That’s so awesome, what a great year! Yeah I was surprised how much I loved Guns, the rest I mostly knew would be around where they ended up just figured each individual one would be higher but there were so many!

More Than a Vampire is a really fun series. I loved Malice too. His mother's arc is one of my favorite in any fantasy series. Blindsight has been in my library for a while 🤔 Cant wait for Devils 😈 I never did get to finish my large print Piranesi 😳 Eek what a great year 🎉

In all the years you've known me, have I *ever* spoken positively about a re-read? Or even admitted I re-read something? 2024 has been a weird-ass year. PIRANESI (a re-read) made my top 5 reads of the year. Don't send the extraction team...I for real re-read it and loved it more the second time. And I've reviewed four hundred books this year. Also on my list: Supremacy: AI, ChatGPT, and the Race that Will Change the World by Parmy Olson The Devil at His Elbow: Alex Murdaugh and the Fall of a Southern Dynasty by Valerie Bauerlein The Mars House by Natasha Pulley and, drum roll please, my 2024 6*-of-five joybringing read that everyone on Earth needs to read: Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon

Immediately runs to goodreads! We tend to be on the same page! Piranesi was just brilliant I need to reread it now!!!

I've read several crime novels by John Connelly, & a short story collection, all of which were good - he has great gifts of description & visualization, & can really raise the hackles - he can really write, . But I haven't read any of his fantasy books yet. Peter Watts is very high on my TBR list. Two books of his ( Blindsight, & Starfish. ), sound like my type of SF ( mysterious, creepy, with a touch of awe. I sort of agree with your take on Stephen King's It. The majority of the book was really well done, but the overly sentimental addition at the end of the book was a bit too much, even for me - who doesn't mind a long book.. I don't mind "message" in a novel, but not if I'm beaten over the head with it... Thanks for your list.👍

the only book on this list that I also read this year was "Blindsight" and yes, my mind melted too with Peter Watts' exploration of consciousness and sentience

Wow what a list 😮! My maths is bad but there might be more than 10 books here 😆. I’m sure everyone is telling you this but stick with Gwynne, Valour is ok but Ruin and Wrath are 👌.
