Another day, another week, another...Mountaineer finding episode? The team is surprised one morning to find that the red Mountaineer has once again appeared, sitting right where they found it the first time nearly two years ago. Once investigating, they see it looks different, much newer than the one they're come to know. Is this a sick joke someone's playing on them? Or is something else at play here?

I’ve got an interesting theory. Remember in season one when they told John Doe about the mountaineer he asked them to specify which one. Maybe this could have been something he was talking about. This has to be. This is also the second piece of history repeating itself when someone has died. First Deb with the emulator safe, now John Doe with the mountaineer.

Well, each car has a few locations where VIN codes can be, like the doors or the inside glove box. This might be part of the fleet of syntech vehicles but has had the VIN number by the windshield replaced so that the cars are all considered the "same" by someone who just glances at this VIN location

This is insane! Only thing I could think of is one of them has a spoofed vin number. Like car thieves try to cover up the vin with a different vin number already in the system of the same type of car so they can’t be easily traced as stolen maybe? But it having the same exact code is insane. Even if one of their vins was stolen, it having the same unlock code is too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence. According to Google, no two cars built within 30 years of each other can have the same VIN. So as long as these two cars were made within 30+ years of each other then it's possible. BUT, the Mercury Mountaineer was offered for 14 model years which doesn't give them near enough time to repeat.

Mercury manufactured Mountaineers from 1996 to 2010, Therefore it could be possible this car could be from 28 years old to 12 years old. I would try to find out the exact age of it. Could've been Wesley's car and he could've had 2 mountaineers since it is very likely people have multiple cars in their lifetime or we can take it straight to the paranormal

If you recall we found out in previous videos that the red Mercury mountaineer was part of a fleet of syntec company vehicles that were all identical. Even so the VIN numbers must be unique to each car so even if this is part of that fleet, it’s impossible to have it have the same VIN
