Ah, what a great list. I get the feeling that we're of a similar age, and the 'Slippery...'/'Final Countdown' gateway comments were spookily familiar. I must admit that I prefer most of the following albums from these bands ('Pump', 'New Jersey', 'Long, Cold Winter', even 'Open Up...' ) but you've taken me right back to my school days and I can't thank you enough. Like you, I don't tire of most of this list and I won't get into 'LWTCDI', as I know we disagree. Keep doing what you're doing, pal. It's superb.

You brought it home with this one and the way you even defend a few of the things that we all think we have heard enough made me pull out things like “Slippery When Wet” and gain a new appreciation for it. Awesome group of 80s glam! There were only 2 that I don’t own myself. I’m always on the lookout for that Vain CD, I remember Headbanger’s Ball playing the video for “Beat The Bullet”. Also, I’ve never heard of Baton Rouge, I’ll have to check them out. Great video Mike!

I bought Stay Hungry back when it first came out in 1984 and really loved it so much. A true classic metal album. It's a very close 2nd. To You Can't Stop Rockin Roll in my opinion. Night Songs is my most favorite Cinderella album ever. What a great great album. Cool video Mickey. Stay safe metal brother.\m/🙂

Kool picks mate. I was unaware of Aerosmith untill the Pump album came out. Love In An Elevator was my introduction. No Respect, Look What The Cat Dragged In and Stay Hungry are fantastic. I have that Baton Rouge on cassette. Like you i had never heard of them back in the day. Dr Feelgood is my favourite Crue album and Wake Me When Its Over is my fav Faster Pussycat. But your picks are killer too in my opinion. Great stuff😀🤘

Great list and highlighting a great genre 🤘I have heard glam also called pop metal before. Pump was my intro into Aerosmith and I love it. I don’t know Vain so now gotta check it out!! Slippery, FP and GnR would definitely make my top 10. Van Halen and Ratt would make an appearance in my list.🤘

You should do a Top 10, I'm always keen to find ones I've never heard. I'm sure there's loads I'd like out there and not heard yet but I find Glam Metal CDs to be pretty pricey.

Didn't know three of those. My experience was pretty much the same as with you on Permanent Vacation and Pump. Surprised to Night Songs so high, glad of it. Of the ones i do know, i would've put Poison lower. Great list and reasons behind it. Pasi

Righteous video sir. A good primer for those getting into glam. Kinda like a Cliff Notes Glam Cram. Now dive into Seduce,Shotgun Messiah, TigerTailz,Britny Fox etc etc etc. Best lp on your list by a long mile is Vain. Cheers

Solid list Mike! A few of those I've not heard as yet. While I can't argue with your number one out of that list I wouldn't call it glam metal, but let's not fall out over it. I predicted Vain to be higher given the praise you've given it in the past. That is one of the ones I've not heard though. Great video!

Great list mate and fair play for giving Bon Jovi the respect they deserve as I feel that like Metallica people give them a lot of unnecessary shit. Cinderella's Night Songs is pretty much a perfect album with the only downside for me being Nobody's Fool where as deeper cuts like Once Around The Ride and Push Push are brilliant. Hair metal was great like you said they had some great guitar players .first band I ever saw live was winger at the queens hall in Bradford Reb beach was on guitar he now playes with whitesnake .l alway loved mike tramps voice from white lion too I couldn’t believe it when there bass player James Lomoenza later joined megadeth .maybee you could do nu metal or death metal next cheers dean

Uh... yes, Stay Hungry is one of the queen albums of glam metal. I'm not sure who thought otherwise. 🤣 As much as I hate glam/hair metal, I always enjoy conversing about it because the generation always plays a role. To me, being from the 2000s, it's not a metal subgenre; it's hard rock. That is why most of those bands are not on Metal Archives. As for those from the '80s, like yourself, it's metal. Now, there is only one glam metal/rock album that I do enjoy. It is Night Songs by Cinderella. I really enjoy it, and I love the cover, too. Cheers, mate! Stay healthy. 🤘🤘🤘

Gun's n Roses was my gateway drug into music! I was thinking theres no way you would choose Faster Pussycat..and then you did. Also really pleased to see Vain. One band that you might know was Love/Hate...Black out in a red room...that would of made my list. Also Dokken were pretty glam rock and I enjoyed there stuff, some was a bit thrashy too.

From Appetite you go down a Hollywood sleaze vain, there you will find the faster pussycats but you will also find Rhino Bucket, Junkyard, Dangerous Toys, Asphalt Ballet, Bang Tango, Bullet Boys, Electric Boys, LA Guns and many many more. It was the glam movement but they were more street more blues influenced and a lot less makeup and hair spray.

Traditional HM or NWOBHM please. Yeah, my copy of Appetite basically sits there and needs a dust every so often. I’m quite happy to never listen to that album again. Except for Night Train, that one I could deal with. I’d put Cinderella in the glam category yes... you are right there wasn’t much choice with categories back then, which was good. By the end of the 80’s there was heavy metal, hard rock, glam, thrash and speed- that was about it for me... Hard Rock and glam kind of overlapped.... for me the more glam was the likes of poison and Crue, the more hard rock was Europe, Def Lep, Bon Jovi, but there was no fine line.
