My Top 11 Tips for beating the Challenge Maps in Jurassic World Evolution 2

I decided to make a list of all the tips I could think of off the top of my head for completing challenge mode in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Of course all these things are subjective, do whatever you want. Heck make some suggestions of your own if you want in the comments down below. I'm not perfect after all, I'd appreciate the help

One extra tip I would give is with the ranger teams, take lots of photos of the dinosaurs, if you have time. That earns you a really good amount of money or to get your money back instantly if you just spent a hefty amount on anything like expeditions or reasearch or even just get your money back on anything you built, it adds up very quickly. I feel like it’s a very underutilized option when you’re in the early game trying to keep up the cash flow.

This. Photos are probably the most-forgotten way to make money. Whenever I see a response team patrolling an enclosure; I will take control and take a quick picture so I get different dinosaurs and maximize money for photos.

So this is the To Long Didn't Read (TLDR) 1: Fire all scientists you start out with that dont have the Autistic Salary Trait (bonus: Get scientists with salary less that 11,000 and have each scientist round out to combined stats of 4-5 2: Dont use amenities until your park is Established as a Profitable Endeavor. 3: Dont build Restrooms or Shelters until a Contract Asks so. 4: Ignore Small Carnivores, Think about Pterosaurs as well. Do you have the Humble Trait, What pterosaurs have the highest rating, and what are their needs together? Factor these in if you want to add any of those flying menaces. Forgot to say this is a bonus tip as well. 5: Power down buildings you aren't using at the early game (Mainly Hard or Jurassic Difficulty Exclusive Rule) 6: Humble, Long Lived, and Tolerant (bonus) Will be the best as well as Maybe Resilient if you have a herd of dinosaurs. 7: (Bonus Tip!0) Quarantine Dinosaurs if they get a disease you haven't researched or need time to. Keep them enclosed if it means killing one dinosaur to spare the rest. 8: Dont go to the same Dig Site more than once unless you have to. 9: Dig Yield, Cost Upgrades, Rest Recovery Speed, and Extraction Capacity upgrades off the bat. 10: Only use the Storm Defense Upgrades on Backup Generators, dont use them on Power Stations. 11: Get Wider Paths and Improved Power Utility's at the start. Backup generators should also be placed around buildings With Power incase the Power Stations fail during a disaster. 12: *GET TYLOSAURUS, NOT TREX OR SPINO!!!* Also maybe Mosaurus near the end game as the last thing to get you to 5 Stars. Make sure its separated to!

The most important tip here is the scientists. Up until then my mind set was hire and upgrade as many scientists as you can to research stuff and dig up fossils fast. Well, you can see how this strategy absolutely destroyed me… I couldn’t make profit at all at the start of the game and always went bankrupt. I’ve tried three times the challenge Germany and failed at the start and then I realized I must be doing something wrong… that was when I watched your video… Man those greedy scientists…

You are definitely right about the Tylosaurus, I went from 4 stars to 5 instantly after releasing one on the UK challenge mode which helped me to complete so much faster. Also the game does let you know when the guests are feeling overcrowded just as it alerts to low amenity or shelter coverage, and you can determine from the number of guests on each amenity

Your streams were a massive help for me clearing the Hard Mode Challenge runs. I never would have thought to fire the existing scientists at the start for the SW USA map, as I had no clue you even could have no scientists at all...

The tylosaurus is real, pterosaurs are good too because you can plop 10+ animals in a decently sized aviary

Fair enough, but the aviaries are huge and they’re not super valuable. In terms of space vs population cos they’re higher than small carnivores, but a large carnivore is still a better investment imo

thank you for making this video. I haven't played hard mode yet, but I've been playing through both easy and medium modes to get a feel for each map and what works best and I managed to complete Germany on medium difficulty within about 2 hours and 25 minutes thanks to this video. only tips I ignored was the one about getting humble and long lived, because they didn't allow them on Germany, meaning I had to expand my Tylosaurus enclosure by two tanks. another one I ignored was the one about amenities, but I only ignored it when I was getting about 450-500K a minute income, with a profit of about 300K a minute. and the last one I slightly ignored slightly didn't was the one about firing the scientists. I already had a medium Germany ready to go, which was why I watched this video, so when I hopped back onto that map I fired all my scientists after they completed their tasks and hired a bunch of cheaper ones with better perks like faster research speed so I could get dig yield and other building upgrades faster. Overall, I definitely recommend this video. I'll probably end up rewatching for when I do all the hard modes and maybe Jurassic. also I thought that Tylosaurus's star rating might've changed, since I'm watching this in May and this was posted in November, but no, it's still 1661 star rating with a dig site that only cost 640K. reject Mosasaurus. Tylosaurus supremacy!

