Being furloughed meant that I stopped learning/practicing harp every day and I allowed myself the luxury of returning to writing and recording music. I joined the audiobus forum and scoured KZbin for any info on how to make music on my iPad. Gavin’s videos were the best and I have bought several apps because of the in-depth explanations. I believe that developers will see Gavin as the guy to go to if they want people to understand and buy their apps and I really hope the channel grows and grows, as it already is doing. He has even taken the time to offer feedback on my recordings, which has helped me consider my approach to writing and made me consider new methods for which I am grateful. It has been a real pleasure to be able to contribute some music towards some of the videos and I hope to be able to provide more in 2021. Long live Gavinski’s Tutorials and here’s to next year’s vids. If I was to win I would love the geoshred swam iap’s as I bought geoshred just for the cello but the flute, clarinet and oboe would go ace with the harp. I’d love jazz drummer as I have soft drummer and I am very much emotionally involved with it. It is incredible. Thank you for the generous offer. I cant help but try my luck this time. This a very tempting list of apps I’ve been looking for quite some time, especially the looperator IAP’s and jazz drummer. There is a list of apps I purchased watching your tutorials, like geoshred swam instruments, mixbox from IK multimedia, velvet machine etc.. and I’m grateful for having the opportunity to learn so many cool stuff by watching your channel which I consider to be one of the most educational music channels. First thing that caught my attention was the name of the channel, when I remembered the character named Gavin from Archibald Cronin’s novel “ The Green Years” :) So thank you Gavin for keeping this community green. For me the highlight of this video is hearing your app selection criteria and reflections. It made me realise the reasons I am attracted to iOS music making when I already have a desktop setup are emotional bonding and sense of community. It’s really personal. Desktop apps demand a loyalty that isn’t always repaid; professional quality can equate to joyless; company fora are too often negative. I’m not suggesting that iOS music making is without frustrations but subjectively for me it’s ticking more boxes than it’s not. Oh, nearly forgot, I could provide a good home for GeoShred and GeoSwam IAPs, Addstation or Gauss if chosen. Thanks again for sharing your top 20.

This channel has been a shining light.. every new app announcement is not complete without a thorough Gavinski tutorial.. you’ve helped us get a better grasp of these amazing new tools in our toolkit.. use them to their full potential.. expose hidden goodies.. your curiosity + determination to figure things out are beautiful traits.. some of us (not mentioning any names 😁) love the mysteries.. not knowing and accidentally bumping something and suddenly.. I don't often comment on YT vids but you are one of the most underrated youtubers AFAIK. You're content is so feature-rich and I've learned about a ton of new and old iOS apps for music production. Shoutout to your series on the Rozeta suite of midi generators. I would have never been able to use them without your videos! I have debated starting my own KZbin channel (not about music) and I've seen how much effort ppl put into the entire process, so thank you for what you are doing here. Quite a few of my apps are from watching your channel, especially still being somewhat new to iOS it has been a big help. Great video fast reviewing that many awesome apps. I’ve started using iOS music apps back in 2010 with my old iPad 2; some of them had been used intensively in a lot of my productions and recordings but there is always room for new and interesting tools like you use to review. This video introduced me in a breeze TO a lot of cool new tools to keep me being creative in so many ways, so thank you a lot for your work. I would love to get Mixbox, Pipa and FRMS.

Thanks for everything you do, I’ve watch a few of your videos multiple times, that’s just how useful they are. I’m only able to use one of my hands, so your introduction to generative music making has been a game changer. And it’s not just the generative apps, but the FX that have taken my enjoyment of making music to the next level. My 3 choices for the competition are Saturn 2, Velvet Machine & Stratosphere Cloud Reverb.

I wanna add that this is a really useful video - it basically captures really good apps (basically, top 20 material ones), totally worth watching for people who dont own non/most of these. My wish-list apps are Geo-Shred, Jazz Drummer and Velvet Machine
