Honestly, my only disagreement is that Legacy deluxe G1 Prime wasn't HIGHER on the list as he's easily been my favourite deluxe of 2024. Great list overall though!

86 Prime has a recency bias to it. They will eventually make another Optimus that’s better, maybe in 5-7 years. And people will then say how much better he is compared to 86. Just look at how people treat Earthrise now and compare it to when he came out

Really cool to see Sunstreaker on the list! Even I enjoy it as well! Sure, it's got some junk in the robot mode, but it's far from the worst and you're still able to put it some good poses. When paired with the smooth transformation and a sleek looking vehicle mode, it's enough for me. I also do enjoy how chunky he is, really feels like something we got during the ROTF toyline.

I got Cybertron Starscream on the 1st so he barely missed my list but he's almost guaranteed to be on my 2025 list. #1 for me is absolutely 86 Optimus Prime. It's everything I've wanted in a generations Optimus Prime. It's permanently staying on my desk because i haven't been able to stop messing around with it since I got it.

J4, you do realize that transformers is not something that transformers are not something that transforms. It is something you can transform and have fun for hours. And model kits allow you to do just that. So don’t feel bad about having model kits on the list!

This is just my opinion when it comes to personal favorite lists for creators like yourself who cares what other people think of "YOUR" list it is meant to represent what you enjoyed that you got throughout the year and that was what happened. loved the video JC

The only thing that didn't make sense to me about your list was that you said Concept Megatron wasn't a good transformer and immediately busted out a non transforming figure on your list. Otherwise I had a great time and enjoyed!

aye jc. loved the vid. it was a little much when you kept mentioning not puting 86 prime on the list. i respect the choice. i just thought mentioning it once and moving on would've felt a little better. awesome that you're one of the few people that i've seen that's putting stuff like chase and deluxe G1 toy optimus on your list though. i still loved the video. just wanted to give my one criticism

Just to be clear, I was looking for him upon reveal and when I did get him two months ago, he was a disappointment! Maybe I have QC issue with my cos he is loose! Not floppy loose but noticeable when compared to Legacy Silverbolt whose has good tolerance!

Earthrise Prime also felt disappointing for the price 4 years ago. At least SS86 gives you a complete package. Earthrise gave you a pretty crappy trailer that was undersized, and a stumpy gun, and locked roller, his axe, and an accurate gun behind the Gens Selects Centurion Drone accessory pack.

​​​@@jeebus2313Yeah, Earthrise's tire butt cheeks ruined the figure for me. 86 has a much better silhouette front to back because of it having a backpack instead. I'd rather have a backpack that makes sense, then the only kibble be extremely ugly tire cheeks.

Yeah and that's all it is, an action figure. It succeeds in everything it was designed for. Megatron was designed to transform and his alt modes fail tremendously.

im so glad someone else pointed out how fat 86 optimus prime looks. Youre 100% right the yolopark prime is a perfect rendition of how he looks in the show. they just needed to make the windows a bit smaller and that would make him the bit leaner he needs to be.

86 prime isn't for everyone, so him not being on YOUR list isn't a big deal. Like what you like! For example, for me, beast,bug, and dino transformers are garbage! Hate em! But that's me. I like what I like! Also, anything G1, to me, ISN'T the be all/end all. G1 is NOT God's gift to Transformers. Hell, I dare say G1 is garbage. There are WAY better generations beyond G1.

You expect a $100 official Prime to be flawless? Did you miss the MP-44 fiasco? I came to the opposite conclusion, I thought he was pretty good for the price.

I didn't expect it to be flawless, but my issues are ones that are simply down to incompetent design. Shoulda had more forward hip movement (he can't even kneel), the head hardly moves, the torso is chunky and stiff (no ab crunch), and the elbows only go 90. All issues that are not present on the Lunar Cruiser Prime, a figure that is a very similar price.

​@Jcc2224 I love the figure, and can overlook a lot of that... but the 90° elbows are a really bitter pill to swallow at this price point when most other cheaper Prime's have much more range. I cannot understand how this was considered acceptable.

I think comparing a third party non transforming Optimus proportions to one that has to work in a successful transformation at retail price is somewhat disingenuous. Not that i disagree that 86 couldn't be a bit slimmed down, but for a non masterpiece Optimus to be this cartoon accurate, and he comes with a trailer, I'm super happy with him. Only problem i have is the price, but thats for transformers overall nowadays

A couple things, Yolopark is second party since its licensed. Also its proportions are based on MP44, an official figure. Now granted MP44's transformation is monsterous to accomplish the look, but I know Hasbro could have done better with 86. I think from the thighs down 86 is incredible, but it just has too many issues for its pricepoint above that.
