In this video I am going to go over the top 5 best and most useful tools whenever I am working on my car or even for work like remodeling around the house. I love my flex head ratchets. Mine are a little different (they swivel in the centre and can become like a straight vertical screw driver), but same idea in that they work with different angles. Well worth what I paid.

I'm always surprised when folks complain about the torque of that ratchet. Power ratchets are not for breaking or tightening, you do those by hand, with the power mostly for running bolts/nuts up and down quickly. They are not impact driven (i.e. which would remove the reaction from your hands) as is that nut driver, so it would be a knuckle buster if the torque were any higher. I agree with that extendable flex head ratchet, use mine a lot, only switching to the regular ratchets when there are space constraints, like, master cylinders and under dash work. Almost never have to switch to 1/2 drive ratchet even on larger suspension bolts, axle nuts, now that's another story.

Nothing wrong with your tools getting you excited. I suffer from the same affliction :-) I'm so glad I watched this video. While I had a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter that came with my socket set, I did not have the other ratchet adapters shown in your video. I decided to pick some up and I'm so glad I did. When I found myself working on an old rusty BMW there were numerous instances where the various sized adapters were lifesavers. Thanks for the recommendation!

I love my ratchet wrench. Yes it was expensive but as a time saver it's awesome. I do like your socket organiser, clearly visible sizes are great. I paint the sizes on the side of the sockets with a white paint pen. I do like the look of your long bendy wrenches, they look sweet!

I got a chicago electric hammer drill from harbor freight and i have put that thing through the ringer with loads of concrete work and still going strong. Was unexpectedly impressed with it for the cost. Other than harbor freights central pneumatic accesories i havent had any problems. Ill be going with high dollar brands a lot less from here on.

One of the most recent tools I bought... not spectacular but has proven to be amazingly useful... 600mm breaker bar for 1/2" drive sockets... bought to assist in fitting an emove to a caravan, but has been used lots since.

Just fyi the Hansen socket organizers are designed for the sockets to be stored hex side down. Then the numbers on the stick show up better, along with the drive size of the socket being visible (3/8, 1/2 etc). Great videos man, I'm subscribed.

M12 ratchet is the best gen1. The gen 2 fuel is just to big ,something inside of me wanted but when I compare it side by side, is hard to choose.is just Less versatile in tight spaces.

I just ordered the Extendable 3/8" Ratchet with a flex head thanks to your video. That's a highly needed tool for any DIYer. I already have the Milwaukee 3/8" ratchet is a nice tool to have, for engine work and all of the above, I got mine off Amazon in separate orders too, 35 bucks for 2 batteries/charger and 95 bucks for the bare tool and I agree it's torque is lack luster, but then again I didn't buy it for its torque power I got it for convenience. That My 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 impacts couldn't get too.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Kilmer. Everything he says has came true for the vehicles in my household over the decades. So what if he is click-baity, it's still worth watching. Lots of good little tips and I quite enjoy the Chrysler bashing if you are know how much we sank into these PoS. I like Toyota's too, our toyotas have all been comically cheap to drive and maintain. More money in pocket for the kid's future education. Also what's wrong with making money? This dude cheaps out on ratchets. You can get a 1/4", 3/8", AND a 1/2" ratchet on the "Professional" line from Harbor Freight for under $50. I've never broke one. Even if you do, they have lifetime warranties and will exchange it for a new one right there on the spot. They look good, I've never broken one or had an issue with any of mine that I bought a decade ago. I've put them through the ringer too using them professionally virtually everyday. Don't use reducing adapters either. They dont take much to break. A 3/8" are made the torque applied on a 3/8" ratchet. If you need to reduce down to use a 3/8", just buy a long handled 3/8" $20USD. Its something you buy once but have forever. Most of the time, you use it more than once. If he can afford to buy long handled ratcheting wrenches, there's no reason he can't afford long handled ratchets to do it right

I got same box end ratcheting wrench set by ATD tools branded as Platinum similar to Mountain before starting a timing belt job. They are extremely useful in hard to reach areas. Another important feature is reversible lever which prevents ratchet to be locked in a tight place when removing a bolt.

I personally prefer the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh swivel head 3/8 ratchet. Although the quality of the build has gone down in recent years (plastic seems to be utilized in the mechanism), their ratchets can get the majority of the work done at any angle. There is a huge difference in the design of the head compared to flex head ratchets, and I implore you to investigate that for yourself. Also, I have a set of Stanley locking flex ratchet wrenches. Just like how you mention that a flex head ratchet that is flimsy can cause you more grievance, a locking flex ratchet wrench definitely comes in handy. I am intrigued by your recommendation of an offset, I'll be looking for a set of locking flex ratchet wrenches with the offset box

You have your sockets upside down in your socket organizer. It seems counterintuitive but they fit better the other way. Took me a while to realize this myself. Not only do they fit better, but you will find it really handy when you are done with the socket to just place your ratchet head over the spot on the organizer and push the button to release the socket right down onto the stem.

rueliotube correct... sockets are upside down. The base of each spindle is sized to fit the corresponding socket... this helps keep them from moving around and helps prevent sockets from being placed in the wrong location

Impact wrench is, hands down, the best tool I bought for auto work. I stopped stripping the heads off bolts and immensely reduced my work time because I wasn't taking an hour trying to undo a stuck fastener. When I got one I was like, "Why didn't I get one of these months ago?"

Thank you for your videos. I just purchased the E-Z Red redhead expendable ratchet as a part of doing my first DIG timing belt, water pump, and crank/cam seals on my RX300. Wrench worked great on both flex and extra leverage on extension. They have upgraded the wrench so the head locks in place by pressing a button on the side of it. I'm normally a Harbor Freight person but their version doesn't have the head click/lock you recommended. I got mine for $26 bucks on Amazon. Only $5 bucks more than H-F with better features.
