Hi Andy. Some very surprising choices in your 12. But every one of them are great singers. I think I would have a lot more female singers in my list. Enjoyable video.Cheers Mike 👍

Hi Mike. I did have too few female singers. If I were doing current singers there would be way more. Someone mentioned Hope Sandoval and had I thought at the time she would definitely have been in my 12. Thanks for watching. Cheers

Hi, my top ones: Elizabeth Fraser, Jon Anderson, Dave Gahan, David Bowie, David Sylvian, Peter Murphy, Peter Gabriel, Klaus Nomi, Nick Drake, Aldous Hardley, Jonas Bjerre and Jonsi. Greetings from Brazil.

Great list. I thought about Jonsi while I was in the middle of recording that. I would have included him if I'd thought before. Thanks for watching. Cheers

@@oprofessorquevirousardinha5891 you prefer those singers because you know about music.

This is more broadly chronological rather than ranked, but here's mine: Nina Simone, Scott Walker, Judith Durham, Roger Daltrey, Steve Marriott, Laura Nyro, David Bowie, Barbara, Maggie Bell, Annie Haslam, James Dewar and Nick Cave.

I was busy and it was the top of my head, I had Scott Walker and Steve Marriot.

Nice list, Duncan. I ummed and arred over Bowie. Nick Cave is s good call. He's one of a few I thought about afterwards that I might have incuded if I'd thought about them at the time. Thanks for watching. Cheers

@@andysalbums It’s more the tone of a voice I suppose. Sounds pretentious. I’ll take Bobby Gillespie over some shit opera prick.

Good video Andy, Ian Anderson would be my number 2, my number 1 would have to be Ian Gillan who I've worshipped since about the age of 16.
@andysalbums2 ай бұрын
I do like Gillan, but just not quite up there for me. Purple were a band I liked, but weren't in my top lot. I've also had a few mentions for Paul Rogers, but Free were in a similar category to Purple for me - liked but not loved. My fav heavy rock vocalist is Robert Plant and I came so close to including him. Thanks for watching, Marc. Cheers

This would be tough to do Andy. I would also have very few female singers, at least I think so. I do love Friends of Dr Cairo Kate Bush has a beautiful voice but it is hard for me to handle for an extended period of time, say 15 minutes lol. Beth Gibbons is wonderful

I remembered Hope Sandoval afterwards. I probably would have put her on if I'd thought. Thanks for watching, Steve. Cheers

Lots of good choices but for me its Paul Rodgers , Paul Rodgers and did I mention Paul Rodgers ????. Stay Well My Friend and Be Lucky.

Haha. Have you tried Paul Rogers, Alfie? I think you might like him. He was in a band called Free, I believe. :-) Cheers, mate

I saw Rod Stewart with The Faces in Birmingham '72-73 with Ronnie Wood and Ronnie Lane etc. I think they were pretty pissed up because Ronnie Wood hit more bum notes than I can remember. Saw Elton John again in Birmingham as a trio of EJ, Dee Murray on bass and Nigel Olsson on drums. Must admit it was brilliant. Saw him again with a full band and all his stupid costumes and lost interest in him. My favourite male vocalist would be Terry Reid followed by Van Morrison and Gary Brooker and John Martyn. The best female singer I have seen live is Roberta Flack who was superb. My favourite current female singer is the Canadian Katherine Edwards.

Great times those early 70s gigs. My wife saw Queen at Barbarellas before they hit the big time. I once went on a business trip to Asheville , North Carolina and a coach tour of Asheville was laid on. I mentioned to the guide that Roberta Flack and Robert Moog came from there and she said she hadn't heard of either of them ffs!! I really need to check out Katherine Edwards. Thanks for watching again. Cheers

Hope Sandoval, Jim Reid, Mark Lanegan, Bon Scott, John Lennon, off the top of my head. Beth was well deserved.

I wish I'd thought of Hope Sandoval. I would have included her for definite. Thanks for watching, Nick. Cheers
