I say white bear lake. So close to cities. Has a small town feel. Downtown white bear has a farmer market every Thursday in the summer. You can go to cup and cone for socializing. All kinds of different bars and restaurants to go to. And right up hwy 61, you have the auction at the blacksmith. In a very short distance, you have different lakes. And white bear does outside movies, so much fun. What more could you ask for. 😊😊

Most cities in Minnesota/twin cities are pretty awesome in their own ways. When I heard top 5 I made my own mental list. Most I came up with were like one town away from yours. I think Hopkins beats st Louis Park. West end is pretty awesome though. I think Plymouth beats Maple grove. Arbor lakes is a lobster trap. You can get in but you can't get out. Delano. Small town simplicity without being too far from civilization, and enough people that there's mostly what you need. Corcoran/Greenfield. If you want land and again, like Delano, not too far from where your job might be. Eden prairie for 1 reason and only one reason Lions Tap. My favorite burger

I guess I'm biased to the West side Minneapolis side

Plymouth is in my honorable mentions. I love Plymouth but the homes are too expensive. That's my only knock on it. I've only been to Delano once so I dont really know what's out there. Was just in Eden Prairie today doing an open house. I wont dispute that one. Alot of stuff out that way. I will admit that Arbor lakes traffic can be super stupid during busy times of the day, but I'm never there at that time lol!

I would not sleep well living in St Louis Park. I work in and around Wayzata. Agreed, though... if you can afford Wayzata, you can live anywhere in Minnesota. There are military contractors located in Wayzata/Plymouth, so I doubt the money will ever stop flowing to there. I would personally choose Orono or Medina, though. Theres where all the professional athletes live. Chaska is another great alternative to Plymouth and Maple Grove. Chaska has an amazing downtown they are currently updating. If you venture to Rogers, Dayton, Corcoran, St Micheals... they are turning into a Maple Grove style city. Cookie cutter nieghborhoods as far as you can see... I personally hate those style of nieghborhoods, but there will be a huge supply of homes there. I love Minnesota, but unless you have a family and a stable job, dont move here. The market is extremely closed, similar to California. Taxes and government spending is geared towards families and exsisting businesses. We dont tax your food or clothing, but we tax the f outta your land and income.

Why nothing in st paul? Roseville, arden hills and new brighton would be great options in ramsey county. For me, i lean more towards hennepin county. My take Duluth - nice to visit in the summer, but that is it. Duluth has one big con and that is the location. It’s kind of isolated for a medium city and the cold, snow, ice plus hilly city? Wayzata - too expensive St Louis park, great city but hard to differentiate between it and Minneapolis sometimes. If you want the quit suburban lifestyle may need to look further. Maple grove - spot on great city Plymouth another great city but homes are pricy. Lake Elmo is a good city in my opinion.

Minnesota is really a mixed bag. The arrowhead region and the rest of Minnesota’s far north, the regions around the St. Croix river on the Wisconsin border, and the bluff country and Mississippi River valley in the southeast corner of the state are all cool. The Twin Cities area is miserable and I have never understood why so many swoon over it to the degree that they do. But to each their own, I suppose. @@movingtominnesota I moved to Montana. My family has been here since 1967. I have relatives in Billings and Helena, and my grandmother lives in an assisted living facility in Laurel. It is useful for me to be here and take care of things for my grandmother and on our family's place here, where I now live; a big set of obligations for me. But the choice to move here was 100% my own and one I made with great enthusiasm. I have lived in Bloomington, Shakopee, Jordan, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Eagan, Richfield, and more. I've moved a lot.
