Yeah, the rarity of the mods you craft is based on your crafting skill. If it's high enough, you'll crank out legendary mods even if the crafting spec is green. The downside to this is that you can't craft lower tier mods. Got an epic piece of clothing and need an Armadillo mod for it, but you can only craft legendary ones? You'll have to either buy an epic mod, or get it from a piece of clothing you've looted or bought.

This is an incorrect statement. Your Clothing mods and weapon mods are scaled according to your perk rewards level. (the 0-20 scale in the lower left corner of the screen) You increase these by doing the tasks related to that attribute. I.e. crafting FYI: Crafting mods scale up at reward levels 12 blue , 15 purple , and 18 for legendary (gold) So think of it like this. You can add attribute points to tech and get it to 20, but if you never craft anything your mods will still be at the lowest levels.

Just a little note on the Armadillo mod : It scales with your crafting skill, to the best of my knowledge. Picking it up as a grey/green level won't stop you from crafting the higher tier ones as you level your crafting skill (not Tech, Not just the perks for tiered crafting, the crafting skill itself) The caveat with this is that if you've gotten your crafting skill high up & not taken the perks needed for higher level crafting, it might be possible for you to loot the spec and not be able to craft it until you've bought the appropriate perks (eg. a crafting skill of around 10 will set the level to Blue/Rare iirc).

Yes, i've picked up armadillo spec also as common and through levelling crafting got it up to legendary. Unless they have changed it in 1.5.

@@abrahamsandwich you don't have to test it. it's written on the crafting spec itself. it will change the rarity you can craft it by leveling your crafting skill. you need crafting lvl 18 to make your armadillo crafting spec a legendary.

I'm glad they made it easier to reset all the perks; at low level I used a lot of throwing knives but now I have all the legendary quickhacks so there's usually a sneakier and more deadly option. Unlike all other ranged weapons, you can launch them from cameras and they have 100% accuracy. 🤭 Getting a better cyberdeck and increasingly-epic quickhacks was a turning point for my playthrough. Attributes, however, are something to consider very carefully since they can't be reset (so far). The bonus features of rarer decks can make up for having low INT initially-having more ram, faster cooldowns, or reduced costs for specific types of quickhacks. And the BODY skillcheck bonus of gorilla arms (plus 6 at legendary level) can make up for having low body unless you depend on having more HP etc. Optical camo can help you do stealth with low COOL, which was mentioned in the video as well. Levelling street cred is important to unlock better decks, arms, and doublejump. Another thing I'd add is to look up waifu/husbando options prior to character creation, because most of the romanceable NPCs have preferences which V can't decide at any later time.

I went with a quick hacking build due to my love of stealth my first play through and I loved it. So many interactions went smoothly when the enemies don’t know why their comrades commit suicide, start attacking each other while you just snoop around like a ghost and make your exit

Crafting specs for mods increase as you level up. It won't matter what tier of spec you pickup, when you reach level 40 you will be able to craft it in legendary tier.

The Armodillo, Crunch etc. mods leveling up with your crafting skill. You have to reach level 18, to unlock the crafting legendary item skill and in the actual crafting windows, you have to craft things, until it reaches lvl. 18. It is in that way since 1.3.

Best tip for blade users - use the black unicorn from the start of the game and stick to it. Its easy to upgrade, free, and has one of the highest base damage of any katana. Useful for banging out the blade skill tree.

Suggestion for early game Katana build: Tactics. Use some. Don't go running in trying to cut multiple enemies down at once. Use hit & run or stealth. Also put points equally into Reflexes/Blades and either Cool/Ninjutsu for a Ninja build or Body/Athletics for a Samurai build. The Ninja build is a bigger challenge IMO.

I'm busy with a stealth, katana, silenced pistol build, little squishy until lvl 14 but now at lvl 19 with already 18 in reflexes and 5 perks in the blade tree and the right cyberware its a real killer, 1 or 2 chops and all limbs start flying and its a kill, the stealth is actually for the silenced pistol part, with the katana i can already run up to the enemy and clear the place out in no time, i got only 3 abillity in body and 1 perk but get the healing thru cyberware and regeneration from cold blood. It is a very diverse build and later on i can even switch with using gorilla arms or mantis blades when i feel like it. Everything is build around 2 iconic weapons, Satori katana and death & taxes pistol with the blue/rare silencer that will one shot enemy's from stealth or/and out of combat. I did put this together using 2 other builds i found on youtube. It really rocks !

