I’d say my favorite classic mecha anime opening would have to be Fighting On from Srungle! I love that song and it is a crime that we got Goshogun here in the states uncut and not Srungle!

@@KingCasual1986 sorry for answering so late, but Fighting On really grew on me since I made this video, I guess it would easily be in top 10 right now. And seeing how many obscure mecha shows got licensed lately, I'm quite optimistic and hope someday we'll get Srungle as well

This compilation is amazing. I love watching this and seeing shows I vaguely remember watching growing up. I can't remember the name of BTX for the life of me but thanks to this I can finally look it up. The variety in series is also amazing, ranging from popular hits to more niche selections. A compilation with openings from Macross to Gundam X is a compilation that feels lovely made. I must say, I'm surprised to see The Big O actually has a Japanese exclusive opening. I watched the show primarily in Toonami growing up so I never knew.

18:49 The Headmasters are my favorite gimmick of the Transformers franchise. I love the concept of a smaller robot becoming the head of a larger robot. My favorite of the Autobot headmasters is Hardhead, who is the team’s heavy gunner that transforms into a tank. The theme song to the anime was performed by Hironobu Kageyama, who is famous for his performances of songs for Dragon Ball Z. He also performed the theme song to M D Geist OVA seen later on in this list at 40:11. Unfortunately, we never got the Headmasters TV series in the west, and the only English dub was terribly done by Omni Productions.

40:11 M D Geist is an OVA about a titular super-soldier that was too good at what he did, and that was defeating every enemy that he came across. Deemed “most dangerous” by his superiors, he was placed inside a satellite where he slept for many years. When his satellite crashes down on the planet Jerra, he is awake once again and joins an army that is trying to stop the “Death Force,” a computer program made to kill all living beings on the planet. Geist has other plans though, and activates the Death Force instead, unleashing destruction upon the entire planet. The film is one of those “so bad it’s good” movies, but I enjoyed it when I watched it. The sequel listed at 52:12 however was downright terrible. Geist was voiced by Norio Wakamoto, who is known for voicing Cell from Dragon Ball Z.

Originally wanted to upload it for 26th anniversary of G Gundam Regarding the „Singing” series - I had already done majority of clips for the Char edition, but… somehow I started to doubt if the way i was doing them before was right - especially when it comes to layout and the images I was using. For now I’d like to focus on retro anime/mecha/mahou shoujo (this channel is called Magical Corner after all lol) toplists and compilations, as well as uploading older openings in better quality. I’ll definitely finish the Char video sometime (though there are much more of them than I expected *looks at Seed*), and after Hathaway’s Flash first movie I’d like to test new layout for singing series with „Noah Family Singing”. I also wanted to ask - If a certain seiyuu appeared in one of protagoinist videos, but they voiced a Char clone too, should I include them again (*points at Ulube and Graham*)?

Looking forward to your compilation video (rather than a "toplist", as you said) of 2000 - 2009 Mecha Openings. Some suggestions from my part on this: - The list is arranged in chronological sequence (starting with year 2000, 2001, all the way to 2009). - For series with multiple OPs, sort them starting with your least favourite to your favourite.

I am going to try my luck here When I was a kid back in the 90s I watched a mech anime on vhs that my neighbours owned, I can't recall much except some of the ending, it is without a doubt a multiple movie franchise but I only ever watched 1 episode / movie since it was all they had. Have been searching for hours now and unable to find it. Humanity is living in some sort of massive space station and they have mechs that protect them (I can't remember against what), the mech pilots are highly revered if i remember correctly and on this space station the main character (a mech pilot) has a love interest, near the end the mechs go out to intercept something and the main character is kinda defeated and you see his mech float about in space while it sort of cuts back to the love interest that is performing in a show back on the space station where it then ends in a cliffhanger. the characters are sort of late teen/early adult like, no oversexualization like massive boobs (a lot of the ones i ran into during my search had characters that looked like kids or had oversexualized female characters). also im not 100% sure but i think most of the mechs were painted white and very sleek looking

Both Gundam X openings are included, around 50-30 mark if I remember correctly.
