Great choices. I have some of those and love them but there’s one knife I own that I reach for when I’m feeling maybe a little board with knives and need a reminder as to why I collect them. And that’s my German made Boker titan worker. It’s a beefy titanium liner lock with real titanium bolsters and canvas micarta scales. It’s a liner lock but those titanium liners are thicker than most frame locks and it’s action is soooo buttery, velvety smooth! Those German made Bokers with phosphor bronze washers feel like nothing else imo. That very smooth, light hydraulic feel and they will slowly lower their blades into the handle in one steady but veeeery slow and extremely satisfying motion from gravity alone. Gives me wood! As it was designed for the German market where locking one hand opening knives are forbidden, it has no thumb studs, no flipper tab, not even a nail nick to facilitate opening, but the ultra smooth action makes up for it. I can one hand it open by pinching the blade, however. And that gorgeous flat sabre grind drop point blade is my definition of perfection. It’s plain old 440C but it’s razor sharp and I don’t beat on it anyway. It’s an odd bird. A modern titanium liner lock with old school materials and design and hand made to perfection. I LOVE that knife! And I got a GREAT deal on it! $360 MSRP I believe but I got it brand new for $102! It and my other German Boker, the Oberland EDW.1, which is a masterpiece itself, will never be sold! LOVE them both! Definitely the smoothest knives I own! And the ones that give me that warm feeling inside! If you’re not familiar with the German made Bokers, check them out. Their quality although somewhat inconsistent at times is up there with the best of the best!

That Hinderer is the best knife I’ve ever seen. I’ve been searching for weeks and weeks trying to find something that closely resembles a knife like a hinderer in the $200-$250 range and I just can’t. The large jimping, frame lock, ergos and aesthetic, Hinderers are definitely my favorite knives as well. Don’t know if I’ll ever own one, but I sure do appreciate them. I may just have to settle for for the excellent 0562. First world problems 😂 Sweet video man!

Ok that rat has kept me from buying folders and it was my 1st keeper going on 5yrs ago. I wasn’t buying throw aways expecting gold it was out of being practical. I worked in construction and chemical soaked environmental conditions. The rat 2 was bought after all that and shines as a user for all my daily needs. I bought a pm2 around same time and obviously for harder use needs. Next will be something in the +500 range or I’d be buying for collection reasons. I have over 30 fixed blades and they all have extensive use and I’m not looking to start a folder frenzy. Thx for your reviews and there’s a ton of great content I strongly agree with.

Pretty good list. I sold off or traded my PM2's due to seeing many broken tips posted in fb groups. Always thought the blades were on the thin side for true everyday use. The Para 3 is a great knife for the ladies but too small for men that have large hands. The Doug Ritter Hogue is by far a huge improvement over the grip, plus i think benchmade is over rated anyways.

My favorite EDC knife is my Protech TR3 manual. Protech is known for there autos but made a run of these years back. The knife is super high quality with a clean no nonsense look. I carry it more than any of my other knives and it's still like new shape. This is one well made knife in every detail. It has the best thumb screw design that I've ever used. I think that anybody who appreciates knives would never let this one go if they got their hands on one.

@meangene40385 жыл бұрын
@@bobb.9917 Nope.It is honestly smoother opening and closing than any other knife regardless of price. I don't have to flick my wrist in the slightest. I like closing a compression lock and/or Axis lock the best...the controls are right where you need them. My Bench-made 940 (the most I ever paid for a knife and ever will) is the same way. My go-to-knife is the one I carry every day for the last 4 years...large Griptilian....Almost as smooth, but I do have to flick my wrist just a bit.Closing is perfect. Of course, I can also use both these locks as a Gravity knife.
@tristandauod4 жыл бұрын
17:53 if you replace the CRK flouronated grease with a thinner lube like KPL or nano oil, it definitely improves the flickability and fidget factor! I finally tried KPL in my zaan and it's made deployment way faster/easier. Not as smooth feeling as the grease, but if you're flicking it out, you can't tell. If you slow roll it open, the grease is a bit noticeably smoother.