And my tip is: Dont focus too much on technical ability and crafting skill tree until you are close to 50 street cred so you could get better stuff from ripperdocks! As its pointless to spend too much perks on them early on at the game as they go just waste. Especially because resetting perks hot so much cheaper and easier in 1.5 so I recommend kinda ”dual build” for everyone, Another for less than 50 street cred, and then reset and build another one for end game. As perks are easy to fix, so think rather really REALLY hard how you are gonna distribute your attribute points, as with those you ar gonna stuck forever.

I do it differently and its still OP on very hard on 1.5 for me. The enemies are a bit more bullet spongy and lower levels (under lvl 20) but... I can choose between quick hacking everyone, or shooting everyone and do all combat any way I want and still do very well. I get to lvl 12 in Intelligence first, lvl 12 in Crafting second and lvl 12 in Cool last and my character points are low in Reflexs (lvl 6 or slighly higher) and body (lvl 5 or slightly higher) so since you get 7 attributes in the beginning + 3 in each character skill tree you start with 22 attribute points. Getting 1 attribute point for each level up means that 12 +12+ 12 + 5 +6 = 47 minus 22 from start = 25 attribute points needed = lvl 25 to get that distribution. I start with 6 in crafting , 6 in Intelligence and 4 in Cool and distribute the point to gain the progression rewards to get free perk points after that. Buying the cyberware that helps alot is vital. Early on I buy the synaptic signal optimizer from the ripper across from Dr Chrome in Kubuki circle for the 20% boost in health (vital in staying alive if not heavily invested in Body). I need to craft rare and epic guns, so once up to 12 in crafting I craft the Psalm 11:16 and it rocks everything, especially with a rare Alecto silencer on it and perks into more damage while being silent. Its easy to boost crafting progression rewards by crafting rare Grad snipers and sell at a loss at lvl 16 or so. My video on how to be OP in 1.23 still works but they changed armor nerfed the cyberware giving headshot bonus, crit chance and crit damage a ton. I never have used the cheatiest option available (invisibility cloak cyberware) as its just way to OP for me.

You can pick up armadillo while it's a rare, as your crafting skill levels up it will eventually become epic and then at level 18 it becomes a legendary.

Just my opinion: If you play for the first time, try to avoid the "Optical Camo" Cyberwear. It indeed is so hopelessly overpowered, it might kill the fun for you. I have multiple play threw's with multiple different builds and every time I add "Optical Camo" to any of them, they're broken to a point it's not fun anymore. The game itself is really not hard in terms of difficulty, as soon as you understand how the NPC act and react. Having invisibility on top of that knowledge, turns you instantly in to a god.

And on the topic of new players If I had one advice, is to completely set aside the urgency from the main quest. Take your time, follow interesting side quests... It's ok to skip over a month worth of time to see some egg hatch. It's really baffling how games keep doing that. Fallout 4 let me out of a freezer with a missing child but it was ok to torn the wastelands asunder. Mass Effect had me fetching cooking wine while the friggin reapers were coming. Like, wtf...

Mod crafting specs upgrade with your crating skill. That includes Armadillo. You don't have to wait to get it, you just have to keep leveling up your crafting skill through dismantling, crafting and upgrading items. It's the same story for Crunch, Penetrator and Pacifier mods. Get them as soon as possible and just keep using your Crafting skill until they upgrade themselves to the next tier all the way up to legendary. It's been this way since... patch 1.3, I believe? I find Crunch and Penetrator to be far superior to Pacifier. It's nice to have extra crit damage, but unless you can guarantee the crit then it's not very useful. As your base crit modifier and crit chance with specific weapons (via perks) goes up, you can start replacing the Penetrators with Pacifiers. I am going to challenge myself one of these days to not upgrade Tech past like 6 at the start of the game. I wanna see if it's even possible to play it that way, because I suspect that it's just not really a fun experience to rely only on loot drops and upgrading lower tier weapons. If that's the case during "Normal" difficulty, I think CDPR really dropped the ball as far as balancing this game. Because that takes an optional attribute and makes it essential... for everyone.

