Hey man appreciate putting the work in to get us these statistics. Earned yourself a subscriber for sure. I was curious however I am gonna go take a look at some of your other videos. But if you could maybe do a simplistic video on how from A to Z do the challenge modes. I think a lot of people would find this helpful. I watched your tips video previously and it helped a lot. I still get hung up trying to progress as efficiently as possible to the marine animals on hard mode. Gonna try to combine this video with that and get some of this better dinos in my park.

I appreciate this list you made (yet to get around to challenge mode and I'm waiting for JP era in it to be added). Personally I will be making some of the "trash" species just to unlock them at least once. :D Shame Iguanadon isn't great for the cost because it looks great same for Geosternbergia....why are the better looking species imo worse cost to appeal wise than the worst looking species (looking at you JW version of Pteranodon I need that JP3 skin). I wonder how the DLC species will fair. Also when it comes to legacy skins can you use them in challenge mode? Because I was told that they're for sandbox only which will suck if true because I want JP3 Pteranodons, Dominion Giga's, legacy T-rex etc.

Do you multiply these numbers based on how many of the species you need? So for argument sake if you have to have 4 struthiomimus to make sure they're not lonely that costs $24,000 and you only need 2 dracorex at $18,000 wouldn't that make the dracorex the best? Great video idea and great content 👏
@Dinobro007

I didn’t, for the sake of fairness I simply did it based on one single creature. Using the min social limit would’ve take me so much longer too and I just did t have the time. Perhaps when I have more time I can throw that into the equation Plus all it would do is reaffirm most of these top placing contenders since they almost all have a social requirement of 1. I will, however, update the google doc with minimum social requirements as that is also useful info to know

@MainerdLoyd
@MainerdLoyd 2 жыл бұрын
@@Dinobro007 Where needs are important is in creating super exhibits. The same foods and compatibility really help boost appeal per square foot of a exhibit. While compies look like trash on paper they are very strong since they can go in medium and large carnivore exhibits to boost appeal. They also work in many herbivore exhibits also. This is why they are so expensive they can boost nearly every exhibits appeal..

Do these scores for the marine animals take into account how much it costs to get lagoons up and running? Because I think that is the biggest setback for those animals. Similar for the pterosaurs.

Okay so she's the one doing all the spreadsheet work. Then we have two additional opinion parts to the rankings. It won't change much, but it's like, "Okay if you're playing sandbox, this is also what you should do." We're finalizing the rankings and working on the video now, and we think you'll really like it. Okay. So there are a LOT of other factors that impact this. For instance: Not all the foliage is created equal. Some foliage will cost you easily over a half-million dollars to keep ONE Dino happy. And some dinos can inhabit and cohabitate better than others. For instance, Brachiosaurus requires HUGE paddocks with lots of Tall Nuts (I think that's the right foliage) and that is NOT cheap. So does it become better to have 5 Apata vs 5 Brachi? It very well could. Of course once you have unlocked a Dino it gets far easier to spam it and add more and more thus giving you a more and more efficient return on investment. But doing the math only for the first dino created? OF COURSE that's going to be heavily skewed when you have 1million+ Dig Sites and 8million+ Research Costs. So while some of this data is valuable, I'd love to see it go much more in depth and accounting for the following: Optimum Number of the Species. (How many can you comfortably fit in the paddock before the size of the paddock becomes far too awkward.) Cohabitation (Which species pair together quite nicely - perhaps even eating some of the same foliage.) Foliage Cost. Return on Investment (Accounts for the species' lifespan and how cost effective it is to make more once you've fully unlocked them.) How often do they fight (IF they fight). Do they break out during or immediately after storms? (That huge dip in Safety Rating can easily cost you a million or more.)
@Dinobro007
@Dinobro007 2 жыл бұрын
My dude, all of these things vary wildly. Your cage size dictates how many you can fit of a the same species, no amount of foliage cost will make a really good creature suddenly trash, and so on an so forth. It’s all based on so many different factors that trying to account for even half of them would leave you on a wild goose chase. You don’t know how big the cage is for said creature, you don’t know what traits it’ll have, you don’t know anything about the dozens of possible ways a creature can be used in the game. Using your logic we’d come to no conclusion at all without such heavy restrictions we’d basically just be back to my simple formula. At the end of the day, this simple chart is the most basic and effective way of judging a creature’s worth. Make your decision, pick what you want, it’s up to you
@chesh05
@chesh05 2 жыл бұрын
@@Dinobro007 I'm aware at how difficult it would be to measure all of these things, but I'm also pointing out at how flawed your logic is as well. You say researching an Ankylo is far from worth because of the upfront cost - and while I get that - the point of it is it doesn't take much foliage, it doesn't take a large paddock, and it plays relatively nice with other dinos. But you're completely ignoring all of that for the sake of measuring it in one of the only ways you know how to. That data is far from irrelevant but it's also nowhere near as relevant as you'd like it to be. Now I could use a better example than an Anky but since that one is a pretty bad outlier I figured I'd use it. So yeah, I get why you wouldn't want to make a video that tests all of these things (because it would be difficult and EXTREMELY time consuming), but you're looking at these dinos in a vacuum with none of the things they need and none of the things that makes them better or worse - such as how well they play nice with others. Bottom Line: It's too big of a deal to gloss over like you did.
@chesh05
@chesh05 2 жыл бұрын
@bimb I never said it wasn't useful, and I stated outright that it would take ages to take everything else into account, but once you get a creature unlocked AND you have a functioning paddock for it, you get a sort of rebate built into the cost and his method doesn't account for that at all which skews the results heavily.
@Dinobro007
@Dinobro007 2 жыл бұрын
Any creature you get will give you a return on investment so I don’t see how that changes anything. When you’re fighting against the systems this game has I place, spending millions on an Ankylosaurus when you already have Nodosaurus will never make any sense no matter how you slice it. There is no comfortable baseline to work from beyond these stats simply because of all the available options the player has to... well do everything they do. My stats are a base line to work from. They tell you who will give you the best return in your investment as soon as you get them. That’s what the data represents and no amount of ‘but the foliage’ will change that. The small few creature in which foliage is that much of a dealbreaker is such a small statistic it really wasn’t worth the time or effort... plus the humble gene makes a lot of those issue disappear
@chesh05
@chesh05 2 жыл бұрын
@@Dinobro007 Minimum herd size, maximum herd size, space required, cohabitation, foliage, cost to synthesize and incubate, and appeal ARE. ALL. RELEVANT. And the way you did this doesn't even come close to accurately measuring all of them. You do stats for only the first dino out the gate and that will NEVER be a good way to measure these stats. Like I'm trying to be civil and point that out but you just keep ignoring it and no amount of ignoring it is going to validate the statistics you took. The LEAST you could have done was say "hey, maybe doing stats for the minimum amount of dinos in a herd would be a good way to measure a dinos value instead, let alone the other factors." But nah, you're just pushing way too hard for what you measured to be the only thing that matters and it simply isn't. Hell you could have made a whole other video testing that as well and gotten some more interested people to watch that one too, myself included. If you don't want to make another video that's fine, but pushing your own idea of "this is a good way to do this" is just fucking stupid. I could have respected you if your argument was "that video took ages to make and I don't want to make another one." Like I get that, life happens and shit like this is time consuming. But pushing your terrible logic and trying to justify it is awful. Agree to disagree man.
