Great list! 30 days of night is such an underrated horror movie imo. Its a perfect movie to throw on during the winter time especially.

Cold Ground 2017 ...set in the mid 1970s, journalists head into the Swiss mountains to investigate strange cattle mutilations, and from there - of course - things go awry. Not a _great_ flick by any means, but fairly well done found footage/Blair Witchy sorta thing.

I saw Let the right one in At the cinema, I had to drive two hours to the Theater that was playing it as well. It is the Best Vampire film I’ve ever seen, Hauntingly Beautiful. I also saw The Thing at the cinema with my mom (she was a horror fan) it was just us two. Every body else was too scared to go. I was scared shitless (I was 12) but it made me a Carpenter fan for life. Excellent list.

Hi Jess. Great selection. You can't go wrong with 30 Days of Night, Let the Right One In, and The Wolf of Snow Hollow, but it's The Thing (1982) that also sits atop my list of favourite horror films. I'll never forget staying up to watch the tv premier of it when I was around 9 years old, and being creeped out by the building dread in the opening scenes. I didn't make it past the dog kennel, and it took years for me to return to it.

AWWWWEESSSSOME list Omg !! I’m so excited to check the lodge and let the right one in ( seems perfect ) 30 days of night it’s the ultimate winter movie cause imagine being stuck there :( Terrifying Also , I 100% recommend the movie ‘Frozen’ from 2010 , a perfect and terrifying snowy film and also wrong turn 4 ( a cheesy fun snowy slasher ) and also slasher season 2

I agree that Let the Right One In is one of the best vampire movies, I'm surprised it's not talked about more. Still haven't seen the Matt Reeves version, but Reeves is a good director so I'm sure I'll like it!

The Reeves one is solid in its own way, I prefer the original but it almost feels hard to compare the two

Gary's death in The Thing is one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen on film. What makes it so bad is imagining what is coming out of those finger tips and palm going into Gary's face and mouth and the idea of the sensation he's feeling as he's being assimilated. That shit stresses me out every time I see it.

Great great list! Around Christmas time is when I love to reach for these. The Shining is one of the absolute greatest isolation winter films… can not understand how people would leave it off. Happy to see The Wolf Of Snow Hollow in here as well! I so wish I liked the Lodge because of the setting but oh my gosh how stupid that film is. When you find out what’s going on, I just can’t get past how absurd it is.

Great call on Let The Right One In... phenomenal and purely winter. I never bothered with the remake for the exact reasons you gave lol you should look into doing a livestream for one of these lists.

While Let The Right One In is my favorite vampire movie, as far as pointless American remakes go, Let Me In was fine (actually that version I saw first). Remember how in the original, the gym sequence that leads to the dude burning off his face with acid? The American version completely replaces that with him hiding in the back of a car, leading to a big car crash. That's a sequence/complete change the American remake did better, so I give it a point for that.

Also I just watched Orphan for the first time, and I’m shocked that I managed to avoid the twist ending for the past 12 years lol. But Unfortunately I watched the sequel and didn’t like it at all. Almost felt like a parody, especially Julia Stile’s over the top acting

Great list! Can't go wrong with any of them😊 Here are a few that I watched growing up in a cold, snowy climate in upstate NY. 1) Wind chill 2) The children 3) Frozen 4) Shredder and 5) Dead of winter(1987). Almost forgot about 6) The thaw. I think you'd enjoy them.