Tbh, using small carnivores at all is a bad strategy. Even the best small carnivores can’t beat the score of the worst of the larger carnivores

I don't know how well it will work in challenge mode but the whole thing about needing a dedicated alpha for species that fight for dominance is something to consider unless humble solves that. Only done Chaos Theory so far but I focused on making social/humble animals with a alpha that had more defense so it could hold that title. Doing so along with it's higher dominance stopped all fighting.

I have never tried challenge mode in JWE1 (something I still have to finish for achievs but I was too affraid of) but decided to jump right into jurassic dificulty this time around in JWE2. I have 2 questions though. 1 Would you agree to start off with jurassic mode or should I try lower difficulties first (someone mentioned that they prefer jurassic right away because they don't get habits that make you lose money). 2 Do you recommend making money early on by taking pictures and 3 the most important one....do you synthesise dinos at 50% genome or should I get it all the way to 100%. In JWE1 it mattered cause the lower the genome percentage the bigger chance of incubation failing. It doesn't seem to work like that in JWE2 (frankly I don't know if genome percentage afffects anything anymore)

You should probably start with one round on hard just to get a feeling for the game. Challenge mode is a whole different beast to the rest of the game and might take you by surprise. Hard mode will test you and refine your skills as it has mine. Absolutely use photos to your advantage when you’re making little to no money and you should only start focusing on 100% cloning when you’ve passed at least $50,000 profit I’d say. The genome percentage seems to really only affect the gene editing slots this time around which is something you won’t be doing until you’re a good amount into your challenge run

Extra tip: use always Carcharodontosaurus, it doesn't so much space and forest like other large carnivore, and it has a very high rating but remember it needs another one, or it's comfort will not be perfect.

I tend to build a resort first. A couple of innovation centers, a cinema, the 3 amenities, storm shelter and toilet and a hotel as fast as possible. With that you should be making money. Eventually you can build a resort with all attraction variations and 6 or so centers with large amenities. By then you should have a healthy profit. Research all you can and excavate all you can before you worry about putting dinos in. I usually save about 100 million before I start my park proper. You can build a hatchery and breed a Dino then choose airlift but don't actually drop the Dino to unlock the Research nodes you need early on. It's a long strategy, but it works

You should do a run on normal first imo, but these tips are very outdated at this point. I would recommend never leaving any of your guest needs at 0 instead of waiting for a contract, and just absolutely rushing aquatic stuff. Once you get Tylosaurus the game is basically over ignoring the time spent waiting for money to make them

See the guide I'd read before said research power stations straight away because the amount of money it costs to refill a backup generator is absolutely not worth it. I'm not sure how much they cost but I guess it might be more efficient to delete and make a new one each time rather than refuelling

As long as you shut off buildings you're not using, you should be able to run all your early game buildings until you're making enough profit to run a power station. I do it all the time

It's just a personal challenge telling you about how long it should take you to beat it if you're playing the game correctly. It's not required or anything

Absolutely not, but only use backup generators until you’re actually making profit. Power consumes profits per minute so you don’t want it eating away at your bottom line until you’re making money to afford it. Try to get everything in one area so you only need one backup generator

For jurassic I would also suggest: dont bother with small herbivores and be careful with animal crowding. Disease will *constantly* spread and waste a lot of time

Disease can be annoying, but it’s not world ending. Late game you need you hit the species limit and some small herbivores are the easy way to get it done. Also Ornithomimids are great to fill up cages and get Dino visibility up

As I wrote on screen in the video you should do vital research first and then fire them. Get viable DNA, get viewing galleries, etc and then fire them all... except for altruistic salaries. Early game you should only use people with altruistic salaries to save money

In regards to Tylosaurus. You have to factor in you have to pay out the ass to get lagoons up and running. Which is why the expedition for it is pretty cheap. But yes, the Tylosaurus is one of the better marine dinos to get. Since it requires no research.

