Okay so I recently got sub 20 here's some tips use advanced cross, it's very good(I use it) you can use intuitive f2l (I use it) work on look ahead. dont turn fast, turn slow until you get fast on your own(I did this) learn at least 4look last layer(I use 2 look oll and 1-2 look pll) then just practice until you get it 👍 hope this helped

As for your first tip, the whole "Algorithmic F2L is evil" mentality really screwed me over for a very long time. I finally realized what I was doing wrong and learned a bunch of algorithms and I've gotten so much faster.
@jasonthecuber7 жыл бұрын
Noah Fence I learned intuitively at first and then as I got faster picked up algs. I'd say by 30 I had quite a few algs. I'm about 18 now and still need to apply some of these tips. Occasionally I still struggle with full cross planning. :O Not usually but once in a while.
@Blazik3n997 жыл бұрын
Noah Fence I think the mentality is that learning an alg for every case isn't always beneficial. I don't learn an F2L alg like a LL alg, I sorta memorise it intuitively and understand what it is doing to the pieces. I might be able to write down an OLL or PLL alg but I wouldn't be able to do that with an F2L alg.
@graham_lively17326 жыл бұрын
I never used algs for F2L I just used intuitive that I can execute as fast as an alg as soon as I see a case

I'll tell people to learn intuitive when they first learn F2L, but learning some algs later is definitely good. I know a guy who started with only algs, he just memorized algs for every F2L case. Watching him solve, I notice that he does every case from only one angle, which I believe is a consequence of completely skipping learning some intuitive F2L. In addition, he never learned look ahead. He averages like 16 now, and I think he can be sub-14/13 easily with his efficiency if he just reduced pauses. I'm helping him out now, but it's definitely hard to reverse if someone gets into alg-only F2L without trying intuitve at all.
@cyotheking7 жыл бұрын
TheProgrammingCuber yeah intuitive is good. But people shouldn't use it as an excuse not to learn algs. I definitely think people should learn intuitive. Just get some good algs too ;)

I'm average about 15 seconds right now. About the algorithmic f2l cases, I know it's good to learn algs for f2l, but I shouldn't be relying simply on the moves of the algorithm right? The whole concept of intuitive f2l is so that you can track pieces easier without looking at what you're doing...so when I learn algs for f2l shouldn't I also pay attention to what the algs are doing? I know this doesn't apply to every alg set, like PLL because you don't need to know where your pieces are going in PLL, or even OLL really.
@tcubed32196 жыл бұрын
For F2L I think you should learn intuitive to start you off and then learn some more concepts and fix the bad cases with algs

I really struggle in f2l oll and pll. When I loosen it , the top right corner catches on the top center no matter what and other tensions that work just have terrible feeling. I want a cube that glides through that its really smooth and doesnt have too much tactile feel. I feel like its distracting for me and that doesnt lock up all the time.
