake...

Fantastic episode Mr Silk, i really enjoyed this one. I'm having to think hard before i can decide what my favourites are, as a collector of mostly Great Britain stamps the penny black is a favourite. But you have added more elements to this , well done for capturing the imagination to cover history, design, family connection , location of post cancellation and those little things that make stamp collecting so great 🙂 i will have to watch this again and put a favourite list together. Thanks for another great video . Terry from Devon uk

Western cattle in the Storm is definitely my favorite. The US zeppelins too. And the penny blacks. For cancels, I enjoy those of France. Not for aesthetic reasons, but because they can say a lot about the stamp use. There are foreign cancellations, maritime cancels, ambulant (rail) cancels, special cancellations for Paris and others.

Love your videos! My favorite series is the West German Industrial Design series, or the 70s west german work hazard series. Just very silly and whimsical and fun to find in a lot versus the 10000th stamp with a British Monarch's face.

Enjoyed seeing your choices. And yes, I agree that the King George VI £1 King George VI stamp from Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika is a particularly beautiful stamp. I think, like you, it would be very hard for me to choose a favourite stamps from my collection. It's a bit like asking you to choose your favourite child, but if I did have to, I would possibly go for the 1895-1896 Zanzibar overprint on stamps of India with d for b error (Zanzidar) on 1 anna plum.

A really enjoyable video, reminding us all about what a fantastic hobby we have. One of my favourite stamps is basically worthless: when I was about six years old I had one of those German hyper-inflation stamps- one of those that every schoolboy loved (Six Hundert Millionen!!!). Sadly it was mint, with the used ones worth actual money. In my innocence I decided to make it ‘used’ with a blue biro… I still have it and it taught me an important lesson about honesty, forgeries and provenance!

I'm glad to see the scammers haven't dampened your spirit and love for doing what you do :), Belive i posted my favourite stamp comment on my other account (matthewgillard####). Was the £1 postal union my grandad hand drew back in the 60s-70s that i have now since made my channels picture of the actual stamp he made 😊. Amazing range of favourites silk, June's album, i still get left speechless everytime its mentioned and shown, just an amazing, well presented, and looked after album that you can see and tell her love for stamps 😊

Thank you, again an enjoyable video. I smiled when I saw you had to extend a singular favourite to 10 favourites. 😆 There are so many stamps that are absolutely beautiful and special, that it is really not easy to choose just one favourite above all others. I liked all your choices, but I especially liked the Kenya-Uganda-Tanganyika stamp very much. I saw it before, but now for the first time looked at it closely. That trans-Mississippi stamp makes me too sad. Thanks again for the video!

I have to say the penny black I got from an old album is one if not the 1 favorite. was told that a great aunt had passed and they sold the Lincoln album that she had had started as a child to me. Being as it was full I am still removing individual stamps into my own albums.Told the lady that the collection was going to be cherished.

I’m super new to the hobby and want to start a US stock book collection. Where do I find the books that have the pictures of the different stamps, what are they called and where does a fella get the strips that you mount them in at? Maybe it is because it’s because of my lack of knowledge with the different terminology that I can’t find these things in a search. You’re help would be appericiated.

Welcome to the hobby! It's fantastic... First, take a look at my Beginners Guide to Collecting Stamps series, there's some videos in there that may help... I think what you're referring to are catalogues (they have every stamp listed, pictures and give a sense of value). I'm going to do a video on how to use the soon. The plastic cases that hold stamps are called mounts, and there may be a stamp shop in your area that carries them... the American Philatelic Society has a page on their website with a list...

My No. 1 is definitely the first definitive issue from Western Germany, the legendary "Posthorn set" from 1951. Classic design, very affordable in used condition but also the key set of this country in unmounted mint condition. In it´s best times around 1980, this set was sold for around 5.000 bucks. Greets from GER, U.

My #1 is certainly unusual. It's a Great Britain Machin from 1972, £1, Scott # MH168. It has a tear, surface damage, and even an awful TAPE STAIN! 😮😭 When I was 7, my dad and grandfather, both lifelong collectors, had a soaking session so big that we used the bathtub. I saw this Machin among many others and said I would one day have them ALL! This was also the moment at which I declared myself a serious philatelist 🤩 (I'm still working on the Machins. My whole worldwide collection probably numbers about 500,000 and my life goal is 1 million. (Please don't tell my wife! 😂)
