I have Veteran William and he has that certain quality you just can't describe. He's going to be one of those figures where you say... "I remember when he came out and I was lucky to get one. " Man just try and get one now without selling your organs. He's a star figure of his own but you can army build him and still make him stand out.

In '24, I'm waiting patiently for LooseCollector to blow my doors off with that werewolf. I don't think he'll challenge my love for Veteran William, there's just too much power in that figure to build your ideal werewolf, BUT for a huge, powerful, posable werewolf god, LC gonna fill that void in my life. But for year end, yeah, i don't think Spero can be touched. Jada was a close second, especially with their broad range of subjects, but the quality of Spero, with an original IP... yeah, I'm in all day. But for me, the small companies were just mercing the big three this year. Mastro Union, Memory Toys, Mithril Action, Fury Toys, D24 Studios, just KILLED this year. The variety of IPs, the paint, the articulation, the accessories, this was an absolute banner year once you got past the corporate chicanery and treated the dishes they don't want you to savor. Hasbro, Mattel, NECA, even McF, are fast food... I'm ready to dine gourmet.

While I still think it’s an awesome figure from the reviews, I’m more looking forward to Loose Collector’s Great Wolves figures and, when they come out, I’ll be getting one of them for my Werewolf fix.

Great choices. Had two AWOKs on mine, a few Four Horsemens, and one from both Furay Planet and Jada Street Fighter too. But you’re collecting different stuff and I LOVE that. Appreciate hearing folks’ thoughts. For example, I didn’t grab that Kilmer Bats, but he does look really good. And I don’t do Legends, but if I did, that Widow and Spiral would be on my list. Good picks. Bone Brawlers are in my top 10 too. They look so creepy and move so well. I can’t help but see them in stop motion when I see them. Creepy good. Jada is bringing hits after hits in Street Fighter. Love AWoK. The most solid figures that move so smooth. Great stuff…. Loose Collector Red Sonja teases me every time I see that beautiful figure. I didn’t pull trigger on it. I’m thinking about hunting it down or wait till Boss Fight. I like that Wal-Tor but I’m holding out for Oper-a-tiv 84 or something like that. That crazy Man-E-Faces color scheme looks so good. It’s the same figure mostly. The skeleton head is good on that Wal-Tor. I was eyeing it. Decided to spend money on Retail exclusive Headless Horseman instead. Black Widow is great. Ock and Green Goblin movie figures are amazing too. So much to enjoy!

I honestly gotta disagree on Black Widow. Though I can totally see your reasoning as to the male vs. female figure debate, and which ones are harder to get right, Widow was still completely outclassed by Jada's Chun-Li. Her torso articulation is head and shoulders above Widow's, her neck (while not as good as Ryu/Fei Long's) is still so much more expressive than the outdated setup that Hasbro uses, and she can do the splits without issue. Widow, to me, was a big disappointment. You had all these points of articulation, and yet so much of it barely worked. If it weren’t for the amazing headsculpts and pretty damn good spread of accessories, I might've sold her.

You must have gotten a faulty Widow, then, take a look at my pics on Insta and you'll see what it's capable of when used correctly ... and the moment Chun-Li can do a Spidey squat, something Widow CAN do, she'll take that 2 spot ... add some butterflies, and we're set, but, as it stands, Widow is the winner of the 2.

@JHernandez I can assure you, man, my Widow isn't faulty. It's just my opinion that the engineering is incredibly lackluster. Her reverse ab crunch is okay, but her diaphragm joint has a fairly limited range even compared to some other previous lady Legend bodies. This severely limits her crunch, meaning that she overall gets just an "okay" range there. Better than other female Legends, but worse than a lot of their male characters. Compare this to Chun-Li, which utilizes the much superior double ball peg setup which allows for superior crunch and tilt. This range issue is also the case for Widow's hips, which continue the ML tradition of not knowing how to engineer effective hip joints, causing a limited split. Chun-Li, on the other hand, hits a perfect split no issue. Then we come to the butterfly joints. These were so disappointing for me. They're practically useless. You get the tiniest bit of extra range, the kind that could probably be achieved with a few minor concessions to the torso to get the arms to reach around naturally. While it's true that Chun-Li doesn't have them, they're so useless on Widow that I hardly even consider them a factor. I'm holding both of them in my hands as I type this out, and the Jada figure just has the superior engineering, considered and purposeful where Hasbro just thinks more joints means more articulation. Again, these are just my thoughts. Enjoy your figure to the fullest, man. Just trying to express why I disagree.

I mean, just cause a figure can split, doesn't mean it's necessarily bulletproof. Plenty of Legends Spideys can't split properly, and they're off the chain. Chun-Li is great, engineering is awesome, I agree ... but her build severely limits what it is she can actually do, even with a rubber pelvis piece. I have both, pose both regularly, and like both. Widow, in the end, is just more versatile all around, which makes her a better figure, IMO.