I'll have to not even get the Rare crafting unlocked because of the money exploit because that would also make the process too easy, since I could just outright buy the legendary gear with it. Tech builds are great but are way OP, I don't use it past level 4. Body, reflex, and cool I find to be a bit more of a challenge and more fun to play. But of course, you're free to play any way you want.

As mundane as it sounds, a small tip I'd give is to loot everything and then break them down into components if you don't intend on using whatever item you looted. Components weigh nothing and you can make a pretty penny just selling excess components. To add, another tip I'll give is: At mid to late game, if you're unhappy with the loot rarity/quality, save and reload/leave area and return to re-roll the rarity/quality of it. I've lost count of the amount of times that I came across a weapon with a bad rarity and perk on it just to re-roll it and get one with a way better one. A pretty good example is I came across a blue Quasar with something like "reduce charge time for tech weapons" and then I save and reloaded and I got a legendary Quasar that shoots two bullets at once. Unless CDPR changed how this works in 1.5, it's still something you can do.

If you want to make money by selling your loot then just sell the loot itself as components sell for basically nothing. Breaking stuff down for components, at least the low level items, is good when you intend to craft tho.

I'm pretty sure I've seen common sell for $1 and uncommon for $2 so it's probably less than 50%. Edit: It's even worse, both common and uncommon sell for $1, rare for $2, epic for $3 and legendary for $4. Dismantling stuff is better than buying components for the money you get for selling early on tho.

But if you are waiting for legendaries to get cash you're missing out, Target Analysis is the shit, hell even Explosives Analysis can be decent enough if you don't want to spec into crafting at all but still make money from it. That'd probably be my tip to make cash with crafting as early as act 1. Target Analysis if you can get 5 points in Tech + 1 perk point for True Craftsman and Explosives Analysis if you can't or don't want to.

Technical is 100 percent not a must. It is often not even necessary to put a single point into it. Money is easy to come by and for many builds those attribute points could be much better spent elsewhere. Legendary weapons can be purchased, and the iconics are still excellent at blue tier rarity.

I'd recommend taking your time at the start of the game and going about and clearing out Watson before doing The Heist, you can easily get 12 in technical an unlock Epic crafting which makes things alot easier then just level up your choosing skill tree abit an tbh you'll be good to go

I've been dumping into intelligence because doing breach protocols before an instance can make the battles a lot easier. Use them to turn off cameras, turn off turrets, make enemies take 30% more damage. It's been paying off hugely.

With the rework of the stats take a good look at cool....in the perk tree for ninja you get 6 or 7 Midgation 8% move speed also skills that can give you 50% or 30 on the regular..a free 7 crit for all even QH also 10 more for 7 sec at the start of a fight...Cheat death skill for 50% damage for 10 sec evey min... clod blood you get armor +10% and health perks...a skill that gives 4% armor per CB max 5 so 20% and you can get CB on crit so the up time is damn near 100% Bloodswell let's you die in ture a 50% health buff with 5 sec immunity...on a 15 sec CD. Yes tec let's you keep up with the gear but I would say that using more systems will keep you in the fight longer then just keep up on the gear...us camouflage is only a 45 sec CD...cool cybernetics can make you auto heal and turn burn in to hp or shock into damage there is a lot to cool and in my book a must have for any play style the damage bones to DOTs helps with QH and the crit...100% dubble dames melee attacks...with camouflage on done. Keep it cool.

Great video! I would add that crafting specs automatically level through rarity as your skill level in crafting increases. If you get that armadillo mod early and it’s only, say, uncommon, by the time you hit 18 in your crafting (as opposed to tech attribute) you’ll have legendary Armadillo. Also, with crafting upgrades can be super powerful, especially with iconic weapons. With the right perks it stays relatively cheap and can slowly beef up a gun. As the cost ramps up later with iconic weapons you can bump them to their next rarity level and the upgrade cost resets. Meaning they’re comparatively cheap to upgrade into the stratosphere.

It's good that the location you mentioned a couple of days ago turned out, unfortunately the last 2 games that I've played the armadillo hasn't appeared in that location (it's worth mentioning that I played as V man in the nomadic routes and looking for life) no I remember where I found the armadillo as a nomad and currently I have not found the armadillo as it seeks life, but whoever finds the armadillo in the abandoned building good luck

For my ranged build, Reflexes 20 and Technical Ability 18 seem mandatory for best damage perks and optimized legendary gear. Body vs Cool is where the toughest decisions come. I went Body 16 to get the Second Heart cyberware death insurance. However, there's a lot of nice perks under Ninjutsu and Cold Blood that I miss out having Cool at only 14. I really wish CDPR would allow respec of attribute points so I could try lower Body and higher Cool.

