2 things for further searching: Look under the hood of the car. What’s the expiration date on the candy and stuff. That’ll give a rough estimate of when it was last used or if there are multiple, there is a time frame of usage.

If it helps, the expiration code on Sugar Babies isn't a straightforward mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy but instead uses a number/letter format. The number is the last digit of the year it was made, and the letter corresponds to the month with A being January, B being February and so on. So, for example, 7F would be June 2007. Why they do it that way and not a clear, easy to read standardized method I don't know.

Theory: This car is where Deb was killed. The bodily fluid is blood belonging to Deb, she must've kept this car after Syntec shut down and you have it now because she arranged for it to be left with you in the event of her death. There's more to that car, she would not go through the effort of making sure you got it unless there's something else hidden inside it

I was actually thinking something similar.. I had thought it possible that the same exact car that Wes was murdered in had somehow got sent forward in time from a point before wes’ death and it’s possible that this autumn person new about Wes’ death so he wrote that memo in prep for Wes death. I mean pez candy was seriously popular around the early 2000s if I remember correctly from my childhood. And the memo being left on the dash and not faded whatsoever means it didn’t actually sit on the dash for 19 years presuming this was a few days before 08/06/03 because the sun would’ve caused the paper to fade. I saw someone suggest looking at the expiration date on the candy to get an idea of when it was last used which could be useful. Also it having the same Vin number means it’s the exact same car in the eyes of both the manufacturer and the law… Vin numbers from my understanding are basically ID numbers or a product Code.. like when you buy a new laptop and it has the model number on the bottom the Vin is picked from the factory and declared in public records to the factory and used in the title of the car from my understanding… so it’s likely somehow the car and perhaps as Deb were transported to the future. Mathias doesn’t mention who on the user list was most recent but if it’s deb it could be that the person who stole the absalate was actually Deb from this point. And the reason why she new so much about what was going to happen was because she had already lived it. Just a theory but I think it’s a pretty good one honestly.

To add on to that, it’s possible that the car and deb were transported shortly before the kill shot. If I recall correctly deb carried a briefcase and paper into the mountaineer before shooting Wes. It’s possible that Deb found the paper memo from autumn shortly after Wes left the office and went to show Wes to which she and the car were teleported forward in time and the murdering of Wes was an accident because she was brought back to them at exact moment while about to pull the trigger on someone else.. maybe.. or maybe not.. I guess we will find out in the coming weeks

Sooo, I was thinking, maybe this Mountaineer isn't just a Mountaineer with the same VIN number, what if it actually is literally THE SAME mountaineer. Hear me out... So remember when they found all the files about themselves that was made before they were even born? And how Deb seemed to know everything that would happen and we all wondered how she got that information? What about time-travel? It fits with how they knew all that, and also how the mountaineer could have the same VIN and look new, because it IS the same car, but from when it was in good shape...

Deb literally said to Wes in the tape recording in season 1, "I think this timeline will work" in reference to the Project 863 subjects. Thsi would definitely explain how Deb knows absolute dates and knows what's going to happen before it does!

By the looks of it, everything that happened so far was only a distraction. Everything is repeating itself without Deb. So couldn’t you say events caused now could have happened without her? Think about it, the apple 2 could have been controlled by anyone just to mess with you. When Deb called you, she wasn’t worried if someone was tracking her and when you told her you saw the murder, what if you had just told someone from Cyntec everything you knew? And Deb could have been dead for so long making it an easy distraction, like someone needed more time… Just a theory thou, stay safe.

I have a theory. What if whoever owned the car somehow time traveled to now and that’s why next time someone shows up thinking that they work there. Because it all used to be Syntece, what if the Syntec employee time traveled but doesn’t know it. They have to brake open the case, it looks openable with maybe a crow bar or just some random handy tool Woods has but if somethings in that they have to open it because there may be serum, documents or some other crazy thing. Also the fluids with the black light, Scott was a 'bio chemist' meaning he worked with different serums, substances and liquids so maybe that was just stuff he had on his lab coat or hands when he entered the car after work.

Wanted to make a separate post about the whole time travel theory that people are playing with. The more likely solution is that it involves some form of time dilation or time distortion and not actual time travel. This part was covered briefly with the discovery of the "Project Pegasus" paperwork which they completely disregarded. Trying to open and close different "time bubbles" through using a electromagnetic accelerometer machine was what it was showing if my memory serves correctly. Time travel or not, some form of time manipulation is involved going by what they have shown so far.

If this is the same exact car as the other mountaineer, then I would check to see if the stains in the new car are the same as in the old one. Also, maybe check for the notebook in the seats again… If you find the stains are the same then that would mean Wes died twice, in the same car and that Deb killed Wes twice, in the same car.

I have seen a lot of theories about this being the car where Deb was killed. The fact that the black light showed splatter spots similar to those in Wes’ car makes me agree with those people. It’s too much of a coincidence that we are going back to wear this all began. Being sent a safe from deb, being tasked to solve a murder, and finding a Mercury mountaineer in the same spot as before. I’d say go through the car more in depth. Look for clues that could tell you who owned this car and what happened in it. This may lead you closer to finding Deb’s murderer.

I think the next move should be to analyze all the documents in the car for potential secrets, codes, names, etc. You should definitely get into that briefcase, which can be done quite easily by either breaking the locks or cracking the code with one of multiple methods. Just looking up a tutorial should make it easy to get in non-destructively.

Mercury did NOT go out of business, Ford and Lincoln (Who owned it) discontinued it, and sold part of it to an unknown company, MAYBE Syntec was the unknown company that bought it and used it to make their own company vehicles, again just a theory, but Mercury did not go out of business

@@msprincesss115 well I would have to say no, the mountaineer is based off the ford explorer and Ford still makes the explorer, but if syntec owns the company and if syntec is not fully out of businesses they can theoretically still make the cheeper mountaineer like older models, but I would assume that the old engine would hard to get, so they still need to check the to see if that is the same
