The walden is similar to my old craftsman 43582. I love that ratchet. Its a solid round head with a smooth handle. Your love for old ratchets is admirable. Thanks for the video.

I have vintage Craftsman ratchets in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" which are all pretty much identical to that Easco - low tooth count by modern standards, but very dependable.

My favorite ratchet is a 3/8 flex head long handle Blackhawk that looks like the Proto you have. I still use it to this day. I'm sure the ratchets is old as I am or older. To my knowledge it's never been opened or cleaned

My dad gave me a 5257 and the 1/2 version as a teenager, and it's still one of my go-to's for 3/8. It's a -3 and not a -4 too, I'd be really happy if it was a nicer -4 version. I have the 1/2 version of that Walden, and it's certainly not a winner. Very coarse, very stiff, and a very tall head. They sure do look cool though and the mechanism is definitely interesting. Yours is in great shape while my 1/2" seems to have been to hell and back. Been hammered on and or used as a hammer, but it still works as good as I assume it ever did.

Wizard was the house brand for Western Auto. They went out of business in the 1990s. Their old building where I live, is now an Advance Auto Parts.

The Walden ratchet you show. I have a Mac flex head ratchet that has the same reverse design. It's probably 20 years old or something. I believe it is made by Facom tools. Its my favorite 1\4 ratchet. But it slips alot and it does reverse itself alot while using it. Even still I like it alot.

The Proto is very similar but not identical to my Blackhawk 34935. Very similar.

that proto looks awfully similar to the Champion Plug-Master video you did. Do you think they are made by the same company?

Very nice brother! I recently started investing in tools, at first just to use, then I grabbed a couple German things and now I'm addicted lol. Off topic from the video, but do you have any suggestions for storing screwdrivers that make them easily accessible? Like a stand that holds a decent amount and looks good?

Nice selection. Like a lot of people, If I could afford it, I would replace most of my tools with the Wright brand, or maybe Snap-On.

watchin this, hearing the talk about the american made tools & tool companies... makes me sad to know that my personal favorite, sk tools (of which i have my own, as well as my grandfathers old sk wayne tools) has now sold their soul to the chinese ...one of the last great made in america tool companies now gone ...& i say "gone" because much like the craftsman garbage on the shelf at lowes nowadays thats made in china, i will not be spending my hard earned american dollars on any chinese made tools that say sk or craftsman ...nice video man, enjoyed it, thanx

Man that sellout absolutely killed me. I have my grandfathers sk sockets and ratchets he scavenged out of the dump on the army base he was stationed at back in the mid 60s. He’s gone, but his tools just keep working.

He does indeed like Craftsman ratchets as "Catus Maximus" spoke favorably here of the Easco brand which manufactured Craftsman ratchets (Sears itself never made anything such as their Craftsman tools. It had everything built for them by outside companies).
