Nice video! Now I wonder if we could get a ''top 5 heavy WW2 solo games'' hehe (though, could be that it would like 80% identical to your top 5 games) I really want to give Airborne commander a try, but I heard and it looks like its really easy to do well (especially withouth the extra cards / expansion) And combines with the fact that its pretty expensive to get a copy & then have it ship over to Europe from the US I just cannot justify getting it.... Not sure if a print & play exists for this one, would be a perfect solution since the game is just cards.

Well I'd have to do a "Top 5 Mid-complexity WW2 solo games" first! xD To be quite honest, since I've only been playing for a couple of years, I've almost exclusively played light to medium wargames. The only games that I played that could be considered "Heavy complex" would probably be Patton's Best and Halls of Hegra, so it wouldn't be a very long list :P I hope to improve on that moving on. One thing that I've noticed is that with heavy games, it does take quite long to learn them, but they give so much entertainment that you can play them for a really long time. The problem with that though is that I noticed that people do generally loose interest after the first video of a game that I post. So it's a very big investment for very little viewer feedback. Therefore because of the channel I also tend to play lighter to medium complex games because that way I am able to have time and energy to feature way more games. About Airborne Commander: It is quite easy, but, the 2nd edition available on the game crafter also features the expansion pack which does make it much more difficult! But yes, it's expensive for us Europeans! Maybe you can do like me and find a US connection to send it, for cheaper postage and avoiding those import fees.

Lovely video, Daniel! I enjoy the concept of this video. A similar list with medium-weight solo war games would be great too! I had Maquis. It's a good game, but I found it too repetitive and difficult. Beautiful graphic design though.

Thank you Bart! I agree about Maquis, it's the two things I didn't like with the game. It's a game I'll play for one hour max at times, otherwise it does get too repetitive. It's also difficult, but there are ways to actually make it quite easier. For example if you track the guards and take notes of where the guards have been, and mark that with a marker, you can figure out the next places where guards can and can't go. This makes it a lot easier!

Thank you! If you look at my top 5 list you'll find the excellent "The Hunters" at #1! However those games are quite complex, lots of rules and lots of exceptions, so I really would not call them "light" or recommend them to a beginner. Javier Rubio Torrest is designing a book game "Sea Wolves: Battle of the Atlantic" which deals with subs, soon to be released. It could be a good sub game for beginners, I hope to review it in the future so we can find out!
