My top 5 classic pinball machines I'd like to see remade by Pedretti | Bally Williams games return?

Pinball KZbinr Cary Hardy yesterday revealed that he will be working in conjunction with Pedretti to promote the release of some classic remakes of some of our favourite pinball machines and retro releases. During the video Cary hinted at the fact some of the releases were pretty obvious and started that if anyone selected 5 of their favourite pinball games then it would contain at least 1Pedretti remake!!!! Exciting times.

I don't know if it makes sense to remake a table that already had a big manufacturing run. Just based on popularity and a fairly limited initial run, logical choices would be TotAN, Cirqus Voltaire and Scared Stiff. And yes, I'd love a Champion Pub too, but I don't know if it has the same aura as those other tables. But given the choice, yeah, I'd definitely take it over a TotAN.

Your list matches what I'd expect, except I think I'd swap Champion Pub for Addams Family. I think the license is 'gettable' since @games has an Addams themed Vpin, so they are open to licensing... Creature gets an honorable mention.

I got into pinball just over 20 years ago, when a decent TOM or TZ could be yours for around £1000 - £1200. Ebay used to be loaded with machines for sale every week. Sunday nights always seemed to be a popular time for auctions to end, I got a Flintstones for £500 and a Dracula for a similar sum. I’m really astounded at how this hobby has exploded and how much prices have grown. Pinball has truly risen from the ashes. We must strive to preserve the originals, as well as embrace the remakes. Being an old soul boy, I will always prefer the originals of course 😊. CFTBL deserves a remake, some serious magic could be done with the creature hologram these days.

@@GonzosPinballFlipperama About 25 years ago, there was a large fruit, gaming and pinball machine operator based in the town I lived in, they were bringing various machines back off site and putting a sledgehammer to them. Thankfully (as I guess you may know) a few enterprising guys managed to rescue them in quantity at nice prices (demand was relatively low at the time). A guy I met had over 100 pinball machines, most of them ‘up-ended’ in various outbuildings and lock-ups. I remember visiting his home on one occasion, there were 5 machines in his lounge, one of which was a Centaur he was repairing right in front of the TV. Unbelievably, he wasn’t a divorcee!

Great episode Gonzo. Here's my list: 1. CIRCUS VOLTAIRE 2. Tales of the Arabian Nights 3. Theatre of Magic 4. Champion Pub 5. Whitewater 6. Banzai Run 7. Road Show (Red & Ted's) 8. Congo And I prefer CGC make them as they build tanks and stand behind them, they're located in the US and the $8K price is fair. If Pedretti can make games as solid (remains to be seen) and can sell in the US for $8K, i'd consider them, but they'll need to support them with parts IN US. I've seen friends wait long delays getting parts from Europe and that won't do.

This is going to be dangerous to both my wallet and availability of space. I’ve been wanting a Twilight Zone for a long time, but can’t justify the current price on a used and mass produced machine. However a NIB TZ ticks all the boxes for me. Indiana Jones would be right under TZ and then I’d also love a NIB Whitewater.

In no order; Theatre of Magic Tales of the Arabian Knights Cirqus Voltaire Creature from the Black Lagoon and probably Scared Stiff Could afford any of them? Probably not, but one can dream.

My 5 DMD games would be Scared Stiff, Theater of Magic, Safe Cracker, No Good Gofers, or Tales of Arabian Nights. There are a ton of TZ, Indiana Jones, Addams Family, STtNG, Black Lagoon out in the world so I don't think they'll do those but who knows. There are so many on the market you can always find one. Congo would be good but licensing might be a problem with a lot of these games that have IPs. It's owned by Paramount... so is STtNG & Addams Family. Paramount is kind of down the crapper these days. Based on parts available and quantity of games on market from I think the possibilities are going to be No Good Gofers, Scared Stiff, Theater of Magic, EatPM, Big Guns, or Safecracker. You can get parts for those. Whirlwind, Funhouse, or any game they have already made 2.0 kits for could be a good chance so that's why I think No Good Gofers might be one of the first unless they really are doing Twilight Zone or Fish Tales. White Water maybe, maybe they'll do but there were a lot of those made. I'd love to see Champion Pub, Bad Cats, or Junk Yard but the main figures or plastics aren't available so probably not going to happen. I also think I'm the only person who thinks Cirqus Voltaire is not a fun game. I honestly have not played a game made after 2015 I like more than my collection of 90s pins except Labyrinth but as you said they just don't make pinball machines the same. I miss the quirky weird stuff they used to do.

Difficult. Do you remake games that are still available to play or purchase, by and large? Or do you look backwards in time with classics from the 70's and 80's? As much as I'd love to see remakes of Black Knight, FirePower, Xenon, Medusa, or Vector, today's market woudn't support that decision. I'd go all post 1990 with Indiana Jones, Bad Cats, Diner, Creature from The Black Lagoon, and Whitewater

Imagine if stern made the remakes using the new factory would be able to pump out 1000 of each quciker than pulp fiction hit the streets

Mostly in others it comes across in subtle comments and subtext... maybe they even do it subconsciously, but I for sure have witnessed "my shit don't stink" type personas, attitudes, and behaviora on other channels.

Very close to your list Kris. I don't think they need to worry about games that need licenses. Too difficult, expensive, and already so many in used market like AF and TZ. I agree I just can't enjoy TZ. I want to but i don't like it. Similar to your comments on TOM, the only reason I don't have WH20 on the list is because I already have it, otherwise it would be. 1) TOTAN 2) CV big drop off.... 3) TOM 4) WCS - but update without the dog and get rid of the teal and purple and I would buy it. 5) Champion Pub - too many Fishtales and Getaways in the used market. Great topic for speculation.
