There are so many amazing wooden coasters that are really low in this top 20 because of roughness. The top 2 are wooden monsters that are treated like babies by their respective parks. Just goes to show how maintenance can really affect wooden coasters

If you’re going to ride Boulder Dash, I recommend going on when it’s dark outside, the woods make is even darker and you get very little light from the few lights in the park and the moonlight as the tracks are not lit up. It’s definitely an amazing experience

Ghostrider is easily my favorite of all coasters. I was super scared back when they shut it down for the retracking, hoped they werent tear it apart and make it one of those hybrids every park is going these days. The retrack just made it smoother like it was when it first opened; now if only they could work on the LONG ASS dispatch for it. Ghostrider doesn't need barrel rolls to scare the shit out of you, just plunk your butt down in the back car and hold on for dear life!

As the park I went to for vacations between 3 and 11 was Knott's Berry Farm( I'm probably going to mm this year, where I will be celebrating my birthweek for turning 12 years old) ive ridden the retracked version of ghostrider and loved it, I don't think I have ridden the back cars tho. EDIT, unfortunately on my most recent trip to Knott's Berry Farm, I kept making the lap bars so tight on me I don't get any airtime on it

El Toro is a little rough, but Six Flags Great Adventure makes sure to retrack the ride and proactively maintain the ride to ensure that it's running as good as it did in 2006. Usually when parks need prefabricated wood track, they need to call Intamin to replace that section, but the park does it in-house with the same materials and building techniques that Intamin used. So I'm sure they'll maintain some sections over this offseason as well.

Maybe whenever I'm going to plan a trip to Phantasialand, I'm also going to throw in Europa Park so I can also ride Wodan and actually get a credit on an true, traditionally built woodie, as a prefab isn't really the same thing (that doesn't mean that prefabs are bad or anything).

I had lived in Florida all my life and been to Cedar Point many times so when we went to Six Flags in New Jersey on vacation I wasn't expecting anything to blow me away except for maybe kingda ka which was closed the day we went. My brother likes wooden roller coasters so we decided to go on El Toro I wanted to then jump over to Nitro. Little did I know how much I was going to love that ride. It must of only been open 4 or 5 and I had never heard any hype about it. Also KZbin and coaster content was less prevalent those days. I feel like it made me love it even more however as I wasn't expecting the ridiculous airtime and overall out of control experience El Toro delivers. My brother almost didn't like it because of how forceful it was haha. It was when Rolling Thunder was still underneath part of it. I remember riding thunder at the end of the day and literally feeling the train and wood sway from wood rot, being one of the few times I felt unsafe on a roller coaster haha 😄 Those are the two things I remember most about that trip. I need to get back up there when the Devil opens and ride it and Toro again!!

I’ve only ridden 9 so I’ll just rank all of them. 1. Voyage, it is also my #1 overall 2. Boulder Dash. I have a lot to say about it, Last time I rode it was in 2013 when it was at its prime. It was still smooth as butter and it still had that triple up, and that triple up to this day is my favorite moment of ejector, I loved it even more than Magnums bunny hills. 3. Cornball Express. My question is how? How is this 52 ft tall coaster so good, it’s living proof that size doesn’t matter. 4. Blue Streak (Cedar Point) I think this ride falls victim to being overshadowed by the parks bigger attractions, I love the airtime though. 5. Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain. There is nothing conventional about this coaster (which in its case it works beautifully) 6. Timberhawk. Two words: smooth and boring. 7. Hoosier Hurricane. Two words: Rough and boring. 8. Raven. I don’t know if it’s just me. But this ride was hot garbage when I rode it this year (except that 5th drop, that was kick ass) 9. Wildcat (Lake Compounce) you know it’s bad when someone wants to forget about a coaster. 10. Legend. Wait a minute... You need to do shivering timbers at Michigan's Adventure. If you want airtime this thing is a beast, and it's an insanely long ride also. The only thing wrong with it is that it's at Michigan's adventure.

All Wooden Coasters I've ridden ranked: 1. Wild One 2. Wooden Warrior 3. Roar Yeah only 3 but his wooden credits are more than all of mine combined so.

I love how at about 9:33 he says "[Let me know] which wooden coasters top your list" while showing video of Cyclops at Mt Olympus. The only people who have Cyclops in their top 10 wooden coasters have probably ridden less than 11 wooden coasters... actually, if you've ridden Cyclops you've probably also ridden Pegasus, so the only people who have Cyclops in their top 10 wooden coasters have probably ridden less than 12 wooden coasters.

Imagine if gravity group tracking was as good as their layouts! The Voyage is better since the park has re-tracked it! Mineblower is rough, but so good. Smoother tracking would make it higher. El Toro is so smooth, even though locals say it’s rough in some parts lol
