Man excellent list, just fell in love with this game recently and i've been obsessed with it. Wish i have a consistent group to play it with, but my gaming groups either don't play the same game two weeks in a row or prefer to play low interaction games so i've struggle to play it more often. I've now finished your series on Cosmic Encounter and honestly it's been so helpful learning which aliens do what in an easy to digest way. Sure I could look at the wiki but A) half of the pages are dead (not sure why) and B) it's easier for me to learn watching than reading. Amazing video as per always! I really enjoy this type of editing style for a board game youtuber. However I am now turning into Omni-Man asking "Where's season three William" but instead it's "Where's the expansions IcarusPanda?" Manifesting it as a Halloween gift! After all what's scarier than your friends being the Virus.

Just finished your cosmic encounter aliens series. Good visuals and analysis for someone like me, who although have not played yet, I want to play this game for the last 2-3 years. Can't wait to play the base game in a few days. My question is, are the aliens chosen from all 50 at the start or they're dealt at random, are they hidden until their abilities are used or are they visible for everyone?

Hi! Thanks for watching:) If you're playing by the rules in the rulebook, each player will get two flare cards at the start of the game. There's a flare card for each alien in the game, so you pick between those two powers. Often my friends and I will draw more than two, depending on how many expansions we are playing with. Powers are public from the start of the game. there are game variants however where they are hidden during the game which I believe I reference in this video.

Great series! Played Fido for the first time recently in a 5-player game, and he was the most fun alien I've played in a while! Are you planning on doing a series for the expansion aliens? Either a list for each expansion, or an overall top 50 for all expansions?
