What size/ color wicked lite do you use for steel head. Also sadly the rivers near Arlington are hitting record high highs….

I know definitely hits home seeing that whole valley blown out like it is. My favorite color for Steelhead is the black and pink in the clear and slightly tint water and pink/chart with some color

The best advice I can give is using the regulations and emergency rule updates for determining open areas. There are a lot of changes happening within the regulations pre and during season. Good luck on the water

Really depends on how the runs are and regulations. But the snoqualmie is one of closest I believe to Seattle.

@@HolyMolyOutdoors what areas in a river do you like to target for steelhead? Are you looking for deep slow pools, vigorous riffles, head/tail of a pool?

@@321Phinney Great question there. Honestly it really depends on the river or situation. I pick the river apart into sections and target those with different techniques. For example may start at the head of a hold and hit the inside seam off a riffle then work towards the meat of the run fishing the travel lanes. All those spots can hold fish just have to let the river tell you what is happening

definitely steelhead. Unfortunately, getting hand surgery right before Christmas so my season will be cut short😢. So someone out there catch one for me. Lol.

How deep should I got for the cutthroat this type of year? I have no down rigger so I guess how much weight should I add?

Can get them right now surface to 20’. Very doable without riggers. Half ounce up to 2oz is all you need

@@HolyMolyOutdoors what is your go-to setup for targeting cutthroat from the shores around seattle? Would you use a bobber with shrimp or other bait? Small spinners?

@@321Phinney definitely spinners, small jerkbaits and bait from shore on lake Washington and Sammamish.
