Hey Lady! Thank you for these great ideas! I made some pincushions out of old bangle bracelets. Not practical. They don't let you get your wrist in there to work and they catch or stop you from getting your hands where they need to be. To bulky. Fun but if you sew alot you need a quick pin collector. I drop pins on the floor so it will help me pick it up quick. I sew barefoot because my cat would sleep by my foot peddle and I was worried not to catch her in between when I pushed down. Have a great day.

Great magnetic hacks. I have magnetic tool holders screwed under a shelf above my sewing machine to hold scissors, needles, Etc. off the table. The magnetic tool holder bars can also be slipped into a sleeve attached to a fabric basket for temporary storage attached to a magnetic whiteboard. I use a large magnetic whiteboard as a temporary cutting surface covered with rotary cutting mats. The magnetic skittle pins can be used to pin patterns to fabric, lighter in weight than fabric weights, they stay in place but are easy to pick up and move out of the way. A couple of magnetic tool holders screwed to the edge of a wardrobe hold the whiteboard out of the way when the sewing room reverts to an extra bedroom. When it is stored vertically the whiteboard can be used as a design board.

Magnets and computer sewing machines don't work well together.

I imagine that to be true, I keep them on my wristlet or pin cushion; not on my machine! It can mess with your bobbin casing as well!

You’re a natural born teacher Dawn, with your soothing voice and warm disposition. Thank you for this useful and easy to follow tutorial. I’m getting back to sewing from Home Economics after 40 years lol. These small projects will be perfect for me to get back into the swing of it, thank you so much.
