Late to comment, because I just chanced upon this video. Cool list, to say the least. But I think I missed #4. You seemed to go from #5 to #3, if I’m not mistaken. Anyway, the MB 149 is one of my sentimental favorites. I just prefer the 146 a bit more. I own both models. Platinum 3776 is just great in any color or finish. My favorites are my two celluloid ones. Aurora 88 is my absolute favorite pen of all time. I have eight of them, including two vintage ones. The Namiki Emperor is a true grail pen, by any standards. I envy you for this. But I bought what was long time grail pen for me: the Pilot Custom 845 ( vermillion). Thanks for showcasing your top 5 and the honorable mentions are always a welcome bonus.

MB 149 is my top choice for signatures. For my its bit too large for regular writing & mine has OBB nib. Parker Duofold is on my "must have" list. My favorites for regular writing are: Sailor 1911 L, MB 146, Pelikan M600, Waterman L'etalon & Carene. BTW Namiki Emperor looks absolutely fabulous & I bet writing experience is the same.

Wow!: that’s some list! - thanks for sharing:); haven’t developed taste for monster nibs, yet! - my biggest is the no.15 on my Pilot Custom 823 ‘F’ which writes beautifully and puts down a lovely fine line; is there any chance you could show us writing samples with both your top 5 plus your ‘honourable mentions’ if you get the opportunity, please?:)

As much as I like larger fountain pens, the Montblanc Meisterstück 149 is (for me) too large. However the Montblanc Meisterstück 146 is perfect. Similarly, the Pelikan 1000 is a bit big while the Pelikan 800 is (again, for me) perfect.

Where do you give a pen like the emperor to tune the nib, or i should ask who do you trust to work on a grail pen in India . Can you make a video where you share your experience about Indian pen manufacturers and nib experts, not just their pens or nib grinds (products) but in general how do you rate them compared to a more mature fountain pen market such as Japan, USA, UK.

लगता है आप भारत से नहीं है , आपने अपने कलेक्शन में जो भी दिखाया वो सारे पेन नहीं एक ब्रांड है। जो 99% इंडियन अफ़्फोर्ड नहीं कर पाएंगे ये बस उनके लिए हैं जो हमारे लिए नहीं है। मैं 50 पेज रोज लिखता हूँ कुछ ऐसा दिखाइए जो बजट में हो । एक पेन की कीमत लाखो में इतने में तो मैं लाइफ टाइम लिख लूँगा वैसे पेनोमैटिक फाउंटेन पेन भी बहुत समुद चलता है लेकिन क्लासी नहीं है और इतनी कम कीमत है जिसे रिक्शे वाले का बेटा भी ले ले। 😁😁😁😁
