Interesting video, how did you attach the camera with the tripod inverted but the camera (appearing to be attached to the hot shoe) is the right way up?
@AndyHornbyPhotos2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The camera is actually on the tripod arm the right way up! But the entire arm comes out and goes in upside down! That way it can go low to the ground.
@davewrench9652 жыл бұрын
@@AndyHornbyPhotos thanks, it looks like the K&F tripod I have so I'll see if I can do the same 👍
@davewrench9652 жыл бұрын
@@AndyHornbyPhotos so is the camera actually upside down? Just thinking about it as it'd attach to the bottom of the camera & if you flip the bar, then it'd also flip the camera?

Thanks great tips Andy! For future video's try a tripod the shakey hand held parts of the video is hard to watch. Sorry don't want to seem negative.

Hi Frank, thanks for watching. I always take constructive criticism mate. In these vlogs, it can be difficult to stop and set up a tripod all the time. But I am aware of the stability issues with my vlogging setup. Cheers 😀

Bought an 80mm glass ball off Amazon for about 2,000 yen ... I have extension tubes and 50mm prime lens, so I'm going to experiment with different f-stops and distances between the camera and the glass ball. I have a wide angle (10-24mm) that I'll also play around with. I don't really understand compression yet (or at least, kind of understand how backgrounds look closer with longer lenses, but like most things in photography, I learn about it off KZbin videos ... and then go out and put things into practice ... and then I get a feel for it). So, cheers for your tips on glass ball photography - I'll subscribe and look forward to seeing a video on compression sometime.

Thanks for watching and subscribing. I'll put compression on my list of videos to do.

Is there any other free editing program you can use for the glass ball instead of PhotoShop?
@AndyHornbyPhotos3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Not sure if there is anything free. But I know Affinity is relatively cheap and a one off payment.

What size ball would you recommend?? Looking to buy one or two, but have options from 6cm to 18cm. I'm thinking about maybe getting an 8 and a 10cm. Any suggestions??
@AndyHornbyPhotos4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I use a 10cm one and that seems to be anough for me. Hope that helps.
