I moved to Asheville three months ago from California. Helene has had a Catastrophic effect. I’m safe and evacuated last Sunday to Spartanburg then Charlotte. Stayed in an Air Bnb in Hickory, NC for a week and just made it home to Asheville on Saturday. I have power again but no water for at least a month. This week I will be volunteering doing safety checks with Seniors in the Asheville area. Yall stay safe out there!

I live on the west coast of Florida in Pinellas county. I've been through several near misses from the hurricanes, however it is devastated around here a lot of people still do not have power and it looks like another one is going to hit Wednesday morning !😮 Stay safe and give your love a hug and tell them how much love and appreciate them❤

Hi Dylan, I used to live in Fayetteville, NC, and have traveled all over Appalachia a lovely area. My heart goes out to all affected by this tragedy. Living outside of Houston I have been through a few Hurricanes, Beryl being the latest. Houston and surrounding areas had about 3 million without power for three to four days or more. It was a bad storm. I never would have thought Helene would cause that amount of Devastation. I am glad you and your family are safe.

With hurricanes the least worrisome thing are the winds, the really deadly thing is the amounts of water it brings.

We went though a Category 3-4 about 2 years ago - The roads are still missing near me 2 years later. It was super scary and as a consequence, stormy weather just worries me to hell now. I found loosing the landscape was a grief process. Take time to recover and stay safe.

Omg, hate to hear you were affected by Storm Helene and the power is still out. I'm in SC too and Asheville is about 90 minutes away from here. Most people here I've heard just got power back yesterday. I didn't realize Asheville got hit so hard that's terrible. Glad you are okay and I'm praying for everyone affected 🙏🏾❤️

I can relate I also live on the SC/ GA. line on lake Russell. I've been through tornadoes that were nothing like this. Just so sad for all the people that lost loved ones.

@dylangabriel13 I live in the upstate east side of Greenville. I still don't have power. Trees were down everywhere. Two of my neighbors sustained massive damage to their homes, from huge oak trees falling on them. This has to be the worst storm I've experienced in the 26 years living here. I'm glad you're safe. ❤️🙏🏼

Dylan I am glad to see you are okay. Thank you for sharing your experience and what happened in your area. I am sorry your area and the southeast was deeply impacted. I understand and I know living in Texas dealing with hurricanes, derechos, and more. This is indeed real. You see the true nature of people during tragedies like this. There were many states impacted as that storm was huge. It will take time. and the recovery will happen. Prayer and hope and action will change things with time. You stay health and positive.