I took notes from the video on each level range and been following it. Started a new playthrough and I'm doing so much better now than I was before. I think putting points to maximum of three attributes and three skill threes in the early game made me more powerful against tougher enemies. So, thank you! This is/was a very helpful video.

Great tips and indeed best gameplay experience and builds include investing in Tech skills and getting Edge Runner artisan. This will also provide u with the fastest way to earn currency, because u can craft items and sell them. Keep posting.

tech is really for making money. once you can get the legendary short circuit combined with capstone perk on cold blood to assure 100% crit chance on all weapons and attacks even common ground weapons will be op. took me till level 43 to find an access point level 3 that i could pull a legendary short circuit out of an access. your crafting specs will go to legendary as your skills increase in crafting

First off great video. I waited till 1.5 to play the game. I wanted a ghost sniper build but most of these types of builds builds are outdated and nerfed with the update. Most devastatingly I ran into a bug that stop me from completing some of the ncpd , even after restarting the game and reloading the save. Any tips on the order of play my first run through? And a good sneaky build outside of a net runner?

I’m not sure what could have happened to the game and how to fix however I have my gunslinger build up that was built to sneak and deal a lot of damage. But ended up being just an all rounder for me!

Fyi I bought the game 1 week ago and I'm the type of guy who always picks the highest difficulty, not because I'm hardcore like that but because it prolongs the games life by making overcoming scenarios a lot harder. Turns out stealth and silanced revolvers is viable early game because if I could not check settings I wouldn't have believed this is the hardest the game can be. Hence why I believe this game DESPERATELY needs new game+

Lol i started 2 weeks ago. I focused on stealth an hacking. I can make people to shoot themself in the head and all while i enter their camera network. Usually everybody is dead before i even walk into the building. Lots of fun here but i go on a mantis build with hyperspeed movement

Ya that's about right. A little stealth here and there is always fun. Whistle, reboot optics, knock em out, stash the body was fun for a lot of quests. NCPD events, it's pick off a few from distance with the sniper rifle then go Rambo. I just finished the game, it was a blast to play, I held off until 1.5 and it was worth it, I didn't have any major buggy crap. Only thing I did need was a vehicle traction mod, once this was done driving was a blast. Awesome game now that it's been fixed.

I think i stuffed up with my attributes as i evened them all out at the start. But am now working on my tech ability so i can craft stuff sorta got my hand guns up and my ninjitsu. Ive got some pretty decked out cyberwear like epic tetra cyberdeck ive got heaps of different mods, am running a the kongou lizzie and a sniper. Also have the blades as well

DONT SELL CLOTHING! Sell all the guns you collect overtime when you start diving deeper into NC and start dissembling the clothes and other stuff you dont want (low quality clothes, grenades you dont use and sometimes melee weapons depending on what you want and dont want in your inventory). You make a little more selling the guns plus all the side activities you do and earn from. This is my personal preferred method to make a little more eddies on the side but just DONT SELL THE CLOTHING. It's not worth it honestly

going for crit chance/damage after 1.5 is less effective than going full damage (Crunch) Crit got heavily nerfed, getting anything but Armadillo on clothes is not worth it since you cannot stack anything but +armor anymore

Not that i would need it, there is no more content for that character to play i cleared everything

I'm pretty sure the reason you were finding some mod specs at lower qualities is because the changed it too where the mods you create will be a guaranteed quality base on your crafting lvl for example if your crafting lvl is 18 all mods you create should be legendary quality

I bought and played on series x DAY one last year. Decided to wait until the next gen versions. So my question....I was having an ok time last year playing my main issue was there seemed like SOOOOOO many systems,perks,upgrades, upgrades for the upgrades, and all of it looked fun!! But there was no tutorials! At least not done in ways that made you actually comfortable with the abilities. Plus the menus seemed just super cluttered and confusing. I only played like 4 hours so hoping jumping in now ill notice some changes.

legendary weapons aren't such a huge damage boost. you can ignore tech ability and crafting and still one shot people way before level 50 with epic weapons. i feel like too many people are seeing tech ability as a must have without actually looking at the numbers.
