My Top Places To Buy Fabric and Sewing Supplies - Online Websites and In Person Shopping not Joann’s

Here are all the places I buy fabric and sewing supplies. I've been thinking about what to do if Joann Fabrics closes soon, and the idea of being able to hop in the car on any day of the week and head over to Joann's to buy a yard or two of interfacing, a thread color I need, some extra elastic, well...it means I need to plan ahead or get creative and find other local and online options!
Lucky for me, I have a lot of places (mostly online) that I enjoy shopping at for fabric and notions. This video I share my other favorite places to buy fabrics and sewing supplies, especially if Joanns closes after filing bankruptcy for the second time in less than two years.

Looking for local, in person ways to shop for fabric?
Try Walmart. Yes, some walmarts do sell fabric. Mine sells half an isle of one yard cuts.
Try Hobby Lobby. They are closed on Sundays but fabric is almost always on sale. Buttons and Zippers are pretty cheap, too. www.hobbylobby...

Fabric Mart is my FAVORITE!! I cannot resist their mystery bundles. I have never received bad fabric from Fabric Mart

A couple of small businesses fabric stores I’ve ordered from is Surge Fabrics and Raspberry Creek Fabrics. I’ve ordered quite a bit from Surge Fabrics and they seem to be steadily increasing their range of fabrics (they also carry stretch lace in various widths). I recently placed my first order from Raspberry Creek and was pleased with the quality. Lisa, I think you could find a lot of cute jersey, French terry, etc. prints for your nieces there. 😉

In person, I like SR Harris in the Twin Cities in the Minneapolis area for fabric. They carry everything from leather to formal fabrics to quilting fabrics. Their prices are great, too. Online I love Minerva’s and The Fabric Market. I’ve gotten great fabrics from all of these places in the past. Thanks for the great video!

I love Minerva too. The shipping if you don't order enough for free shipping is $7.99, I've paid more than that for fabric from US.

Joanne’s came in and ran all independent yardage stores out of town. And then Joanne’s did not ever really meet the sewers needs. I will not miss her but will miss having no brick and mortar store. I’m sick to death of the disappointment in on line fabric. Btw, I live half time in Europe and we have a similar problem here. Brick and mortar are all disappearing. That print is beautiful on you!
