That looks very nice! One useful addition is to fit stainless rear door hinge pins that stops the rusty stains running down the body of the hinge, and of course you have fitted the stainless steel bolt/fixings kit, which is a real must, have you informed your insurers about these "modifications", they have the strange notion that any modification requires you to tell them, whereas most people assume that it is only increase in performance that requires them to be notified, strange bunch car insurers, looking for any excuse not to pay out! Stay safe! Chris B.

Thanks Chris- I have told them about the changes- they sort of categorised them so I’m all sorted. That’s a good idea about the pins- as I still sometimes get the drips of rust from the hinges

Very good video. My 110 was bare metal inside when I got it so my first mod was a full sound proof and carpeting. now its very quiet inside. when I got it it had mud tyres but I found them noisy, switched to AT and makes a lot of difference to me. One of my favourite mods to keep things tidier in the back is the back-door storage from Tuff-Trek, very good. A full set of LEDs is now on order as cant cope with the candle powered lights it currently have. Thanks for the link to the SS Bolts. def need them.

That´s a really good looking 90 you got with some nice and practical mods. For the rear door hinges ( if you want to keep the spare wheel on the door) I can recommend hinges from "offroad monkeys", germany. They got some goodies for LR. I´m preparing a 110,300tdi for long range overlanding...an endless task. Getting "the beast" watertight, replacing every nut and bolt to stainless (costs a fortune..), sounddeadning with alubutyl and armaflex...and on and on..! I would leave carpets out,so you can identify where water comes in much easier..!Like your videos, keep filming, greets from germany

I’d agree with most of those especially the mud shields which are a brilliant and inexpensive fix for something Land Rover should have fixed years ago. I wouldn’t suggest a sunroof, my experience with them in Defenders and series has never been good as they eventually leek and it ends up raining inside. It’s because the aluminium alloy that the roof is made from stretches eventually from the sun roof being opened and shut over and over again. You’ve got air con anyway haven’t you.

Stainless steel kills defenders due to galvanic corrosion. Always replace with zinc plated, galvanized or original. Adding stainless will possibly destroy body panels and it is also softer so if you want to depend on the bolts for strength go for 8.8 or higher zink plated. This is the mistake so many make with their defenders. Love defender just dislike people possibly damaging the aluminum with adding stainless.

@IamNasman3 жыл бұрын
Rock sliders and tree sliders you can get from craddocks, Paddocks, Britpart or most companies that do aftermarket Defender bits. Most full sliders don’t have much of a step incorporated in to them though. You could put a side bar on, similar to the XS spec factory fitted ones, these aren’t true sliders but are good steps and deter other car owners from smacking the side of your door in car parks.
