Much Respect. Metal Gear Solid is my favorite game of all time too. I always go back and replay it every few years, such a masterpiece. That same year gave us MGS and Zelda The Ocarina Of Time, another one of my favorite games of all time. It was such a great year for gaming.

Great video Steve its good to hear the games you enjoy. I love watching your channel and Game Sack. You have helped me figure more games to play. I play on original hardware and emulation because both is cool. Original hardware gives you that nostalgic feel of putting a game into a console. I also love emulation because it has a bunch of options and you can even change the aspect ratio which is cool.

Left 4 Dead was a favorite of mine and I am old as shit 48 this year. My daughters loved playing this game as well and it is the best 4 player co-op or versus game.

One of my favorites I remember playing was a gem called ICO for the ps2. Super underrated & obscureish. Heavy rain & beyond two souls are great too. & Yeah, that Jason yelling scene was a joke between me & my old buddies for the longest time. 😂

It's always interesting to see another gamer's list of favorite games. Making a top 10 list would be nearly impossible for me, so my "top 10" list contains 20 games with each entry being a tie. Pokémon hits that nostalgia on a different level. Favorite games of all time always looking forward to the next one. Silver edition back in the day blew my mind when you could go back to kanto after beating the game. Tony hawk games were great just picked up number 3 again. Great picks brother!

As a Resident Evil fan, I'll say this. I think RE2 remake does many things that honestly, I prefer in the original. I think some characters like Chief Irons and Annette Birkin are a bit better in the OG. However, those are just minor things, really what keeps RE2 remake from true perfection as what I want in a remake... the practical removal of the A/B scenario. Yes, it is technically there, but it's very clear it was put in at last minute, starting from the first Birkin boss it's practically the same game minus some puzzle solutions, item placements, and the ending, not to mention there is no continuity connection between scenarios. Whereas a big thing in the original not only the fact that the continuity connected, but also how the story would have a few changes depending on what on the order of characters. Also, the zapping system. Despite all that though I think what makes RE2 remake better for me is how dang well the game plays, level design is top notch, so many decisions have to be made, it's S tier on being a survival horror game. RE3 is my personal favorite RE game though, easily the best of the ps1 games... and worst of the remakes sadly.

We have a Quantic Dreams fan here 😄 I also like their games, I don't think they are perfect, but for me they were entertaining enough. Beyond is hated by so many people and I can see why. I personally have mixed feelings about it. The good things I can say is the capture performance and the graphics and animation were really top notch at the time and I dare say that they hold up very well even today on the PS3. I like the actors and their performances, but that's all the good things I can say about the game, unfortunately.

I’ve never liked RE4 personally but I know that it’s beloved by many fans. I would recommend playing Heartgold or Soulsilver if you’re interested in that era. Lots of quality of life updates and such. I only chose the original for my list because that is the version I’ve played a lot of.

For me top 10s tend to shift with both Age or Era of mental state. Back when I was a naïve kid who just owned a N64, GBA, and Game Cube. I could've made a pretty simple top 10 list of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Super Smash Bros Melee LoZ Ocarina of Time Metroid Prime Star Soldier Vanishing Earth Majora's Mask Castlevania Legacy of Darkness Megaman Battle Network 3 Custom Robo Megaman Anniversary Collection(GC) Teenager me who always watched G4Tv after coming home from School. Who sold a majority of my GC & GBA collection for a PSP and PS2 probably would've said something like. KH2 FF10 Symphony of the Night(from the Dracula X Chronicles PSP) Original GoW True Crime Streets of LA KH Birth by Sleep(PSP) Catlevania Curse of Darkness Crisis Core FF7(PSP) Dirge of Cerberus FF7 Tekken 5 Young Adult me who started a job and finally had a fair amount of disposable income for a PS3, Vita, and 3DS. Along with wanting to collect Limited Editions of titles I genuinely cared about. Probably would've said Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS UMvC3 999(DS) Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Hotline Miami 2 Kid Icarus Uprising Castlevania Lords of Shadow Dragon's Crown Alice Madness Returns BlazBlue Chronophantasma Castlevania Harmony of Despair Current me wouldn't really know how to sort through PS4, PS5, Switch, and Gacha era. There's been quite a lot of solid titles overall from non-AAA studios. Right now! More than ever the indies are becoming the backbone of Gaming from what I've seen. With exception to some Inti Creates, Yakuza, Atlus, Kiseki, and Nintendo stuff.

You’re right about favorites changing. There were loads of other games I considered for my top 10 including Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Skate 3, Fight Night Champion, Halo Reach and plenty more. I’m sure my favorites will shift over time as well as they have in the past. I’ve always heard that the Alice game is great but I haven’t tried it yet.

@@steviefreakinc From what I remember Alice Madness Returns kind of plays and aesthetically feels like Ninja Theory's DmC: Devil May Cry. I always considered DmC as its own thing despite being marketed as a DMC reboot back then(leading to a Playstation All Stars rep slot). If you haven't gotten into the "Devil May Cry" franchise yet! I'd honestly start with Ninja Theory's DmC. Given nostalgia expectations can ruin an experience for some just looking back at Lords of Shadow's Mirror of Fate's 3DS & PS3's LoS2 or Drakengard 3 launch reception. Along with Prince of Persia 2008! Even tho I genuinely liked all games mentioned. On a count that I always try to see the good in each game I play. Plus! I'm just that damn loyal to some of these franchises. Madness Return's story is a bit of a dark mind fuck twist on the classic Alice in Wonderland, and when I bought it digitally came bundled with the PC port of "American McGee's Alice" which Madness is a sequel to. Honestly that PC port was a bit rough and clunky to play. Really gave me that old school 1990s PC platformer nostalgia tho. Sadly the 3rd entry Asylum which took American McGee almost a decade to work on its script got rejected by EA(Who also own the IP). It really burnt out McGee from any form of future development. Even if it gets green lit over the sudden post-retirement interest. He's just enjoying his life now while posting mental state Rabbit plush merch. I honestly considered American McGee's Madness Returns right up there with Sudda51's No More Heroes, Killer7, and Shadows of the Damned. It'd be a dream collab to see Suda51 get American McGee on board with a long anticipated Shadows of the Damned 2 sequel. Anyway apologies for the rambling, and yeah! I recommend every game mentioned on this post. If you're interested in games to give a try.

I enjoyed that era of wrestling games where you couldn’t cheat or pay your way to the end game. Nowadays you just pay $5 and get everything. Pretty sad because they’re teaching kids that Hard work is for the birds and money talks.

Nothing wrong with that man. Xbox is awesome. That’s a decent top 5 as well. I used to play a lot of Jedi Academy on OG Xbox. I have played Knights of the Old Republic too. I haven’t had the time to get into Mass Effect yet but I definitely plan to one day. I have the trilogy on 360. RE4 is good and I know people love it but that was the one that lost the RE appeal for me. I didn’t even finish it but I probably got about 75% through it

It is hard lol. There were a lot of games I had as honorable mentions but left that out. Guitar Hero and Rock Band for example. American Truck Simulator. The Sims games. Call of Duty. It was just too tough to put them in any specific order lol. But this top 10 are games I’ve played a lot of hours on so it suits me.
