Fantastic list! I only own decants of Bel Ami, Knize Ten, Santos Concentree and Escada Sentiment. Plus a bottle of Red for Men and Amber PH Intense. Man we share the same love for classics and discontinued. The bottles I have for fall and winter: Van Gils (Netherland), Loewe Escencia, Santos Sport, Boss Sport (80's), Guerlain Heritage (old form), DK Black Cashmere (old form), Ungaro II, Alain Delon Iquitos, Monsieur de Rochas (old form), Davidoff Men and Davidoff Relax, Ferre for Man, Comme des Garcons Classic, Lauder for Men, Rochas Man Intense version and other discontinued classic for women... Awesome choices RG! I always wanted to smell vintage Alain Delon Iquitos again but it's impossible to find at an reasonable cost. My late uncle wore it back in the day and it always memorized me. I like your choices in fragrances it's a lot like mine. And that's why we come to Chris' channel... his the best for classics

Scent Land Chris you can send me friend request at Facebook: Reddy Lee Yohrs. We might have many mutual friends already. Ok, Van Gils is truly a very manly suitable for 70's 80's scent. The bottle is cheap but the smell, if not too complex, packs a lot of punch yet very refined much like a family member of Antaeus, Santos, Quorum and Oscar dela Renta pour Lui. But not as scary as Lapidus pour Homme which I used to own and will never own again. Darvant of basenotes is almost spot on with his great review. I'm not sure if people will still appreciate this scent but who cares as this isn't animalic like heavy oud based modern frags or monster patchouli like my Balenciaga Homme and my Oleg Cassini for Men vintage by Jovan. I love my Van Gils, it's aldehyde, barbershop, soapy, honeyed, herbal and spicy aromatic luxury that's great for 5 degrees to minus. Cheers.

Mike Miller Thanks Mike! There was a time I took the route of finding old perfume classics. I stopped buying perfumes for almost a year now. Happy with my staple but I'm also cutting down. Some of my classics are on sale and ready to go if a frag buddy would visit my town as I do not ship. I love Iquitos, so far it will still stay with me. It's very different in its scent blend and grandeur. I kept my frags inside a dark dresser down my cool basement. :)

Very wise decision RG to keep Iquitos... never sell it! Totally agree there is no other cologne that smells like it, an absolute masterpiece! BTW What town your from? How big is your collection. I'm at 200 fragrances currently and landed some really nice classics recently based on reviews from ScentLand. Chris led me to 3 fragrances that are amazing... Givenchy Insense, What About Adam by Joop, and most recently Photo by Lagerfeld. Those 3 fragrances are beyond Masterpieces!

Very nice list. M Generation was being typed back in 2014--and it was dirt cheat--but the hyped died quickly and I no longer see it anywhere so I will assume it has been discontinued. I like it, a lot, as it was a very nice light-incense fragrances...just wish I could get another bottle because the sprayer on mine sucks and leads a bit. Was #10 Escada Sentiment pour Homme ? If so, I'll have to check it out. I love Smalto fragrances (have Fullchock, Malto and Smalto for Men) but have yet to check-out Francesco Smalto pour Homme. I'll have to get to this one this Fall, for sure. Never mind...just ordered a 1-ounce bottle. Yes! Bel Ami is a great one but, to be honest, I prefer Bel Ami Vetiver. C'est la vie. I have been wanting to try Montana Parfum d'Homme for the longest time and Leder sounds like another scent that right up my fragrance wheelhouse. Cheers!

I loved Photo in the early to mid 19990's when I wasn't wearing Obsession. Is that the Unilever or Coty version of Photo? My 2nd Unilever version of Photo isn't close to the performance I got with the original I purchased when it first came out. It must have been reformulated before they sold it to Coty. I still rarely wear it, not because of the reduced performance but because i don't want to waste it. Interparfums must have decided not to produce it and as we know, they're not having much sucess selling Lagerfeld Clasic. Do you know when Coty discontinued it?

I think some of these are discontinued, so you cant get them, and if you do, they will probably be stale. Memoir d'Homme, Francesco Smalto, and Photo I think are the ones in this list.

I came here because I love Karl Lagerfeld Photo, and have been using it for ages, but as you said they are discontinued, so where can I get them for a fair price, and have you found a cologne that smells just as good and has the same smell profile as the Photo in the current market?

Honestly, I dont know. None of my sources have it. I got my last vintage 125ml in a vintage fragrance shop in Haarlem (Netherlands). Nothing compares to Photo and I havent found any scent that comes even close...

At the beginning of the 90s I used photo and the opinions of my known circle were always very distant, nobody really like it, I have never understand because i like the scent of Photo very much.