Lagoon costs aren’t enough to make Tylosaurus bad. The fact that it can cohabitate also helps in that regard

@@Dinobro007 Never said it was bad, just that it wasn't as cheap as you made it sound. Lagoon research is roughly 1.5mil. Which in the end makes it even out with the T-rex's expedition costs. Tylosaurus is a great dino, again I agreed with you. Just saying lagoon costs should factor into the comparisons and not just expedition costs.

No aquatics, use Ceratopsids, Pachycephalosaurs, and Small Carnivores. Unless you want to play actually wrong that’s about your best shot. Just use some of the worst creatures and never use the genetics tab to make them better

And level 2 fence but they never wanna break out and eat people :'( Think 100% dino comfort and 5 park start are too easy to get. only once i got to flying and aquatic in chaos or challenge before it was over, so still got that for free building i guess. Wish it had a"they are billions" mode, where as a end game dinos start breaking out and you can only play ranger station to try and save people or you had to escape your own park in first person :P

Actually quite a lot yes, but I'm waiting for the game to finish development before I make another video. The quick summary of how to play is pick only large/medium carnivores and marine reptiles. All other creatures are merely used to unlock those other 2 types of creatures and should be swiftly forgotten. Never let you guest needs sit at 0 as it destroys your profits. Use those two tips, get some practice in, and abuse the humble gene then you'll be golden... at least you should be

Great guide just a small thing I made a stat guide and you are correct tylos are on of the best Tylos rank 3rd on efficiency appeal/(synth+incub) after mosas and attenboro But once you take into account research and egg clutch sizes as long as you are making tylo and atten it is probably the most efficient

I did my own calculations that did include research and excavation, the Tylo won. You can actually see the results as I posted a video about it and left a link to my spreadsheet that also includes the highest logistic, genetic, and welfare requirements for each. Social minimums are also included. It’s everything you could ever need to know before you even research the creature

I don’t use the towers at all honestly, but monorails give a visibility bonus when they pass over cages. Have both viewing vents and monorails to maximize your visibility percentage

Once you understand everything about the challenge mode you can speed run each map really easily. When you first start it’s a drag, but I’ve beaten all the Jurassic Difficulty challenge and got better times on almost all of them over my hard difficulty playthroughs. You just have to have the time and patience which not everyone has

Tylo is still more cost effective. The only area Kronosaurus beats Tylo is in the space it needs to be happy. Tbh it’ll be easiest to win if you have both. Since Tylo is cheaper to get its best to start with him then use the money you got from Tylo to get a Krono

There are a couple tips that won’t work in Jurassic mode, you’re right. Most of them though… they’re fine. The biggest hole is the one where I said I waited for missions to build restrooms and stuff. That is absolutely not the right way to play but I only learned that after I made this video

@@Dinobro007 most of your tips made in this video outline general gaming tips not exclusively challenge mode. Here are my major tips that will not work: 1. Scientists. You need only fire one of them you need to keep 1 X logistics and 1x welfare. 2.Backup generators. Biggest waste of funds especially early game, only ever build 1 to start then research power ASAP. 3.Guest buildings/attractions. Need to be built before you even release a Dino. As far as the other tips imo they are just general game tips not necessarily exclusively challenge mode. Mind you I'm completely aware you made this video without playing the top difficulty of challenge mode but I'm just correcting a few of your mistakes made. No disrespect intended keep up the hard work.

I can appreciate you trying to help, but I have already beat all Jurassic difficulty challenges in like half par time or less. I eventually learned what I was doing wrong. I still disagree a little on a few of your points, (ie I will never build guest services before dinosaurs and firing all scientists is a top tier idea on South West and England) but I guess that’s a matter of play style. I’ve been meaning to do an updated list, but haven’t had the time between other projects I’m work on

It’s a cash flow thing. A quick way to boost early cash flow to get things going. As soon as you need to clone your first Dino you’ll need to get one back, but with all that extra money you made it’s no problem. I mean you could just check out my streams too. I streamed both my England and South West Jurassic play through a right here on the channel. Heck I might even be remembering how I did it wrong