Bonjour So which one is the best ?
@timbo43745 жыл бұрын
Good choices. My favorite Manix is a tough call..I have the smooth G10 Cruwear version, and I love it, but the best looking one imo, is the grey G10 black blade and hardware version in 52100 steel, which I also own. When I 1st got into the knife hobby, I thought Spydercos were ugly, and I just didn't understand what all the hoopla was about. Then I got a PM2 in my hand, and it's all been downhill ever since. I now currently own 10 of them, lol. I like my Shaman, but for some reason, I seldom carry it. No idea why, other than I have so damn many knives, I just never get to some of them. It really is a great knife. Some of my favorite users are budget knives. The Civivi Backlash is in my pocket a ton..that blade design just cuts like a demon. The steel isn't anything to brag about, but it really isn't bad either. It takes a great edge, and strops back easily. I'd love to see WE do a TI version, in S35. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. The blade design is just fantastic, and the only thing that holds it back from being an all time greatest knives contender is the materials. An exotic steel would be cool, but I'd rather just see S35 and keep the price reasonable so most people could afford it.

What do you think of the Inkosi vs the newer Sebenza 31?(thinking of shape, comfort and so on). The i lays on the Inkosi is a bit different from the 31. I'm curious how that would feel as well. Also, I like smaller knives, but I'm in doubt about what to choose when it comes to these two, large or small? I also like the inlays, but never tried one. Only without, and for me, it feels perfect. The finish on the handles are just so smooth, you just want to touch and hold it. It also fits great in hand without. How is the feeling compared with the inlays, and the bigger, one piece inlay on the show side of the 31? I see the screws are different, ypu don't have that polished side, and I think it may be a disadvantage from the way you thigthemimg the screws. One you just screw until it stops, now you must adjust from both sides, any opinion on these matters? And if you haven't tried the 31, will you get it, maybe borrow one for a review, hopefully one with the inlays since I guess it will feel the same as the others without anyway. I know I ask you for a lot, but this is important for me since Im going to buy me one of these. I also like an "All Black Coated Sebenza with Black Tanto Blade". I don't know which of them it is, it it looks awasome. I think you can get them in both sizes. Don't know if it's a special edition for a knife store, but I can't fid it again. As a working knife, the Tanto blade is good for scraping, cutting wires and much more. So if I don't go for a Drop Point, it would for sure be a Tanto. Maybe you know where to find it and also would like to hear your thoughts on this black beauty. Best regards Thomas Aasen, Norway

Picked up a sprint run Shaman in cf and s90v. Really nice. But my user is the original g10, s30v.

That CF version is awesome and I probably would do that and not need Ti scales, but I couldn’t find it easily! I really want some color choices on such a pretty leaf shaped blade. I think it looks really nice, but very “user friendly” or “hard use” and I like the idea of being able to take it out to nicer places, and still have a little bit of “beefy” in my pocket!! The cf is a hot one! And that g10 would be a great user because spyderco has good g10. Nice win on the CF find dude. I would love that handle wrapped up in a little linen micarta. And you know what, they could do a marbled CF, or shredded and add copper and brass shreds like the Sidus does for $70 with the knife and scales (real steel makes it I think). This knife screams for something a touch more elegant, while not compromising the hard use capability - cf, shredded or marbled would make a great scale. I could see it in coyote tan or white and I’d have to clean it daily lol and would still put up with it!

@@jonduncansakurawallknifegarden I agree. It's such a great knife for a canvas for so many options to spice it up. I'm holding on to four different spyderco sprint runs right now. The cf Shaman, two manix 2's in cruwear with smooth g10 and cf, and a pm2 with red g10 and m390. I known I could sell them and make a nice profit but damn, I get attached to these things! I'll never use my sprint runs so they just sit in a case, I think of them as a savings account. But for me to part with them, I'd need to really get a good price.

I’m a little confused at your number two pick, you said you wish it had different scales, different blade profile and the option for different washers/bearings...that to me sounds like you don’t like anything about the knife except for the fact that it’s a ZT designed by Hinderer. I’m not trying to be a hater, just wanting clarification as to why it’s so high on the list when there’s so many things you’d change about it as compared to other options that were lower on the list and you mentioned far fewer things that you didn’t like about them.

Oh god...I just googled Hinderer XM18 3V. (I literally had no idea she came in 3V) And I found the Sparrow. Why do I have to know that this exists? I would have preferred blissful ignorance.

You're VERY late to the game "homeboy". If you knew what I did for my Patrons, you wouldn't have left this comment.
